  3. Paul’s comment about obeying those in authority was made to make clear an issue of his day. There were Jews telling others their absolute duty was to fight the secular authorities always and in anyway possible.. Paul is telling them that is not what they are to do. We cannot conclude from this verse (and others) that we mindlessly obey all authority put into office. We all know people who did that and thought it made them innocent of those who suffered and died as a result.

Whole books are written about the subject. Corrie Ten Boom’s family, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and many others struggled with the subject. It is not surprising we also struggle with the subject. It is another area where grace and humility should be extended.

    The Civil War
    The fight against abortion
The fight against the loss of parental authority
    The fight to home school
The fights around the world against tyranny

All come to mind. And the believers involved often struggled with that verse and others.

Grace and humility indeed are essential.

  5. Like good little minions, they do the bidding of their true masters, the baby killing industry who funds their campaigns.

“Pro-Life Groups Condemn Democrat AGs Letter Supporting ‘Misinformation’ About Pregnancy Centers

“Notice all of the AGs who signed onto this letter are in abortion states. Clearly, Big Abortion is pulling the strings on their political campaign dollars.””

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/10/pro-life-groups-condemn-democrat-ags-letter-supporting-misinformation-about-pregnancy-centers/

“More proof that Democrats don’t support choice. They support baby murder, aka abortion.

Pro-life groups have spoken out against the 16 state attorney generals who signed an open letter supporting Yelp after the company “put consumer warnings on their pro-life pregnancy center listings.”

Yelp is a website where you can visit and read reviews of local businesses.

    From Fox News:

“Pregnancy centers exist to help women in need by providing free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, medical exams, counseling, parenting classes, financial classes; items such as food, diapers, and clothing; and financial assistance for housing and utilities,” Kelsey Pritchard, Director of State Public Affairs for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America said.

“The twisted attempts to hinder pregnancy resource centers’ ability to serve women prove that Democrats are not pro-choice, they are pro-abortion. Today’s Democrats view success as more abortions and with the help of Yelp and Big Tech, they are concealing the options that exist for women,” she added.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued Yelp “for putting ‘misleading’ warnings on crisis pregnancy center listings.”

Paxton said: “Yelp cannot mislead and deceive the public simply because the company disagrees with our state’s abortion laws. Major companies cannot abuse their platforms and influence to control consumers’ behavior, especially on sensitive health issues like pregnancy and abortion.”

Rob Bonta, California general attorney, authored the letter while fifteen others signed it: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

    Where is Illinois? Weird.

The attorney generals lie right away about crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs):

Abortions and abortion services are healthcare. CPCs, however, actively aim to prevent people from accessing abortion care and do not provide abortions or abortion services. Accordingly, CPCs are, by their very nature, limited reproductive healthcare facilities—to the extent they provide healthcare services at all.

The “studies” the AGs cite only took place in nine states.

Unless the center or group is affiliated with a religion, especially Catholic, they give you information about ALL options, even abortion.

The AGs also claim that the CPCs “use deceptive tactics to lure in patients seeking actual reproductive healthcare.”

In other words, the AGs want a woman to have a doctor murder her unborn child. Disgusting.

This is why I label them pro-abortion.

Gah. I want to puke. Because, you know, Planned Parenthood is totally non-deceptive.

The phrase “reproductive healthcare” is deceptive!”

“NEW: The New York Times has rehired a reporter who has a history of publicly praising Adolf Hitler.

Soliman Hijjy, a Palestinian reporter, has contributed 9 articles for the New York Times since the Israel-Hamas war began.

Back in 2018, Hijjy took to Facebook to voice his support for Hitler: The photo was of himself and had the caption, “in a state of harmony as Hitler was during the Holocaust.”

In 2012, Hijjy posted an image of Hitler with the caption: “How great you are, Hitler.”

The Times, who knows about his anti-Semitism, seems to now be looking past his admiration for Hitler.

“Step aside Hillary, Joe Biden may become king of email scandals as new stash alarms investigators

Mountain of evidence? More than 82,000 private emails authored by Joe Biden under different names and located by the National Archives could be boon to Biden investigators and to a public with a right to know what its leaders have said and done.”

    https://justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/step-aside-hillary-joe-biden-may-become-king-email-scandals-new?callback=in&code=MDUWMWU5ZWUTNZM3MS0ZMDVMLTHHNTCTYZBHMDYZMTFKZJU5&state=427e0a0e65784684b20bd8b56baa7d11

“The National Archives’ stunning admission that it has located 82,000 pages of potentially government-related emails from Joe Biden’s pseudonymous private accounts not only threatens to supplant Hillary Clinton in the annals of email scandals, it could also provide a boon to the ongoing federal and congressional investigations into the Biden family.

