  1. Morning!! Those are peonies from my grocery store! My two little sprouts out in my garden are pitiful!😊 Peonies and ranunculus are my favorite flowers 💐

  2. Those are beautiful, NJ. I can undetstand why they are your favorites. They have been so beautiful here this year.

It was a good time at the really large women’s Bible study last night. It was like a conference setting with large round tables and a packed house for pizza, salad, and a feast on God’s word.

I sat beside a lady who has lost her sight in the last four years. She will be having her first visit with the Center for the Visually Impaired this month. Unlike my vision loss, shd is almost totally blind. I told her about Marta Mobility which encouraged her. It was a divine appointment for us to meet.

  3. Good morning, all. A beautiful sunshine day here. Our peonies are working away on their blossoms. I just had daughter put a twine fence around the big one to keep some of the blooms off the ground so we can enjoy them.

  4. I have the attic fan on to cool off the house a bit before it gets into the 90s again

my leg is aching as I was on my feet too much yesterday. The funeral for Eleanor was beautiful. The parents told their story. She was beautiful and they were so grateful to meet her.

  5. I like peonies, too. I did have a bush from one my mom had, but it did not survive. We have clay for soil, and I probably did not put in the soil necessary for it to survive. I am amazed at some of the plants that do survive in the spots that still don’t have really good soil. Over the years I have put in better soil in some areas. I have also given up on some areas. It made me realize how much help my father was for the beautiful yards and gardens my parents had.

We have standing water again and more storms predicted. However, it is blue skies and sunshine right now. My daughter has a grad party this weekend and is concerned any chairs on her lawn may sink! We are inundated with water (and she is, too, although she is almost four hours from us). Meanwhile, my sister has drought in Florida. These are things I can know in real time. The generations before us would not have known for days, weeks, months or not at all. What a blessing instant communication can be!

The internet and NJ also helped me learn what a ranunculus is. 🙂

  6. We’ve had many rain showers lately so the plants are thriving and blooming more than ever.

Part of Atlanta suffered a water main break recently and finally yesterday all the people affected got service restored, but they are still under boil water alert. The Army Corp of Engineers got called in to help. I felt sorry for the many affected.

  7. We have a plan to take a drive to the Clovis dig this morning. Right now my dad is getting his monthly spa treatment from brother: shower, shave, haircut. Husband is off for his Wednesday visit with daughter.

  8. Beach release of recovered starving pelicans and graduation photo assignments.

And that about sums up my news day.

@Janice 8:49, so glad God connected you with the other woman with eyesight issues.

  9. NJ, so where are the moths in that photo?

Took Abby on her full walk tonight, I’ve had a muscle pull or something in my one leg so have had to take it easy; did a short walk at 8 p.m. last night but weirdly ran into a lot more dog walkers than I do at 7:20 p.m. (our usual time).

So that meant some abrupt street crossings (Abby’s friendly but as my trainer reminds people — and as I’ve learned from the past — “distance is your friend”); also had to make some other route changes.

So we came home too quickly for Abby last night.

Tonight was back to normal and she and I were happy, regular time, regular longer route. I’ll see by tomorrow if that was a mistake for my leg or not.

  10. That photo was taken early morning at my desk window. I sit there and watch the birds swoop out of the trees and catch their moth breakfast!! It is fascinating to watch. Usually during the day the moths are hunkered down under and behind things..especially behind the downspouts and gutters! I picked up a watering can today and there were around fifty or so all huddled under it. Pip loved giving chase after them! Almost as much fun as chasing the ball! We can package up some for Abby to play with!😊
