  1. We always get letters to remind us to renew our driver’s license. We normally do for car licenses, too. One year we did not (probably because we had moved recently) and we forgot to renew. In fact, we were one month short of renewing again when I was stopped for missing a stop sign. It was dark, windy and rainy and the stop sign had a tree branch covering it. When the officer told me the plate was expired, I told her that couldn’t be. Hmm. I guess it was. She told me it must be my husband’s fault (paraphrase). I did not get a ticket for the stop sign (I was not familiar with the town) but we did get a fine for the license and then had to get one (good for one month). I am not sure how anyone would remember without reminders.

  2. New pope… younger than me…sigh

Busy days lately and I’m feeling a touch old. My Mom is forgetting more and more and she soon will forget me. But for now I will continue to remind her …. Every other minute of her life. She seems to think she has more than 3 daughters and wonders why she cannot recall their names. I will say she is sweeter than she has ever been in her life!

We are heading into home projects starting Monday. The deck project will take a bit since the permit application is laborious plus turning in plans and colors to the HOA. Why do I live in an HOA???!

We met our new neighbor her daughter and delightful granddaughter. I’m so blessed to have sweet new neighbors!

  3. My dad has always been a very thoughtful gentleman. That is quickly changing. I know it is the dementia but I also believe it is fear. He has always had fears but now he realizes he is facing the biggest fear: death and, he believes, annihilation.