The public is also sure to scrutinize the matter in upcoming elections.

The admission came out Monday as part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit brought by the non-profit Southeastern Legal Foundation.

“We’re duty bound to make sure that everybody’s following the law here. And it sure looks like that’s questionable at this moment,” Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., a member of the House Oversight Committee that is conducting the Biden impeachment inquiry right now, said hours after the revelation.

Perry told the John Solomon Reports podcast that lawmakers in Congress must take action to ensure all the emails are preserved given the history of Hillary Clinton’s team trying to delete her private emails or to destroy the devices they were stored on.

“We knew the left were going to do this,” Perry said of the extensive use of private email. “Hillary taught us and why would we think that Joe Biden would be any different?

“And as long as that’s the case, I think we got to make sure that, you know, that Joe Biden doesn’t have a hammer, sitting close to his phone, or, you know, I don’t know what they smashed him with hammers, I don’t know, if they set them on fire, they use bleachbit on the server,” he said. “I mean, we got to make sure that the American people can see what was so important to keep from the American people as one of the highest elected officials in the land. And the only way to do that is to make sure that that stuff is preserved.”

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., who first raised questions about President Biden’s use of private email years ago, said the discovery of the emails should be combed for potential evidence by every investigator from Congress to the Justice Department.

“It’s stunning, but when you consider the lawlessness of this administration, I guess it’s not surprising,” Johnson told the “Just the News, No Noise” television show Monday evening just hours after word of the email discovery broke.”

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/new-poll-exposes-flaw-in-trump-opponents-plan

“NEW POLL EXPOSES FLAW IN TRUMP OPPONENTS’ PLAN. The headline from a new Des Moines Register-NBC News poll of Iowa is that former President Donald Trump still has a big lead in the Republican race. Among those likely to take part in the Iowa caucuses, Trump is at 43%, with Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley tied for second place, at 16%. So, Trump has a 27-point lead, which is actually bigger than his lead in the last Des Moines Register poll in August.

A lot of news reports are emphasizing Haley’s rise in the poll. Back in August, her support was at 6%, and DeSantis’s was at 19%. Now, she has shot up 10 points to 16%, while DeSantis has slipped 3 points to 16. So, while they are in the same spot at the moment, it appears she is on the way up and he is on the way down.

But there’s bigger news than any of that in the poll. It concerns the depth of Trump’s strength.

You’ve often heard Trump opponents say they want to see the GOP field narrowed down as quickly as possible. That way, the thinking goes, the support from all the Trump opponents could come together behind one candidate to challenge Trump one-on-one. Look at Trump now, they say, with 43% support, versus everybody else with a combined 57%. Just get the rest of the field together behind one candidate, and Trump can be defeated.

The new poll shows it’s not going to be that easy. The Des Moines Register not only asked voters which candidate they supported but also which candidate would be their second choice if their first choice were no longer in the race. So, they asked people who now support DeSantis: Who’s your second choice? And they found out that 41% of current DeSantis supporters, if DeSantis were to leave the race, would switch to Trump. Just 27% of them say they would switch to Haley.

So, if DeSantis were to drop out today, it appears the largest part of his support would go to Trump, and not to the mythical unity anti-Trump candidate.”

For Haley, the numbers are different. Just 12% of those who support her today say they would go to Trump if she were to leave the race. But the bottom line is, there’s a flaw with the let’s-all-unite-behind-one-anti-Trump-candidate strategy. In real life, some of each candidate’s supporters would go to Trump if their favored candidate were to leave, and that makes Trump harder, not easier, to beat.

Haley appears to be attracting voters who really don’t like Trump. “To my mind, she’s done the best job of differentiating that she is the non-Trump candidate,” Des Moines Register pollster Ann Selzer said. For example, about 1 in 5 respondents in the Iowa poll call themselves independents. Back in August, Haley won the support of just 10% of them. Now, her support among independents is 22%. That’s a big move, although Trump’s support among independents is still significantly higher, at 33%.

What’s more, Haley’s voters aren’t really locked in for her. Forty-seven percent of Trump supporters say they are “extremely enthusiastic” about voting for the former president. For DeSantis, the number is 25%. For Haley, it’s 19%. “That may be a sign that although Haley is the only candidate seeing substantial upward momentum in this poll,” Selzer said, “the ground underneath her could be ‘a little shaky,'” the Des Moines Register reported.”

