“Kibbutz Kfar Aza: Hamas Murdered 40 Babies, Many Decapitated

i24 Reporter: Horrific scenes of “babies with their heads cut off,” homes and bodies booby trapped.”

“As Israel has recaptured towns taken by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, even more evidence of Hamas Nazi- and ISIS-like depravity is being revealed.

Yesterday I covered the carnage at At Kibbutz Be’eri, Hamas Slaughtered Over 100, Kidnapped Dozens, and Executed At Least Four Captives.

Today we learn of what happened at Kibbutz Kfar Aza, located very close to the Gaza border.

The stories are almost unthinkable, with a large number of babies with the heads cut off.

“It’s not a war, it’s not a battlefield,” exclaimed IDF Major General Itai Veruv. “You see the babies, the mother, the father, in their bedrooms, in their protection rooms, and how the terrorists killed them. It’s a massacre.”

Israel i24 reports on what was found:”

“Hamas Barbarism “Worse Than What I Saw With ISIS” – U.S. Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin

Prof. Eugene Kontorovich: “Perhaps the greatest mercy Israel is showing to Gaza is not releasing to the public the full details of what was done by the invaders to their victims. Ostensibly for the sensitivities of the families, but also I think because what populace would be able to restrain themselves?””

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/10/hamas-barbarity-worse-than-what-i-saw-with-isis-u-s-defense-sec-lloyd-austin/

“U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is in Israel consulting with Bibi Netanyahu and IDF leadership.

Austin offered a statement on what he has seen as to the Hamas and other terrorist group conduct during their attack on Israel:

“I know a lot about ISIS, and this is worse than what I saw with ISIS.”

It’s becoming more and more clear that the beastly butchery was not only by organized terrorist groups. Hamas is trying to blame Gaza civilians who crossed the border. That’s just a way to try to excuse themselves from the crimes against humanity committed, but two things may be true: Both organized groups like Hamas AND Gaza civilians participated.”

“The IDF also is reporting that large numbers of Gaza “civilians” crossed the border.

    This was a group effort.”

“Joy Reid and Her Guests Blame Israel for Hamas Massacre

The goal of her program seemed to be to portray the Palestinians ultimately as the real victims.”

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/10/joy-reid-and-her-guests-blame-israel-for-hamas-massacre/

“Hamas’s barbarism was on full display last Saturday.

On Shabbat and the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, Israelis were slaughtered in the streets, babies and the elderly were kidnapped, and teenage girls were raped and taken as war booty to Gaza. It’s now been confirmed that Hamas decapitated babies during the assault on Kfar Aza.

The images that came out even on the first day were reminiscent of ISIS, the death toll of Jews the highest in a single day since the Holocaust.”

“The Washington Post, CNN, and the Atlantic all prominently featured graphic accounts of what had occurred. Tablet and Rolling Stone have published interviews with eyewitnesses to the rave massacre.

At one news outlet, however, the most prominent feature of its reporting was victim-blaming. On Monday evening, October 9, MSNBC aired an episode of Joy Reid’s program that would have been right at place if it had aired on Iranian state TV instead.

Her guests Peter Beinart, Ayman Mohyeldin, Ali Velshi and Lt. General Stephen Twitty ignored Hamas’s dedication to genocidal violence as expressed in its charter and in its leaders’ rhetoric, omitted any mention of offers of Palestinian sovereignty and independence, and sought to imply that the carnage was inevitable due to Israel’s actions – therefore excusing and justifying Hamas’s barbaric attack.

For all of the complaints about the closed border between Israel and Gaza, or the separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank (the so-called “apartheid wall,”) now it’s undeniable what happens when those walls are breached. The prevention of atrocities like those we saw Saturday was exactly the reason such measures existed.

But Joy Reid and her guests continue to reverse cause and effect.

The Hamas charter, adopted in 1988 and never revoked, states plainly that “Israel will exist, and will continue to exist, until Islam abolishes it….” It further states, “The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him,’ except for the Gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews.”

It is this ideology, and not any action by Israel, that led to Saturday’s massacre. But both Reid and her guests made comments attributing the blame for the weekend’s slaughter to Israel’s blockade, rather than to Hamas rule.

Lt. General Stephen Twitty, for example, described it as “a pot of water on a stove that’s going to boil over” and finally did.

Reid herself was more direct, saying twice that Israel had “provoked” this response from Gaza with settlement activity in the West Bank and its recent actions on the Temple Mount. One of these “provocations,” apparently, was Itamar Ben Gvir’s visit to the Temple Mount, and leading “more than a thousand Israeli settlers to the compound.”

But Hamas is a group whose leader declared in 2018, “we will take down their border and we will tear out their hearts from their bodies.” They did not need to be “provoked” with settlement activity in a neighboring territory, or with Jews visiting their own holy site.

