I am so glad for those who spoke out in the past in various centuries and countries on ‘political’ issues. If not, Chinese girls’ feet would be still bound; India widows would be throwing themselves on their husbands’ funeral pyres. I will stand with those who want to ban young people butchering their bodies today and similar things. That is all political, in addition to being spiritual. Christians are always called to speak to whatever the day brings. We are blessed to live in a culture where we can speak into the politics of the day. We are the government in our country! We can throw that away or use it for the best we can. Government and politics will always be imperfect until Jesus comes and sets up his kingdom. Thank God for those he calls to be in politics!
The people I know around here who have close family ties between generations tend to be more inclined to care more about keeping conservative values in the surrounding culture. Others place value on other things.

Totally agree, Kathaleena. It is wise to not put heads in the sand. But perspectives can vary based on a personal connection with future generations.
