They then use an AI-generated voice to convince people that Biden was congratulating Kamala (she almost blew the cover by referring to “a recording”). Someone tested the recording, and the result was 98% that it was AI-generated. They finally let Biden out of isolation after the coup was complete.
Biden then delivers an 11-min “explanation speech” (another pre-recording) in which, incredibly, he fails to explain why he was quitting. Karine Jean-Pierre claimed beforehand that the ‘speech’ would be powerful, but it was just empty, void – he’s a tired old man who is finished. (25th Amendment, anyone?)
They’re now seeking to install Kamala (also part of the coup), who hasn’t won a single Dem primary vote. She’s so bad that despite promoting her so that they can keep the campaign money, she is most likely just a placement until they can replace her with someone else who will at least stand a chance to win.

Been awhile since I commented here. Its summer and I have time. Not to mention US politics finally got interesting again in the last weeks.
Debra – I can’t take the breibart article seriously — using Global Times as a source? its like quoting Pravda in 1979. As for the Trump effect — that’s more about Putin’s willingness to continue and the Russian military strategy. The Russians are willing to wait for Trump to win which they regard as favourable to Russia. In the meantime they have stuck to simple WWI type tactics of trench warfare and are slowly eating up Ukraine about 10 meters a day. This suits the Ukrainians as they have been told the massive salients in the trench line are unsustainable and as the smaller force they need to straighten out their lines. Hence the Ukrainians are slowly retreating into more defensive lines. Its a slow stagnating war — I don’t see any real changing points here.
China’s role is interesting as they have really stepped up in the last decade – BRI, African land investment, and trying to mediate different conflicts. They have really benefited by the US being too one sided in their foreign policy.
This is really obvious in the Israeli-Gaza dispute. Bringing Bibi to Washington probably destroyed any influence the US had left. Right now, there is an agreement in principle that the Israeli military and parliament favour but Bibi and the cabinet refuse to accept it. The hostages would be returned if the agreement is accepted – Bibi cares only to use the hostages as an excuse for his actions, and is pursuing genocidal tactics.
Bibi, like Putin, is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes. Putin played it safe and stayed away from the BRICS summit in South Africa last year. With Bibi wandering freely in Washington, Putin won’t be nearly so cautious. With the US Congress being more supportive of Bibi than Israel itself, it’s no wonder China is now heavily involved in mediating an end to the Gaza conflict.
Its an interesting conspiracy with stopped time and Jill Biden and I’d investigate it but I like the story I’m getting from the left.
Apparently Biden has held a grudge against the Clinton faction of the party all the way back to 2016. Instead of running as Obama’s successor he was pushed aside and told to endorse Clinton. He still feels he would’ve easily beaten Trump in 2016 (very likely true). For him much of the pressure to not run again comes from the Clinton (right or wrong). Hence he waited as long as possible so he could anoint Harris and stop Clinton from trying again. The timing – just days after the convention is seen as a master troll job. The Republicans just spent days talking about an old senile man and now there’s only one left in the race.
I like Joe, always have even before the Obama era. Personally I think his physical health was starting to become an issue and his mind was still sharp.
Harris does shake up the race and has left the Republicans scrambling – waiting until after the convention, no matter what story line you follow was a masterstroke. I’m not a big fan of hers — I see her as too conservative and her willingness to throw many urban youth in jail for minor drug offences may still haunt her and it does speak to her willingness to do anything for a win.
Rasmussesn has had a really bad track record in the last decade. I’m surprised it’s still taken seriously by poll readers. The conventional wisdom is to spot them 2 to 4 percentage points to compensate for their Republican leanings. It will take a few weeks and a few different polls to assess the Harris effect.
The real issue is enthusiasm. Trump’s numbers have barely changed in the last decade. It’s not a a matter of votes but can the Democrats motivate people to the polls. More specifically can their candidate motivate urban voters in Milwaukee, Detroit, and Philadelphia (also Atlanta). Clinton could not, Biden did. Can Harris? Outside of those three cities it really doesn’t matter too much if Harris can motivate independents or even African Americans but African Americans in those three cities. Right now I’m seeing a huge increase in voter interest and motivation for Harris whether its sustainable or the correct groups remains to be seen.
It seems rather farcical that American democracy depends on such slice and dice voting blocs but given the electoral college its the only way to victory. On a straight popular vote the Dems could run a dead horse and win.
A bonus for all Americans if she wins; perhaps the parties will realise its best to wait till the end of July before announcing a candidate. Imagine a one night country wide primary in August, convention in September and six weeks of campaigning.
The problem with the video at 2:09 is that the “Ku Klux Klan” quote is separate from the rest of the context. It starts with her saying those words, but doesn’t include the rest of the sentence or question they were included in. The video was cut to include those words but not the beginning of the sentence. And then that smidgeon of a sound bite is tacked onto the end of the video as well.

