“The Biden administration claimed to have added almost 400,000 jobs from July through September of last year, but new data released this week suggest none of those jobs ever existed…”
“BREAKING: The Worcester Police Patrolman’s Union is calling for an investigation and charges against a City Councilwoman Etel Haxhiaj for assaulting officers and inciting a violent mob trying to stop the arrest of an illegal alien criminal suspect who was previously arrested for assaulting a pregnant woman.
“Etel Haxhiaj incited aggression towards the police during the incident. This councilor participated in the conduct of the unruly crowd and eventually assaulted both Worcester police and federal law enforcement officers on scene. Her behavior also emboldened others to act in this manner.”Councilwoman Haxhiaj previously promised to meet deportation efforts “with Hell” in response to a statement from Border Czar Tom Homan.”
Another of the false stories of deportation of citizens collapses under the evidence.
And a further indictment of the trash media who ran with the bogus stories, but aren’t mentioning the truth now.
“The ACLU dropped a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that claimed the Trump administration unlawfully deported a U.S. citizen child after a letter was found where the mother explicitly directed that she be deported with her minor child. Duh.
You won’t hear about it from the media. It doesn’t work for their narrative.”
If a court has determined that a citizen should go with his deported mother that’s fine. But all citizens deserve to be heard in court, including a minor whose interests may or may not be aligned with his deported mother.
I often agree with you on issues, but not this time. Unless officials are aware of some sort of extenuating circumstances such as the mother abusing the child, parental rights should take precedence over citizenship.
The opposing side lamented that children were separated from their parents. Now that the government is not doing that it seems wrong? Asking a two year old “birthright” citizen where they want to live is not logical. The courts even mandate to children of divorced parents how their lives shall be split. The kids don’t make the call until much later if at all.
Hi Didymus. My concern is that the process is so hurried and one sided that parents will not have the opportunity to consider all options for their children. Probably children will go with their parents as us normally right. But when the deportation involves families where some are citizens and some aren’t, I favor slowing the process down for parents to consider all their options. And where one parent is a citizen, perhaps allow for legalizing the illegal parent to keep the family together.
If parents decide they really do want to deport with their citizen child, the child should at least be issued a legal passport that allows them to travel freely in and out of the US. Like any other citizen. They have the same rights we have and those should be protected.
“BREAKING: The Episcopal Church has announced it will end its decades-old partnership with the government to resettle refugees, citing moral opposition to resettling white Afrikaners from South Africa who have been classified as refugees by the Trump admin.”
NJ, no one is suggesting a 2 year old should decide any thing. Often attorneys or some other advocate speak for minors in court. When the children are involved the he process should be slowed down to avoid damaging families that could be saved.
There is no UK trade agreement, just a framework by two countries equally desperate for a “win”. The weird thing is the US has a trade surplus with the UK so by Trump’s metric they were already winning so why a new deal? Strangely as North American auto makers pointed out, UK autos now have less sales tax (tariffs) than a North American car made under the existing USMCA trade deal.
There is no China deal. Both sides simply agreed to repeal all retaliatory tariffs, so they’re almost back to the same trade arrangements as a month ago except higher consumer taxes. Not to mention, this repeal is only a 90 day pause. The conservative American press is proclaiming this as a win but I’m confused how is repealing your tariffs and stepping back from your attempt to redefine your trade relations with China a win? The US has admitted they no longer want to decouple from China — they walked away from the original premise of the tariffs.
I admit I’m a bit baffled by US Middle East policy right now. From pro-Isreal/pro-Bibi to somewhat neutral stance. I’m not the only one confused — I’m reading speculation that it’s derived from a personal feud between Bibi and Trump to Qatari/Saudi bribery. I’m leaning towards the latter, but it’s been fun to watch the 180 in US politics. Some are even speculating the US will recognise Palestine — like Nixon to China, only Trump could get away with that.
There’s no ceasefire with the Houthis – the US just quit bombing them, meanwhile Houthis continued to send missiles to Israel. In all liklihood , the Houthis also agreed not to bomb shipping anymore. This would mean Qatar has discussed this with Iran. Which of course has givenrise to speculation about Qatari bribery ….. nothing that a gold plated jet won’t solve.
The India-Pakistan conflict is also interesting. Vance and Trump both came across as not caring a bit to suddenly getting involved. Its interesting that Modi/India refuses to acknowledge US/Trump involvement while Pakistan is over the top with gratitude. Marco worked the Pakistan side of the truce and he’s gradually coming across as the adult in the room.
My guess is Pakistan is slowly coming across the realisation that they don’t have a lot of friends and even their friends are lukewarm — years of tolerating terrorist camps will do that.
Debra — glad to see you raised the need for legal representation and due process. Restored some faith for me in human decency.
I’ve read a few comments that illegals don’t get due process but of course without due process you don’t know if someone is an illegal alien. Then there is basic human decency — don’t separate a mother from a child, don’t kidnap people and send them to foreign jails, etc.
I won’t say much more — I’ve declined to comment lately just simply because at a certain point a line has been crossed and you can’t debate human decency. Not you Debra, just the general climate of opinion I’m reading in the Republican corner of the internet.
Good to see you, HRW. You know the people here are quite decent, though none of us is without our flaws. We just have different perspectives.
We will never be able to avoid all mistakes, but I really opposed the use of hard quotas and the use of independent contractors because I think those methods will greatly increase the mistakes.
I’m a little confused about our middle east policy too. But I fully support Trump’s efforts to bring peace and end all this fighting. I’m trying not to second guess the process too much.
Irony is a dish best served cold.
