Good morning, AJ, and all. I have not yet been awake enough to notice anything out of order!
I found 18 count medium organic brown Alderfer eggs for around $5.59 at the farmer’s market. I had never bought that brand and see the farms are in PA. What brands of eggs do you prefer? I also like Vital farms which I can get at a decent price now from Walmart.
I don’t care what brand eggs I get. Lately we have had friends give us eggs, which has been nice. It is amazing how long eggs will last when they are not washed.
Morning!Hadn’t had my coffee yet so everything appeared perfectly normal Aj 😂☕️
We purchase Vital eggs as well Janice. The best is if we can get farm fresh as Kathaleena noted unwashed they last a long time!
Painter should get here sometime for final touch ups and haul his trash away. The Mr Monk ocd self has been undone seeing it piled on my driveway.. not even bagged up…thinking I might not recommend him even though the house looks good. Some areas his guys missed in spots and I cannot find my front porch light they removed. The other light fixtures they left lying in the yard… to be rained upon! I’m ready for no more projects but we have the deck to be done still! Hoping when the time comes this house will sell quickly.
Kizzie we are continually searching out locations. We are thankful and content for now knowing the Lord will place us where He would have us.
The more crowded this area becomes and the more our state provides for those not here legally it becomes more and more intolerable. All the while our taxes and “fees” climb … some refer to Gov Polis as Governor McFeeMe ! 😂
“📅 Mark your calendar — Night of July 29 into early July 30
Two meteor showers will converge in one sky: 🔭 Delta Aquariids & Alpha Capricornids — a rare double feature.
☄️ The Delta Aquariids, originating from Comet 96P/Machholz, will bring swift, faint meteors — around 25 per hour, often leaving glowing trails. 🌠 The Alpha Capricornids, from Comet 169P/NEAT, are slower — but famous for bright fireballs that linger and burst dramatically.
✨ Together, they create a spectacular mix of speed, color, and cosmic debris, as Earth plows through two ancient comet trails at once.
📍 When to watch:
Best visibility after midnight, especially 2:00–4:00 AM
Look toward the southern sky under dark, clear conditions
No telescope needed — just your eyes and patience
These meteors are interplanetary dust grains, some as old as 10,000 years — burning up in Earth’s atmosphere at up to 100,000 km/h.
Don’t miss this cosmic collision of two meteor streams — it’s a night when the universe performs live”
We desperately need our deck torn down and rebuilt. We also need the outside of the house painted or get new siding. I have felt burned by the last contractors we have had. My husband isn’t bothered by it. He is bothered by contractors, however. So, I try to chill out about it.
It was nice being on the West Coast where we didn’t have to stay up too late to see the moonwalk. I don’t think think my parents would have let me stay up very late. I was 11 years old and had just come home from a hospital stay for heart surgery.
Thanks for the movie suggestions. I loved Apollo 13 and October Sky. I’ll take a look at the others. (You didn’t mention it, but I imagine you know that October Sky is an anagram of Rocket Boys.)
I was half asleep when I posted this morning, so posts are a little out of order.

NJ – Are you planning to move soon (or soon-ish)? Or thinking ahead for the future?

Did you stay up late to watch Armstrong and Aldrin walk on the moon?
I did.
My father-in-law worked on the Apollo projects; we’ve talked space as long as I’ve known my husband!
Here’s a post I wrote about our favorite Apollo movies, FYI:

I didn’t know that! Loved the book, though, and have read everything Homer Hickman has written!

Yes, I remember seeing that on television. It was an amazing thing!
