  1. “Merrick Garland has spent the last four years sending FBI raids out for peaceful pro life activists, spying on school board meetings and catholic masses, putting Steven Bannon and Peter Navarro in jail, sending his number two to Alvin Bragg’s office to go after President Trump, not to mention corruptly targeting President Trump with lawfare himself. The only response to a DOJ this irredeemably corrupt is sending in somebody who will disrupt the system in a major way.”

“America just voted overwhelmingly for somebody who will disrupt the status quo in DC and that’s exactly what President Trump is rewarding them with.”

  2. Exactly. Stand up and help, or get the hell out of the way. RINOs and NTers take note.

“Keep in mind these squishy pasty ConInc types sat in complicit silence as Biden’s AG and DOJ systematically rounded up Americans, brought bogus charges, hauled them to a DC gulag awaiting trial on even nonviolent offenses, forced them in front of DC juries, and recommended excessive prison sentences.

They defended Jack Smith and offered only tepid criticism of armed raid of Trump’s home.

They are to be mocked and shunned.”

  3. “They’re not worried that Matt Gaetz isn’t qualified (he is far more qualified than, for instance, Jeff Sessions, who idiotically recused himself from the Russiagate investigation without even requesting to see any evidence). They’re worried that Gaetz will tear down their fiefdoms.

As for the so-called conservatives who are clutching their pearls, the Gaetz nomination serves as an excellent litmus test for weeding these people out. How can anyone who has witnessed the past four years be more concerned about whether Gaetz has paid his dues to Washington DC than about dismantling and defenestrating DOJ.”

“There’s also quite a bit of professional bitterness and resentment at play. For decades, a certain type of Republican lawyer has believed DOJ to be his personal playground. That only the fanciest of lawyers could possibly be qualified to work at such an august institution.

Democrats were able to turn DOJ into the American Stasi precisely because that particular breed of Republican lawyer treated DOJ like it was an elite law school journal.

Those days are over, and a lot of people who believed it was their destiny to run DOJ are realizing it’s not going to happen.”

  4. “The FBI and DOJ ran an info up spreading false claims about Matt Gaetz. Just as with the Russia collusion hoax that was perpetrated, look for which people amplify and participate the info op, and which people realize how much the DOJ has destroyed the rule of law in this country. I find giddy participation in deep state info ops to be horrifying.”

Its an abuse of power, against the citizens rights, and a complete bastardization of their of the mission and the courts. And corrupt judges played along too. They need to go. We should all be horrifyied when they use govt to punish and slander their enemies with allegations of false crimes.

People need to pay a price. Firings where appropriate, and criminal and civil rights violations trials for those who Orchestrated it.

    Restore the trust.

“The FBI/DOJ intentionally leaked information about an investigation into Matt Gaetz in order to permanently destroy his reputation in the worst way imaginable. They never brought charges(presumably because they couldn’t prove them), but the allegations have now stuck, with media organizations essentially implying the investigations themselves are proof of guilt. Regardless of what you think of him, he’s got a right to be pissed.”

  6. “Biden fired every single attorney in the DOJ when he started his term, installed Merrick Garland who protected him and his son for 4 years while relentlessly going after Trump, Trump’s attorneys, and Trump’s supporters.

Don’t worry, there’s nothing Matt Gaetz can do that would ever top that.”

“ELON AND VIVEK’S FIRST TARGET: $6.75T OF GOVERNMENT WASTE

A deep dive into federal spending reveals some truly jaw-dropping examples of waste that Trump’s new DOGE team will tackle:

    THE NUMBERS ARE STAGGERING:

    $1.3B sent to dead people

    $171M in benefits to prisoners

    $101B in improper Medicare payments

$70B more planned for “COVID response” through 2026

$7B annually for mostly empty federal buildingsFormer retired officials like Fauci still getting

    $15M security details

The waste gets even more bizarre:

    $549K for Russian cat experiments,

$3.7M to study gambling monkeys, and $20K for drag shows in Ecuador.

“If IRS employees can’t figure out how to pay their taxes, how do the rest of us?” says watchdog CEO John Hart, noting that even IRS workers owed $50M in unpaid taxes.

This is exactly why Elon and Vivek will post all DOGE actions online – to expose and eliminate what Hart calls “spending that has been on autopilot where there’s no real thought or purpose behind it.”

“Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has gone wild on DEI:

    – 207 employees spread across 7 Offices of Minority Health

    – 294 taxpayer-funded staffers dedicated to “diversity, equity & inclusion.”

The price tag for payroll alone exceeds $67 million, with a majority of these DEI hires making six-figure salaries.

The latest HHS budget request mentions “equity” 829 times, with requests seeking to address “racial equity and environmental justice” at the forefront.