Border Czar — is this what Republicans are resorting to? Whether or not she had a make believe job, a title probably created the media? Does the Republican party want to argue who is the law and order candidate? A convicted felon or a former prosecutor who’s nickname on the left is Cop-mala or Blue line Harris?
Is she really the most liberal Senator? (and what does liberal mean in the US again) More left than Sanders? If the Republicans keep buttering her up, the left might actually get out and vote.
And finally, the Marshall’s instruction contained in one of the tweets linked here. Those are standard boilerplate instructions for any political parade or union march. There’s nothing nefarious there. Some pro-Hamas supporters may have something planned but this is not evidence.
I’ve looked at the political threads from the last two days to see if anyone has commented on the contents of last night’s speech by Biden, and no one seems to have done so, and so I will.
The speech was set up by the White House press secretary saying that he wasn’t resigning due to health reasons . . . which is more than a little interesting . . . and that he’d give the reason in his speech.
As best I understood what he said, he is pulling out early even though he has a wonderful record and deserves a second term, because he loves America more than he values his office, and because leaving now is the best way to save democracy.
Which is mind-blowing on several levels. Most significantly:
The Democratic primary went heavily for Biden. But Biden wants to step aside (or is made willing, more or less, to step aside) to support democracy, contrary to the actual voting.
Democrats and Republicans alike have been in firm agreement that Biden had almost no chance to win this election. Meaning: The American people heavily favor Donald Trump. Now, admittedly, Americans also heavily disfavored another match-up between Trump and Biden. But how is “They’re going to vote for my opponent . . . eeeeek! gotta stop them” the democratic option?
Kamala Harris has never been the people’s choice. So, again, how is stepping aside and giving her the nod (if that is what the convention will do) the “democratic” option?
If Biden is stepping down for health reasons, then he shouldn’t be serving out his term either. If he’s stepping aside because someone else is a stronger candidate, then his handlers are trying to rewrite election law and precedent, or to start civil war if their attempts are legally stopped. Rank-and-file Democrats should be calling foul on this one.
You all know I wish we had a more conscientious choice than either man. I think our founding fathers would call for a pox on both their houses (and would be highly indignant at the way Kamala has been pushed in). However, the Democrats have spent eight years or so giving the implication that the only reason anyone would vote for Donald Trump is racism, lying about Russian interference, covering up actual crimes and scandals that would make their own side look bad. They impeached him twice, changed election laws in the middle of an election, and accused him of insurrection. They sent criminal charges his way, worked to send him to prison and/or bankrupt him, and also to destroy his reputation. When that didn’t work, they allowed or outright attempted assassination. And now suddenly the Democrats are the ones on the side of democracy, unity, and character?
I still wish we had better options. I don’t think the “best” man is on the ticket. But we are seeing some highly undemocratic shenanigans, and the Democrats absolutely cannot claim the constitutional high ground. And that speech was a shocking rewriting of history (and current events) while claiming moral and political superiority.
We have done more Harris polling than almost any pollster. So this is no surprise to us. And it’s consistent with our last Biden v Trump poll. She did not improve on Biden.”

Been awhile since I commented here. Its summer and I have time. Not to mention US politics finally got interesting again in the last weeks.
Debra – I can’t take the breibart article seriously — using Global Times as a source? its like quoting Pravda in 1979. As for the Trump effect — that’s more about Putin’s willingness to continue and the Russian military strategy. The Russians are willing to wait for Trump to win which they regard as favourable to Russia. In the meantime they have stuck to simple WWI type tactics of trench warfare and are slowly eating up Ukraine about 10 meters a day. This suits the Ukrainians as they have been told the massive salients in the trench line are unsustainable and as the smaller force they need to straighten out their lines. Hence the Ukrainians are slowly retreating into more defensive lines. Its a slow stagnating war — I don’t see any real changing points here.
China’s role is interesting as they have really stepped up in the last decade – BRI, African land investment, and trying to mediate different conflicts. They have really benefited by the US being too one sided in their foreign policy.
This is really obvious in the Israeli-Gaza dispute. Bringing Bibi to Washington probably destroyed any influence the US had left. Right now, there is an agreement in principle that the Israeli military and parliament favour but Bibi and the cabinet refuse to accept it. The hostages would be returned if the agreement is accepted – Bibi cares only to use the hostages as an excuse for his actions, and is pursuing genocidal tactics.
Bibi, like Putin, is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes. Putin played it safe and stayed away from the BRICS summit in South Africa last year. With Bibi wandering freely in Washington, Putin won’t be nearly so cautious. With the US Congress being more supportive of Bibi than Israel itself, it’s no wonder China is now heavily involved in mediating an end to the Gaza conflict.

