  1. Good late morning! It’s 78° and going up to the low 90s with a drop back down based on expected storms. We had overnight storms that cooled us, too.

The yellow passionflower vines are in bloom. Their fruit is so small, like a little green pearl.

I finally made it to the hard section of my Sudoku book. I appreciate the challenge.

  2. 66 inside and 64 outside. I was so glad we were moved from an outside venue (due to rain) to inside a VFW. A friend came with her daughter and granddaughter, who is 9. We were seated near a Fallen Comrade Table and the 9-year-old was able to read all about it. It was nice evening.

  3. Yesterday was the last day of a four-day heat wave with temps in the 90s, including near 100 a couple of those days, and a heat index of around 110.. My living room does not have air conditioning due to the AC going kaput a few years ago, and got up to 80 degrees, even with the fan trying to draw in the cooler air from the AC in the kitchen. That AC struggled to make the difference it usually makes.

This morning, temps are in the low 60s, and it is very cool. Windows are open, with a nice cool breeze coming in. What a relief!

  4. I was going to the thrift store to drop off some things and stopped by my mailbox on the way. My IRS refund was finally there so I added in a trip to the bank. It is nice that after waiting so long I also got an extra ten dollars in interest. On my way home I realized that I had forgotten to get gas so turned back to fill up.

So glad that I did as the distance on the freeway from town to the first stoplight down the hill took an hour instead of the usual five minutes. I did see a car on the back of a tow truck that was completely smashed, but it was such a long line of cars not moving that I didn’t even see where the crash took place. Glad to have a full tank and a working air conditioner.

Look for the blessings! Couldn’t find my phone, but found it after I got home by using the app on my ipad.