    “The Great Betrayal

The left’s reaction to the massacre in Israel has many progressive Jews in the West rethinking their past activism, political affiliations, and friendships.”

    https://www.thefp.com/p/the-great-betrayal

“After Donald Trump was elected, Emily Rose, 51, flew to New York with her daughters to walk in the Women’s March. She demonstrated on the streets of Minneapolis, where she lives, in the days after George Floyd’s murder. She donated money to small, black-led movements and social justice organizations that she believed in. She unlearned and then re-educated herself, as white Americans were instructed to, and read the teachings of anti-racist scholars like Ta-Nehisi Coates.

But then, after the massacre in Israel on October 7, when some 1,400 Jews were brutally murdered, not to mention the rapes, beheadings, and instances of torture, Rose began to notice something odd from the cohort of fellow progressives she admired: they were cheering for the other side.

“I started to see these intelligent, educated people, whose mission is to make our system better for people of color, suddenly posting all this anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian stuff,” Rose said. “I’m not changing my values, but screw the allyship. I will not stop fighting, because I believe in the causes themselves. But as for going out of my way to support, to post, to give money? I’m done.”

While professional politicos, like DSA founder Maurice Isserman, are publicly stepping down from their parties and denouncing organizations that justify, or even cheer, the events of October 7, and wealthy Jewish donors claw back their millions from elite universities that they say helped foment antisemitism on their campuses, there’s a quieter, more personal reckoning happening among progressive Jews. Like Rose, they feel betrayed by a left that they thought would have their backs.

Dov, 30, a Canadian musician who didn’t want to share her last name for privacy reasons, is transgender and a self-proclaimed “political progressive.” Since October 7, she says, “Every time I open Instagram I’m just like, blocking or deleting people that I thought I knew.” She calls anti-Zionism “cloaked antisemitism.”

Josh Gilman, 37, who lives in Arizona and prides himself on having friends across the political spectrum, says he has been muting even close friends who espouse anti-Zionist views. “I don’t need the emotional distress,” he told The Free Press. “If there’s someone who is truly my friend, it makes me feel that they very much don’t understand who I am as a person.” He’s cut out people he had invited to dinner at his home, and who he had trusted around his family and children.

“There’s a line in the sand, which is Israel,” he said.

Nate Clark, 34, lives in Virginia. He’s marched for gay rights, and in 2020, for the removal of statues of Confederate soldiers in his home state. He said his choice to stand up for others is rooted in his Jewish identity.

“As a Jew, I feel like it would be weird if I went to Germany and took a right turn down Hitler Avenue or saw a statue of Eichmann, and then hear people claim ‘Oh, it’s our history. We’re just proud of our history,’ ” he told me.

Since October 7, he’s found himself “politically homeless.”

The Jewish progressives The Free Press spoke to said they no longer believe in a left that sees their own people’s plight. They feel torn: they don’t want to give up on the progressive causes they’ve marched for and believe in. But groups like Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and Jewish Voice for Peace don’t speak for them, and they don’t feel kinship with Israel’s allies on the right—like evangelical Christians and social conservatives.

“When you look at the political right you see a group that seems very comfortable with Jews in Israel and very uncomfortable with Jews at home. And when you look at the political left, you see a group that seems very comfortable with Jews at home and very uncomfortable with Jews in Israel,” Clark said.

Amelia Adams, 26, a writer and comedian in New York, told me she first noticed Jewish suffering being downplayed in May 2021, during the last bout of violence between Hamas and Israel. She called it “the start of the gaslighting.”

Now, she said, it’s at another level. “People who have a lot of friends in the gay community and the trans community are like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ It’s hit LGBT Jews really hard. It’s like, ‘Where do we go from here?’ ”

Jack Hazan, a therapist in New York, agrees. He’s been hosting virtual group therapy sessions for Jews in the wake of the massacre. “I have clients in tears over this; we spend the entire session talking about it,” he says. A theme that’s come up again and again is betrayal, by best friends who parrot lines like “Israelis are guilty of settler colonialism,” or committing genocide.

He says there’s an element of shock among the many other Jewish people he counsels.

“You’re mourning the loss of who you thought was this confidant and friend, but what makes it doubly sad is that you feel the world is turned on you.”

So why does he think the left has turned on its own people?

“It’s not based on values or beliefs,” he replies, adding that the left’s view on Israel is part of a set of ideological platforms they can’t break from.

“Therefore,” he says, adopting the thinking of the progressive left: “I have to stick to my guns even though, you know, it seems a little crazy that a ninety-year-old woman is being escorted out of a tunnel, but it must not be that bad and there are two sides to the story.”

    He concludes: “It’s totally sick.””

Alex Mendez and his wife were previously charged in 2021 but the new charges are a lot more serious. The charges include conspiracy to commit election fraud, forgery, falsifying records, and witness tampering.

