  1. Good morning! It’s a brisk 32° this a.m.

After I saw Art off to work I made some herbal tea and now I plan to get back into Genesis. It’s nice to study it with both the M-F online ladies’ group and with my Sunday school group. The two studies are not repeating each other. I learn something new every day! The Bible is so rich with things for us to soak in and treasure.

  2. Good morning, all. After Bible reading this morning, I was able to enjoy a magnificent sunrise. The color in the air was amazing. Put in mind thoughts of the throne room of God.

  3. sunny and chilly here. I remembered to plan time to scrape ice off the car

made a tasty soup last night but had a tummy ache all night as the broth included onions. Now I’ve been invited to a potluck tonight so will take the yummy soup

  4. Your trip to the Artic sounds interesting. But why go in winter? I guess if you’ve never experienced the really cold weather, I mean what’s actually colder than an LA dog park, going North in winter is a necessity.

As for the aurora borealis, I’ve only seen a little bit of it once when we could actually see them here. They were a thin line in the northern horizon.

  5. Friend of mine went to Alaska on a family vacation in the winter, too — they got a sled dog ride, but she didn’t mention the lights. She did say it was cold. 🙂

Woke up to a deluge of rain that lasted several hours. Cars underwater in the city next door. Bigger storm coming next week.

Election coverage nightmare at work, wading through 18 candidates for 4 LA school board seats … about 1/3 of them I can’t find phone or email contacts for yet.

  6. I think it was in the winter. But who can tell maybe, right? It’s Alaska.

(Another friend moved up there, though, she and her daughter love cold weather and they said it wasn’t quite as cold as they’d hoped. I think they were going through a dry / warm spell back in those few years they were there.)

  7. My brother and his wife moved to Alaska for a while but he worked outside and was allergic to glacier dust so moved back to Idaho. Some of their children still live there and do lots of fun Alaska stuff.

Speaking of moving. Son in law plans to move out shortly. But his place and his dog’s will be taken. A twenty five year old son is moving back home for a few months. He has been living north of here, working with his sister and brother in law to learn a lot about carpentry and house renovation. After flipping houses for a while he bought one and has it rented out to several single guys. He came down here to do some small projects and snagged a job with a local carpenter. Currently planning to head to North Dakota in May but could easily change his mind.

  8. We recently had a fellow from church take a tour to Iceland and he said the Northern Lights were wonderful. We see them here, though, as well. I have seen them when the whole sky was undulating with bright reds, greens and white swirls. It was absolutely breathtaking. I was a teen and have never seen them as beautiful as that evening.

  9. We saw that about twenty plus years ago. Came out off evening church to see the white and greenish curtains. Drove up onto the prairie and looked out a while later. The whole sky was undulating red with green and white highlights. Fantastic!

    good morning, all.
