  1. Happy Saturday, Wanderers!

We had a chilly start in the upper 50s this morning. I am wearing a sweatshirt which seems odd for the last day in May. Humidity is low, finally, after all the rain.

A Bible verse to ponder from my last chapter in Pursuit of Holiness:

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace, and joy.

It’s nice to end the study with a focus on the joy to be found in living in obedience to God’s ways.

Our next study will be Experiencing God by Blackaby.

  2. Kathaleena, not too likely as husband has been working on it for a couple of years now. They do not appreciate that my husband knows more about my finances than I do. Originally, they gave me my full benefits but when they were trying to adjust daughter’s benefits, husband mentioned to them that I provided daughter with emotional support through phone calls, texts, and in person as well as guidance with physically grocery shopping, laundry, etc. then they discontinued mine for six months and gave it all to her. Finally, they said the only way they could help was to sign a paper I had declined before saying I did not want full benefits. They said they could fix it afterward but could do nothing without it. So I signed, started getting partial and she gets partial. Very odd because she already has social security benefits for being so mentally disabled. In addition to a very large budget to keep her in a facility or with twenty four hour supervision which she can’t get because she fires all her workers and facilities won’t take her because of her violent record.

  3. Hope AJ and Miss Bosley are better —

I’ve had an ‘off’ month, a virus, difficult work/beat ups and downs.

lifelong friend going through very hard times

me, strange reactions to a medication.

Nation, world seems to be in turmoil that’s not letting up.

    But God …

I’m not keeping up here well or regularly, but hope all else is well.

  4. That all sounds nuts to me, mumsee. A good lawyer could straighten it out, no doubt, but no one should have to do that to get benefits they deserve.

Glad AJ is getting better. I hope the cat gets better. Dj, hope this month is better for you.

  5. We can barely see the sun with all the smoke haze, so I am not hopeful, but will take a look out later.

Our pastor returned to the church today. He spoke, along with his wife, mostly about the ordeal they went through. He also spoke about Job and that God never gave Job an answer to Job’s question of why. He still cannot stand for a long time, and you can hear his lungs still have issues, but he is doing well considering that he easily could have died. He had pneumonia and blastomycosis. Nobody knows how he got the latter, since it is usually from soil and there is pretty much no soil showing in January in MN. Apparently, it can hide for a while.

  6. Thanks Kathaleena.

Good to hear your pastor is doing better.

Our church has a new weeknight Bible study on Job that I want to check out.

“… the ups and downs of suffering and hope as well as the honest questions along the way …”

Ongoing prayers and well-wishes for Miss Bosley.

  7. Miss Bosley is eating her third can of Reveal today and has been better all day. I decided to hold dry food in case it is too hard on her healing system. I have fed her in her carrier today. She went right in, obviously associating it with food rather than with being carted somewhere she does not want to go.
