This is also the actual anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It’s the day the Continental Congress voted for independence. July 4th is when they ratified the document.
We have a drizzly cloudyish morning here. Another big hair day I suppose!
Been up since 2…husband off climbing Mt Elbert again with a friend. He will be taking a couple low landers from Louisiana up there next week and he wanted to check out the trail conditions beforehand. Can’t keep him off mountains and out of trees!
Good morning and Happy Anniversary to mumsee and Mike.
We ran into a complication with the new stove hood (but of course). The wiring from the old one is on the left, while the new one has the wiring on the right. It is the same brand. Now we have called a couple of electricians. We haven’t heard back from either yet. My husband wired our whole house, but he cannot do that anymore. The floor is being put in today. The guying doing it is a Christian and is listening to Christian music as he works.
Good morning, all, and thank you. Forty five years! Fever is down to more and less one hundred so the achiness, freezing, and headache are all gone. Still very weary.
I’m just back from the dentist (regular cleaning) and stacking some short stories up for the long weekend.
We have the 92-year-old Italian tall ship that came in this morning (we had 2 photographers on that, one doing it via drone — port was trying to get us on their boat for a photo from that angle but too many safety logistics for small boats; but we should get some nice shots of the ship coming through the breakwater and around the lighthouse). I’ll cover the opening ceremonies tomorrow morning, they’ll be here for 4 days, part of their world tour, with all kinds of activities.
And the longshore union celebrates its 90th “Bloody Thursday” event on Friday, commemorating the founding of the union which wound up in some rather rough street encounters with police back in the day, both in LA and SF. Ports are closed for that anniversary and the unions have processions, picnics, political speeches (especially in election years), etc.
lol, I was at the doc’s office this a.m. and got the alternative kit to submit a sample but it might give a false positive and still require the loathed procedure above all other loathed procedures.
Also, I will join the Senior Pill Club starting with a trial of a BP pill.
I went to Bible study group after the doc appointment. We finished the Kingdom Authoroty study and will dig into the book of James next. Can’t wait!!!
This is a confusing week juggling holiday copy and plans, visiting ship schedules, what’s happening when and where, trying to keep dates straight for photo assignments (already got one of those wrong — forehead slap — photo editor caught it and he’s juggling even more than I am).
Happy Anniversary, mumsee and Mike.

I trust that Mumsee is feeling better and is ready to celebrate
I am in a doctors waiting room waiting for my friend who is having the procedure that we all dread

I survived buying a new phone. It was touch and go there, several times, but a younger tech-savvy friend helped.
Honestly, it required four trips to the Apple store and hours trying to get the AppleID figured out.

Happy Anniversary, big sister and brother-in-law!
“The procedure we all dread.” There’s only one of those? 🙂

I have no idea what she is talking about!
Thanks for the story on the church yesterday, Janice, neat to see how God works in different ways.

Kevin,
I was thinking the same thing. I’ve learned to dread a lot of “procedures” as they like to call them…
It would be hard to narrow it down.
I’m pretty sure I know the one of which she speaks, and yeah, it’s on my list too.
Jo,
You’re a good friend for helping her. No one likes medical procedures alone. Its nice to have some support. 🙂

Didn’t I read where they’re close to coming up with a blood test that can replace “the procedure we all dread”?

It is a confusing week considering the holiday movie on tv is playing Jingle Bell Rock (Hallmark Christmas in July)!