Mendez and others tried “to rig an election in their favor and to deprive the voters of Paterson of having their voices heard,” Attorney General Matthew Platkin.

According to the complaint, the insider alleged Mendez was there as “over 300 mail-in ballots” were placed “into the Haledon postal box.”

Mendez was also caught on audio recording discussing a false cover story that would be used if any person questioned him about those ballots. He also directed people around him to delete any communications of the scheme”

    • Zelensky’s close advisor warns that “He deludes himself. We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that.”

    • Ukraine’s shortage of soldiers is more dire than its deficit in arms and ammunition. Draft officers pull men off trains and buses and send them to the front.

    • The death toll has long surpassed 100,000 on each side of the war, forcing the draft of the elderly, raising the average age of a Ukrainian soldier to around 43 years.

    • Corruption remains widespread despite Zelensky firing numerous officers and the Defense Minister.

    • Zelensky is worried that the focus of Ukraine’s allies in the U.S. and Europe and of the global media has already shifted to Israel, Palestine, and the Gaza Strip.

Why are Time Magazine and the corporate media starting to throw Ukraine and Zelensky under the bus?”

  12. Kathaleena, yes, and there are other Scriptures that make it clear when we are to *disobey* authority when it calls us to disobey God.

Generally, believers are to live quiet lives with a primary focus on God and how he calls us to behave.

The Nazi and other regimes call for other actions. Many Christians in China, for example, are largely unable to gather openly. They must navigate a difficult national reality.

  13. https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/obedience-civil-authorities#

~ In the Bible’s presentation of authority and governance, we find a hierarchical structure. At the top of this hierarchy, sitting as the ultimate authority, is God Himself. But the Lord establishes other subordinate authorities under Him to govern people. Over the church, God has set elders who are responsible to preach the Word, pray for the flock of the Lord, and exercise church discipline (1 Tim. 3:1–7). Over the family, the Lord has set husbands and fathers, who are called to lead their wives and children in love and raise their sons and daughters in the fear and admonition of Him (Eph. 5:22–6:4). And over civil society, today’s passage tells us, God has set the civil authorities, whose primary purpose is to use the sword, or force, to punish evildoers (Rom. 13:1–7).

Earthly authority, therefore, is delegated authority. Authorities receive their right to rule from the Lord, who alone possesses authority inherently. Because they are appointed by God, to disobey earthly authorities when they lawfully exercise their authority is to disobey the Lord Himself. Paul lays out this principle in Romans 13:1–7, particularly in verses 2 and 5–6.

In addition to demonstrating that disobedience to the legal exercise of authority on earth is disobedience to God, the Bible’s hierarchical understanding of authority reveals that no earthly authority is absolute. If the Creator alone possesses authority inherently and if He alone sits at the top of the hierarchy of governance, absolute authority belongs to the Lord alone. All other authorities are accountable to the Lord, to Christ, the Son of God incarnate who has been set above all other rulers and authorities on earth (Eph. 1:15–23). Consequently, no earthly authority may lawfully forbid what God commands or command what God forbids. When earthly authorities do such things, civil disobedience is lawful and required for believers.

But in most cases, Christians are obligated to render civil obedience to the governing authorities. Civil authorities do not have to be Christian for us to be required to obey them, as is evident from Romans 13. Paul was writing to Christians who were living under a pagan government, telling them to obey the pagan emperor. Obviously, given other biblical passages that we will examine in the next few days, Paul was assuming that the civil authorities were not commanding what God forbids or forbidding what God commands. In such instances, Christians must submit. ~

    This is not true.

These mass migrations being seen in Europe and at the US southern border are far from ‘uncontrolled’.

These mass movements of immigrants is VERY controlled.

Planned years in advance, logistics worked out, resources put in place, etc.

They are lying to you this being an unforeseen crisis they just stumbled over, and now they’re going to just have to ‘reluctantly’ start earmarking BILLIONS of your tax dollars to house and ‘resettle’ the waves of immigrants that have been coming and will continue to come.

In ancient times despotic kings would force mass migrations of conquered nations as a means of cultural instability to make it harder for the conquered peoples to resist.

Today this is done by billionaires hiding behind hapless politicians they own all making extensive use of Fake News propaganda to fool you and lull you to sleep so you can’t really see what’s been going on.

The Biden regime let in the equivalent of FOUR new Nebraskas in the last 2 1/2 years, 8 million illegals, as a means of destabilizing the continental United States because they need to happen in order to hold onto power.

This is not an accident. They did this on purpose. America is under assault and has been sold out and is being attacked by the very people that Americans supposedly ‘elected’ to guarantee the nation’s national security.
