  1. Well that’s weird….

“Before the 2020 election, Stephen Colbert said it was immoral to vote for Trump because his administration had lost track of 545 migrant children.

The Harris/Biden administration has lost track of hundreds of thousands of migrant children, many sold into labor and sex trafficking.

For some reason Stephen Colbert didn’t think it was important enough to bring up while drinking beer with Kamala.”

  2. Clueless and powerless, that’s the real Kamala.

“Harris – “I’m here to tell you to prepare for the Hurricane and the governors won’t take my call.” (Stages photo op)

Biden – “The governor has my cell phone number. We’re coordinating everything.”

    DeSantis – “Yep. Everything’s good.”

Harris – “Okay well don’t you dare price gouge. I will hold you responsible.”

DeSantis – “Yeah we already have a law for that.””

  3. Kamala is promising to up her game when it comes to lawfare against her rivals and those who won’t to her official line.

“Kamala Harris: “We’ll put the Department of Justice of the United States back in the business of justice. We will double the Civil Rights Division and direct law enforcement to counter this extremism. We will hold social media platforms accountable for the hate infiltrating their platforms, because they have a responsibility to help fight against this threat to our democracy. And if you profit off of hate, if you act as a megaphone for misinformation or cyber warfare, if you don’t police your platforms, we are going to hold you accountable as a community.””

  4. CBS sucks at their job. This is just one more reason why.

    “CBS News this week:

    1. They diced the “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala to cover for her incoherence.

    2. After Tony Dokoupil asked actual questions of race grifter Ta-Nehisi Coates, the insane Lefties of the newsroom rebelled.

    3. Apology by the brass.

    4. CBS News tells its staff to pretend that Jerusalem is not in Israel.

Yes, they’re fake news. Literally fake news.”

  5. Well this is odd. I’ve been told challenging election results is a bad thing.

I guess that only applies when Rs do it.

“A Harris campaign staffer reveals to Axios that their Sunbelt internal polling is so bad they’re recognizing the only viable path forward for Harris is winning both MI and PA; two states where she’s under water with key demographics.

The staffer noted that a sense of impending doom hangs heavily over the campaign in its final weeks, with a Trump return now feeling inevitable.

    The joy is gone.”

  7. This is why dems love mail in ballots. It’s so easy to corrupt the system with them. There “ballot harvesting” is illegal and corrupt as well.

    https://x.com/JohnLeFevre/status/1844325776017014891?t=cVN_uQtadM8JBeu3i98wKQ&s=19

“Why do Democrats push so hard to have mail-in ballots?

Because they (ActBlue, Arabella, etc.) pay poor people to collect ballots from high density, low income apartment building mail rooms, full of low information voters who don’t vote (or even check their mail).

There’s so much transience in these buildings that they often have 5x as many ballots (from outdated voter rolls) as current, legal residents.

The paid relational activists fill out the ballots and are incentivized monetarily to attest that they did so honestly – giving plausible deniability and legal protection to the organizers of the ballot harvesting.”

  8. While we know this world is not our home we find ourselves in it…not of it. That does not mean we should not care about the evil swirling about us. Taking a stand for what is right before God is never wrong.

  9. I am with you on that, NJ. But I recognize that there are those with strongly held beliefs, especially of the predestined Christians (but not all of those), who are of another mindset than those who lean toward freewill beliefs, and they seem to believe that God already has a done deal so all they need do is sit back and let Him take care of it while they watch.

I think God has some kind of balancing act going on with freewill and predestination. None of us can fully understand it with what He gave us in the word. Maybe it is in His plan for some to lean one way and others to lean the other way. Thinking on it that way allows me to give more grace for the others on the teeter-totter.

We don’t have to be angry at those who see it differently. They don’t have to keep pushing their views on us as if we are less righteous. I do believe God chose us all to give us His gift of faith. We believe differently therefore act differently.

It is frustrating, yes, indeed. It can feel insulting and offensive, yes, indeed. But we can let God’s love prevail. I am telling myself this as much as anyone else.