Its an interesting conspiracy with stopped time and Jill Biden and I’d investigate it but I like the story I’m getting from the left.
Apparently Biden has held a grudge against the Clinton faction of the party all the way back to 2016. Instead of running as Obama’s successor he was pushed aside and told to endorse Clinton. He still feels he would’ve easily beaten Trump in 2016 (very likely true). For him much of the pressure to not run again comes from the Clinton (right or wrong). Hence he waited as long as possible so he could anoint Harris and stop Clinton from trying again. The timing – just days after the convention is seen as a master troll job. The Republicans just spent days talking about an old senile man and now there’s only one left in the race.
I like Joe, always have even before the Obama era. Personally I think his physical health was starting to become an issue and his mind was still sharp.
Harris does shake up the race and has left the Republicans scrambling – waiting until after the convention, no matter what story line you follow was a masterstroke. I’m not a big fan of hers — I see her as too conservative and her willingness to throw many urban youth in jail for minor drug offences may still haunt her and it does speak to her willingness to do anything for a win.

Rasmussesn has had a really bad track record in the last decade. I’m surprised it’s still taken seriously by poll readers. The conventional wisdom is to spot them 2 to 4 percentage points to compensate for their Republican leanings. It will take a few weeks and a few different polls to assess the Harris effect.
The real issue is enthusiasm. Trump’s numbers have barely changed in the last decade. It’s not a a matter of votes but can the Democrats motivate people to the polls. More specifically can their candidate motivate urban voters in Milwaukee, Detroit, and Philadelphia (also Atlanta). Clinton could not, Biden did. Can Harris? Outside of those three cities it really doesn’t matter too much if Harris can motivate independents or even African Americans but African Americans in those three cities. Right now I’m seeing a huge increase in voter interest and motivation for Harris whether its sustainable or the correct groups remains to be seen.
It seems rather farcical that American democracy depends on such slice and dice voting blocs but given the electoral college its the only way to victory. On a straight popular vote the Dems could run a dead horse and win.
A bonus for all Americans if she wins; perhaps the parties will realise its best to wait till the end of July before announcing a candidate. Imagine a one night country wide primary in August, convention in September and six weeks of campaigning.

The problem with the video at 2:09 is that the “Ku Klux Klan” quote is separate from the rest of the context. It starts with her saying those words, but doesn’t include the rest of the sentence or question they were included in. The video was cut to include those words but not the beginning of the sentence. And then that smidgeon of a sound bite is tacked onto the end of the video as well.
According to the article below:

(There may be videos edited in a choppy way and yet accurate, but they should not be trusted until the matter is looked into elsewhere.)

Border Czar — is this what Republicans are resorting to? Whether or not she had a make believe job, a title probably created the media? Does the Republican party want to argue who is the law and order candidate? A convicted felon or a former prosecutor who’s nickname on the left is Cop-mala or Blue line Harris?
Is she really the most liberal Senator? (and what does liberal mean in the US again) More left than Sanders? If the Republicans keep buttering her up, the left might actually get out and vote.

I’ve looked at the political threads from the last two days to see if anyone has commented on the contents of last night’s speech by Biden, and no one seems to have done so, and so I will.
The speech was set up by the White House press secretary saying that he wasn’t resigning due to health reasons . . . which is more than a little interesting . . . and that he’d give the reason in his speech.
As best I understood what he said, he is pulling out early even though he has a wonderful record and deserves a second term, because he loves America more than he values his office, and because leaving now is the best way to save democracy.
Which is mind-blowing on several levels. Most significantly:
I still wish we had better options. I don’t think the “best” man is on the ticket. But we are seeing some highly undemocratic shenanigans, and the Democrats absolutely cannot claim the constitutional high ground. And that speech was a shocking rewriting of history (and current events) while claiming moral and political superiority.
