  1. Jeff Zients’ Last Hurrah: Spend It All!

White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, with all the urgency of a man fleeing a burning building, sent a memo to White House staffers telling them to “obligate as much funding as possible” before Biden’s presidency ends. Yes, that’s a real quote. Translation? Spend every penny legally allowed before Trump shows up to lock the vault.

According to Zients, Biden’s team has already spent 98% of the available funding through October. But like that friend who’s “almost” done with their diet before they see dessert, they’re not quite ready to stop. Zients told staffers to aim for that last 2% — a mere $46 billion — still up for grabs in the 2025 fiscal year.Where’s The Money Going?

So where is this mountain of taxpayer cash headed? Unsurprisingly, it’s being funneled into Biden’s greatest legislative “accomplishments” (if you want to call them that):

    • COVID-19 Stimulus ($1.9 trillion)
    • Bipartisan Infrastructure Law ($1.2 trillion)
    • CHIPS and Science Act ($52 billion)
    • Inflation Reduction Act ($1.2 trillion)

Do the math, and that’s about $5 trillion in spending. Now they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel to keep the cash flowing even after Biden’s gone. Zients wants to make sure this “spend-a-palooza” extends well into Trump’s first year. It’s a parting gift wrapped with a bow of red tape and stuffed with bureaucratic waste.

“JUST IN: ABC News forced to pay $15 million to Trump to settle defamation lawsuit, George Stephanopoulos forced to issue public apology.

The development stems from a March incident where Stephanopoulos claimed Trump was found “liable for r*pe.”

Now, ABC News has to pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a “Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past.”

They also have to cover Trump’s $1M in legal fees.

“ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024,” the apology reads.”