  11. Still pondering what a “predestined Christian” is 🙂 But no, the doctrine of God’s sovereignty certainly does not tell us to “sit back” and do nothing.

  12. DJ,

“But no, the doctrine of God’s sovereignty certainly does not tell us to “sit back” and do nothing.”

And yet that is exactly what many plan on doing come election day, when they can actually do something about that evil, by their own admission…..

  13. Janice – As one who has come to lean more towards the doctrine of predestination (but still wonder if, as you said, the truth is an unfathomable combination of the two views), I will say that no, we don’t believe that “all [we] need do is sit back and let Him take care of it while [we] watch.”

Like most Christians of both the “freewill” and “predestination” views, and those in between, DJ and I believe that we should seek God and pray about who to vote for. Why God wouldn’t lead all praying believers to support the same candidates and political views is a mystery. But that goes into the “His ways are far higher than our ways” basket, I guess.

As for “pushing their views on us as if we are less righteous,” I can assure you that we don’t feel that way. Besides that, these threads are supposed to be open to all of us sharing our views, and the views of the majority are expressed much more often than we express our views.

Regarding “as if we are less righteous,” neither DJ nor I have said anything like that, but we have been told many times that not casting a vote for Trump is in effect casting a vote for evil.

  14. A decision to vote for neither of the main candidate options — when neither is deemed “good” choices — is not inaction. It is most certainly an action.

Janice, I have to echo what Kizzie said, we do not consider ourselves “more righteous.”

Neither are we supporting evil for having different voting preferences.

I’m sorry that other views aren’t welcome here. It didn’t used to be that way, but clearly the times have changed. Opposing views, on the most contentious days — and when they dare to be expressed — are sometimes met with vitriol and unfair accusations. It’s not pleasant. Or fair.

We realize we are not welcome and so we don’t come here very often. When we do, I’d say those of us in the unwanted minority are intentionally careful about what we say – and how we say it.

  15. I do think predestination is fairly clear, scripturally, as is God’s sovereignty. It’s hard to miss, though none of it can be fully grasped by us – because we are the creatures, God is the Creator. Someday it will all make sense, even to us.

But I generally think it’s advisable — picking up on what M posted the other day — for all of us (myself included first and foremost in this, trust me) — to spend more time learning from the scriptures during what has become a very contentious time in our little (and likely transitory but loved) nation here on earth. It will pass eventually. But these are some rough waters we’re in. I don’t like to see us turning on each other.

  16. I used to be predestination only having been brought up in a mainline Presbyterian church. Eventually after reading the Bible I had more understanding. It was something I spoke with the Baptist pastor about before joining. It was a bit of a sticking point for me. There are Scriptures that support both. The pastor said he does not know how God does it but He reconciles the two. I accepted that and joined the Baptist church realizing there is a place for both to happen and also realizing some churches lean one way and other churches (made up of individuals) lean the other way. I think those that don’t master a balancing act between the two can find themselves thinking either that their actions are more of a deciding factor in how God acts or accepting that inaction is okay because God is gonna do what He’s gonna do. These are my personal observations. I don’t expect others to agree with how I view things, but wanted to explain so I can be clear as mud.

I don’t mean to offend, just saying how I view the situation. I truly believe we all have those logs in our eyes but are trying to see around them and give grace.

  17. Having found myself the bottom dog in a dog pile a while back I will say those feeling unwanted here are not alone. You may be in a different corner but in the same ring so to speak. I have had my words twisted by some here, called out to be “in sin” and thoroughly dismissed as almost being a heretic. So yes, when that happens I step away. I don’t need to be patted on the head for “controlling” my tongue and I don’t need to be chastised for speaking up.

When there are two choices one must choose. We all enjoy our freedoms in this country. If “the other side” wins, which can only happen by fraud and those remaining silent…we lose those freedoms. So in essence when not standing with the ones on the front line they burn down their own houses. In the end we are all responsible for our own choices.

I do see some of what Janice pointed out in her post. The “oh I have been where you are” as though some are more “enlightened” than others.
