Our weather cooled off a little for a few days. Glad of that! But it’s still summer and August is often our hottest month, so I bear it. Hard to believe July is half over already!
Love that cone flower. I’ve seen a large patch of them at our community garden this year.
Once again Miss Bosley has perked up after I thought today was go to the vet day.
I was asleep and in my dream I heard a double Meow. I awakened and thought God had given me the gift of goodbye meows, and I would find her lifeless. Instead, she was standing at the kitchen door and meowed at me to give her a bite of food. We are obviously on the Yo-Yo Road to the Rainbow Bridge.
I love this story! Brought tears to my eyes. . From today’s The Dispatch Morning Dispatch: . ~ “After torrential flash floods ripped through central Texas last week, good Samaritans have worked together to help some of the survivors of an all-girls summer camp, including helping them reunite with beloved stuffed animals. “There were stuffed lambs and monkeys, bears and lovies, lifelong favorites meant to soothe the children who were staying at the Christian girls camp in the Texas Hill Country,” Caitlin Gibson wrote in the Washington Post. After many were lost from the floods, she explained, “one all-volunteer nonprofit organization, Lost Stuffy Project, is trying to bring every small measure of comfort possible to families affected by the flood—by replacing the treasured stuffed animals, blankets and other comfort items that were carried away by the raging Guadalupe River. The first request came from the parents of one of Camp Mystic’s youngest campers, the little girl who brought Ruff Ruff, the stuffed dog. … So Lost Stuffy Project went to work: They posted a photograph of Ruff Ruff to their Instagram, where more than 33,000 followers were ready to help. The group included the brand (Gund) and name (Muttsy) of the dog, and bands of internet sleuths immediately set out to track down a replacement. They succeeded, Jaffe says, within about 10 minutes: ‘We were able to return the dog to the family in under two days.’” ~
Today, we walked one of the trails at Gooseberry Falls on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was a bit hot, but not as bad as we have experienced other times. It is a place we have visited often, but it is always an interesting, beautiful place to explore and enjoy.
When we came home, I noticed one of my coneflowers had opened up.
Yesterday one of my grandson’s teams won the state soccer championship in his division. The other grandson’s team was fourth. We didn’t get to see them playing, however. It was so hot while they were playing, plus we have a lot of smoke from Canada. Oh, the energy of youth!
Happy (Belated) Birthday, NJ!

Too hot for me. Then our outdoors are ruined with smoke from Canada over and over.
Our coneflowers have buds but are not opened yet. The bees and butterflies sure love those.

one more hot day here. When I got home last night my house was 96. For the first time I left the ac on all night and will leave it on today
I think I have an insulation problem as I left the house all closed up with curtains and blinds closed and even rooms shut off

Good morning, all. Another beautiful day headed into the nineties. We can expect eighties to nineties for the rest of the week.
My dad seems well recovered from his falls though yesterday insisted he was one hundred two so he may have aged seven years due to falling.
