Good morning. I started the day by knocking the bed off the blocks. I heard my glasses fall between the bed and the wall when I took them off last night. Couldn’t find them under the bed. Turns out they fell behind the nightstand. Quite an ordeal to find them.
Good morning from Atlanta, home of the most yellow pollen ever!
I have experienced that dropping of glasses under the bed, under the nightstand, and between the bed mattress and frame. Then it is difficult to see where they went when you don’t have them on. A Catch-22!
That sounds like an unpleasant way to start the day, R. I hope the rest of your day is far better. After getting my cataract surgery, I have found I can walk off without my glasses. I notice as soon as I want to see something close up, however. I was so nearsighted before that, so I never forgot them. Now I better understand those who are farsighted.
Good morning, all. I was a bit concerned for NJ this morning, over there on the old news thread, talking gibberish. Glad to see she has come to her senses.
We started our day here by letting a bird out of the wood stove. My dad sat quietly at the table, eating his oatmeal, as we attempted to shoo it out the window.
We tried ducks and geese. Fun to watch, good weed eaters, mouse eaters… But they kept getting into the goat and sheep water troughs and making messes and spreading disease. And they were lousy moms, worse than the turkeys.
I had to sit outside for maybe twenty minutes because the day was too lovely not to drink it in. I watched a few birds, but can’t tell you what kind. How does a bird get into a woodstove? I imagine through the long exhaust pipe?
The birds that I see flying from tree to tree are all woodpeckers. None have attacked my home today so maybe the new whirligigs are working.
Bid my new friends goodbye today. The little girl left me a note and a special rock in my car. Her brothers are older and so friendly and helpful. A delight to meet them all.

NJ 🙂
Busy morning, trying to get my car in to the body shop shortly, then get a rental, then do a rescued bird story …
Coffee.
I also get along without my regular glasses OK now, but do need to keep those readers handy — and I’m often putting them down “somewhere” … ?

I am listening to Hillbilly Eligy on Audible. What a fascinating background. It’s always fun to hear an author read their book.

Janice, yes. Probably looking for a place to build a nest and checked out the chimney. Not the first time.

Both good things, Jo! No Flicker invasion and new friends.
