Overcast and cool this morning, I do think we have escaped any major heat waves this summer once again. Always thankful for that.
Very busy week at work, but today (so far) looks easy — and it’s actually “my” Friday as I’m taking tomorrow off as a vacation day. Then I’ll have Monday off (Labor Day) as well, so that turned out well.
It will be our second day of near record breaking heat at 97°, the same high as yesterday. I am not out in it so not too affected by it, but the air is overall not so fresh. Glad I now have the two Air Doctor air purifiers. I think we might get rain to help cool things down. I don’t think of this as a heat wave so far. No talk of that terrible heat dome.
After a few days in the 90s and heat index around 100, it looks like the weekend will be very nice.
Quite a pair of storms blew through Tuesday afternoon and late Tuesday night. We managed not to lose power this time but about 300,000 households in the area did.

High of 74 here today and “mostly cloudy” – the marine layer is with us once again.

We’re up to 93, and I was down by the lake for a couple of hours and came back drenched with sweat.
