  1. Having a visit with Chickadee today. Please pray for a good visit and that as she spends time with me, she will remember who she really is, and more importantly, who God really is, and both of those realities will sink deep into her mind and heart.

  2. Praying, Kizzie. And thank you for praying. Stepmom got some good care yesterday and has been sent home with stronger painkillers and clear instructions on how to take her other medications. She’s been taking them wrong for many, many years (taking them with her breakfast instead of ½ hour prior to eating). I feel so sad for her.

Praying for my sister and BIL as they work through the process of all this.

  3. It gets more and more difficult to juggle medicine as more is added. Some can interact negatively with each other, and trying to find the right timing can be a challenge. Then trying to stick somewhat with the timing is another thing.

  4. God, my Maker, who gives songs in the night.

    Job 35:10

Any man can sing during the day. When the cup is full, man draws inspiration from it. When money is in plentiful supply, any man can praise the God who provides an abundant harvest or sends home a loaded ship. It is easy enough for a tuneful harp to whisper music when the winds blow; the difficulty is for music to carry when no wind is stirring. It is easy to sing when we can read the notes by daylight; but it takes a skillful singer whose song springs forth when there is not a ray of light to read by. No man can make a song in the night by himself; he may attempt it, but he will find that a song in the night must be divinely inspired.

Let everything go well, then I can weave songs, fashioning them from the flowers that grow upon my path; but put me in a desert, where no green thing grows, and with what shall I frame a hymn of praise to God? How shall a mortal man make a crown for the Lord without jewels? Let this voice be clear and this body full of health, and I can sing God’s praise: Silence my tongue, put me on a bed of suffering, and how will I then chant God’s high praises, unless He Himself provides the song? No, it is not in man’s power to sing when everything is against him, unless an altar-coal shall touch his lip.

It was a divine song from Habakkuk that filled the night when he sang, “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”1 So, since our Maker gives “songs in the night,” let us wait upon Him for the music. Chief musician, let us not remain songless because we face affliction, but tune our lips to the melody of thanksgiving.

    1) Habakkuk 3:17-18

  5. My MIL took an extra dose of one drug. The doctor either did not mention her not taking the dose she had, or she missed that. Fortunately, it was corrected before and real damage happened.

My sister used a quite good size plastic box with enough dividers to put the pills in not only by days of the weeks but marked for different times. It was a big help for my mom. Vitamins could also be put in that, because if you take vitamins or supplements, they can also interfere with different medications.

That doesn’t even consider memory issues or added pain killers.

  6. Prayers for Jo’s family situation.

Lord, please hold Jo ever closer to You, day by day, so she is insulated from the stings of rejection that she feels. I pray that any hard hearts in her family will feel conviction stinging them. Please open their hearts and fill them with pure love for You that overflows to Jo and others they have treated poorly. I pray You will make new paths forward, ways that Jo can be included more frequently in family plans, if possible. But if not being included is shielding her from even greater hurt and conflict, I pray she will find contentment in the knowledge that You are acting to protect her from evils unknown.

Thank You, Lord, that You go before us, reside within us, and have our back. Thank You that You have planned good for us whether we can see it now or must wait for awareness. Help us to daily trust more thoroughly in You for everything that affects our lives. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