An efficient government has no place for DEI bloat.

    Time to DOGE it.”

  10. I think Trump has a mandate for his agenda and he deserves to have all the internal support for that agenda that the cabinet positions provide. Republicans in the Senate and “moderates” who chose to support Biden must know that all we have to do is look at the observably mentally ill serving in the Biden cabinet for the last 4 years to know that anyone Trump nominates will be exponentially better.

  12. I heard on a newscast that Melania skipped tea with Dr Biden because of the Biden raid on Mar-a-Lago…good for her!

And before you can say Jack Sprat Hunter is going to get his pardon…for no wrong doing of course but he will get the pardon none the less. 🙄

  13. Matt Gaetz gives a new definition to “recess appointments”. Does the DOJ have a school within a mile of the office? The memes were brutal on this appointment. From what I understand, Gaetz is considered one of the brighter Republicans in the House (this from some Democrats) but his still (??) ongoing investigation for sexual misconduct and his lack of civility make me wonder if this will work. Being a House Rep is one thing, heading an entire bureaucracy is another.

Noem as Homeland Security also started some memes. The illegals are eating cats and dogs — so lets appoint someone who shoots her own dog?

Gabbard is another one. I see some rationale but she’s a loose cannon especially on foreign policy. I agree with her sometimes and other times she leaves me scratching my head. Might not be the right person to head Intelligence.

Rubio is probably a good choice, all things considered.

The Pete Hegseth appointment is weird. A weekend FOX host? He’s connected to the Koch family. He has some military experience but not at the top.

Why is there a Special Envoy to the Middle East? I thought Jared Kusher solved all the problems. It apperars Witkoff’s main qualification was playing golf with Trump. With Saudi Arabia now declaring the Israeli action in Gaza an on-going genocide, perhaps a more knowledgeable person is needed.

Naming Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel is throwing fuel to the flames. In previous statements, he denied the existence of the West Bank and Gaza. This appointment will only encourage the Bibi.

I understand lining up people who agree with your goals (whatever they are) but there are some serious issues here. It will be interesting to see how this all works out.

  14. When a new company is acquired and the new CEOs want to make a mark and a profit there are two courses of action they pursue 1) labour cuts 2) mergers and acquisitions. Both are quick and easy ways to increase share value and generate temporary profit. Long term stability is a different issue.

Government works somewhat similar with slightly different goals. So its entirely possible for Vivek and Elon to immediately engage in labour cuts and merge departments. Stability than becomes a problem. When you shut down a department or program, the employees aren’t immediately fired – they are laid off in terms of seniority or some are pushed out with early retirement. This gets messy with employees transferred to new departments. Instability then will lower actual efficiency that actually accomplishes the function of govt.

Additional problems will arise if Vivek and Elon don’t separate their private companies from their gov’t function. If any action impacts Tesla, Starlink, Space X etc., Democrats and unions will claim corruption and any action undertaken by Elon will be litigated.

Personally I don’t understand why anybody would be happy with the uber-rich running the government. They are not in it for you.

  15. Penn election law allows for a recount at 0.5%. Casey is well within the range. Follow the rules and recount. Republican legislators challenged thousands of overseas ballots 15 minutes before the deadline prior to the election. This slowed down the count and has led to the current mess.

Republicans have won the House but it looks like the numbers will be very similar to the last House. Not an overwhelming win by any stretch. Trump is now down to 50.2% of the vote. Doesn’t look to change so his slim majority is safe. We’re now at 149 million presidential votes, short 6 million from 2020. There are probably 2-3 million left to count. The missing 10 million are almost accounted for. With such a narrow win and several House seats won by very thin margins, I suspect some Republicans will be more cautious than Trump would like. Then again what is his agenda besides revenge, avoiding criminal charges, and tax cuts?

Finally, the Mar-a-lago raid is probably a convenient excuse. Melania was never comfortable with the “first lady” role. In Europe, spouses have their own lives and seldom get involved. She was quite absent from this election other than to flog her book. In all likelihood she will avoid any sense of “first lady” responsibility. And quite frankly I don’t blame her — she needs to have her own space and life.

Latest meme I saw — Trump is replacing the Deep State with the Creep State.

I’m skipping the botox jokes but I do wonder what is with Trump, Gaetz and Vance and make up?

And Melania was seen with her husband a couple times while he campaigned…and she was at the convention. I do not blame her for wanting to stay out of the scrutiny of the press but her distain of the Biden’s is quite understandable.

  19. Clinton came from the trailer park and look how corrupt and awful he was. I don’t care if our president is working class or not, but he needs to be savvy, have the best interests of the whole country at heart AND he needs to relate to people from different classes. Trump has managed that. He’s off to a great start. Praying all goes well.
