  1. First? I miss the days when Chas would be telling us to get up and get going by this time in the morning.

I’m up but not rested. I’m giving a “wild adventure” tour today and didn’t sleep well. I only got 3½ hours.

  2. Ugh on the lack of sleep, Peter. Is the tour in the cave? At least the cool should keep you awake, if it is.

My husband has a gig and for once I will not be going with him. It will be nice to be home after so many gigs this week (a rare five in all).

I am still in shock from hearing you can go to DQ for breakfast. 😉

We are finally getting Chik fil a within 65 miles from us. I am not sure how often we will get there. We are supposed to get a Taco Bell. The lot has been prepared since spring, but nothing seems to be happening. We could use some more good restaurants.

One of yesterday’s gigs was a vintage car show that is held every summer at an assisted living facility. Food and treats are all served outside. The cars are all near where the food and tables are. It seems a very fun way to provide entertainment and conversation for residents and their guests. I know several of the car show attendees and they love showing off their cars. A couple of them love to dance, too, and take advantage of the opportunity.

  3. Morning! Cooler day with expected showers this afternoon. We had a wee shower yesterday and it smells very piney out there😊

Hoping for sleep to find you later on Peter… not this afternoon of course!

Kathaleena I saw about 20 Model T cars coming down the road the other day! It just makes me smile to see those vintage cars!

  4. Janice, I was puzzled to read your post last night about Chik-fil-A falling behind Del Taco and KFC in fast food sales. Chik-fil-A doesn’t have that many stores compared to the really big chains, and Del Taco is in only 18 states.

Was that perhaps a sales-per-store figure?

  5. Peter’s leading a wild adventure tour? On 3 hours of sleep? What could go wrong?

I woke up to the deep moans of the harbor fog horns, we apparently were socked in this morning. But a little ways up the hill we now have some sunshine.

I haven’t heard the sea lions in a while.

  6. morning all. Waiting on the pest control guy to take care of all the spiders and webs on the back deck. It has been a year so time to get it done. I hesitate and wait to call as they take care of it for free

but it is looking bad out there

  7. Y’all are all early birds today. I missed the worm. I am about to have lunch. I got busy doing my Bible study in James for Tues. group time. Also, still keeping busy putting lost app icons on my new phone. Busy, busy, busy . . .

  8. I haven’t had breakfast, and it’s almost lunch time.

Eggs or cereal or toaster waffles or low-fat cottage cheese (out of yogurt).

    Maybe an omelette?

    Hold the worms.

  9. We have many chick fil A’s around here. The nearest one to us is about 20 minutes away. Seriously we need such a well run model in government!!! Fast, courteous and no mistakes. They serve the people…isn’t that supposed to be how the government is run??

  10. Inquiring minds want to know.

It went well. Fatigue didn’t catch up until I got home so took an hour nap this afternoon. I still feel groggy. I hope I sleep better tonight.

Last night’s insomnia was like whenever I’m going to take a long trip in the morning and think about it while trying to go to sleep.

  11. I am on web patrol outside every day with my long poles …

And webs are appearing in Charlie Brown 2 which is not good for juvenile trees (they’re from a particular moth that likes trees but is not good for them, I read).

I also get webs daily forming on PJ’s side-view mirrors.

  12. Happy Sunday, Y’all! It’s staying rainy and cool here. The yard is growing like weeds. That’s because it is weeds! Except for the sod. So glad to again notice yesterday the ajuga looking good in the area where the sod did not thrive.

Looking forward to church soon. First, the tv program, The Georgia Gang. Should be a good discussion today. Taking notes on how to remain civil in political discussions.

  13. We had a visiting pastor, an older black pastor, from Maryland, who did the sermon on prayer. He was very good. Not sure where our pastor was. Art thought maybe they did a pastor exchange since we support a church in Baltimore and do mission trips there.

  14. it seems crazy, but I could not turn off my new phone for church time. It is not a simple thing anymore. It said I have to hold down the side button and slide something on the screen but obviously I lack the coordination to do it! I put it in airplane mode. Why is everything getting so much more complicated? Is it a security thing?

  15. So what’s new?

Yeah, I heard belatedly about Biden’s long-awaited announcement.

We had a guest (but frequently so) pastor today as well, excellent sermon out of Romans and “what then shall we say?” touching on God’s sovereignty in salvation — and all else.

    No cause for worry.

  16. Humidity ugh! Janice I do remember those hot humid southern summers!

We had a huge downpour of rain last night and we are currently 58 degrees with thunderstorms! Much need moisture and welcomed coolness. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon😊🌧️

  17. Dad just went out to stretch his legs but before he got to the door to go out, he commented on how warm it was outside. It is one hundred. He only did one lap before coming back in.

  18. I got a baby cone at an ice cream shop, delicious. It was $1.85 which left me with 5 pennies

as I was eating it I remembered my ex sister in law loved that store so I texted her. I don’t watch much news so didn’t know that they had 7 1/2 days with no power and lots of heat and humidity after hurricane Beryl. Glad that I connected