Israel read the Hamas charter, it listened to the words of Hamas leaders, and it accurately predicted what they would do if given the chance. Reid did not.

The program included this completely dishonest exchange with Mohyeldin: Reid began, “The sort of obvious answer has always seemed to be for there to be a Palestinian state and Israeli state and then you could have peace, but no one has gone for that seemingly easy, not easy, but that answer.”

That’s false, of course. Israel has “gone for that answer,” in 2000, in 2008, in 2014. But it was Palestinian leaders who rejected it.

In response to the question of whether such a thing was still possible, Mohyeldin, said, “it’s hard for me to imagine that it is feasible at this point for a few reasons. One, the fundamental equation of what Oslo tried to set up, which is land for peace, was always from the very beginning flawed. The Palestinians were not seeking land. They were seeking freedom and self determination.”

But in all of those offers – 2000, 2008, and 2014 – Palestinians would have had self-determination. (Whether that self-determination would have included “freedom,” of course, could not have been determined by Israel.)

Guest Peter Beinart told MSNBC viewers, “I think the challenge is to hold these two truths. One is that what Hamas did was horrifying. Absolutely horrifying and gut-wrenching. And the other is that doing what Ayman was just describing, holding millions of people in an open air prison, ultimately does not keep Israeli Jews safe.” Reid herself also described Gaza as an “open air prison” and “one of the poorest places in the world.”

But Gaza’s leaders live in luxury off stolen aid money, while using remaining aid money to build terror infrastructure. Calling it an “open air prison” dishonestly deflects blame for the people’s poverty, as well as for the restrictions on entry, from Hamas leaders onto Israel.

It’s important to understand, Mohyeldin says, that Gaza “is not an open sovereign territory where people have the freedom to leave.” But it could have been.

When Israel evacuated the territory in 2005, with a greenhouse business and beautiful Mediterranean beaches, Gaza could have become an independent, peaceful, and prosperous, if small, nation. The people of Gaza made the choice to elect a terrorist government sworn to the destruction of its neighbor Israel.

Everything else – the poverty, the destruction, and today’s war – stems from this choice.”

“COWARDS: Nets Gently Cover Day of Jihad as ABC Sympathizes With Pro-Hamas Students”

    https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/curtis-houck/2023/10/13/cowards-nets-gently-cover-day-jihad-abc-sympathizes-pro-hamas

“On Friday morning, the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC engaged in acts of cowardice by vaguely tip-toeing through security concerns for Jewish community centers, schools, and synagogues due to what a former Hamas head demanded as a day of jihad and the rampant nature of open anti-Semitism and pro-slaughter of Jews on college campuses.

ABC’s Good Morning America was by far the worst even though they were the only broadcast network to have a story exclusively focused on the college campuses angle.

Nightline co-host Juju Chang’s tease painted this as a both-sides issue instead of noting how large groups of students have gathered to celebrate Hamas and their mass murder Saturday of over 1,200 innocents: “Coming up, though, we have protests erupting on college campuses across the country over the escalating Israeli/Hamas war. We’re live at one campus.”

Tossing to correspondent Selina Wang, Chang kept up this false equivalency that also signaled ABC was mad about pro-Hamas students being canceled:

But now to the battle brewing on college campuses over the crisis in the Middle East. Students taking sides and clashing while some CEOs are now saying they won’t hire people based on their views in the wake of the Hamas attack.

Wang began by stating the obvious that “[c]ollege campuses are deeply divided, including here at Harvard,” but fretted “corporate CEOs are trying to blacklist students whose organizations signed onto a controversial statement.” She focused on Harvard, which had found “itself in the middle of contentious conversation”.

The both-sides-ism continued as she further aired complaints about leftist students facing consequences conservatives have dealt with for years ”

“She spent the majority of the piece sympathizing not with Jewish students distraught by their classmates cheering the largest single loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust or feeling unsafe for being Jewish, but with the students doing the celebrating of murder under the guise of Palestinian nationalism.

“The backlash also raising safety concerns. This truck going around Harvard’s campus naming people who were allegedly part of the groups that signed the statement. I spoke with several Palestinian students who asked that we not show their faces out of fear for their safety,” she said.

How bad was it? Wang fretted that Palestinian students feel “scared to mourn” losses in Gaza “in public” and “[o]ne student had the gall to argue it was Palestinians who were being “wiped off the map” by Israelis.

“Meanwhile, her Jewish students and classmates — they are also grieving. Both communities are feeling targeted and unsafe. The visceral emotions here a microcosm of the heated debates across America,” she later concluded.”

  7. An open letter to college campuses.

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/10/an-open-letter-from-fern-oppenheim.php

“AN OPEN LETTER FROM FERN OPPENHEIM
I visited Israel in 2007 as the guest of a program sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. Fern Oppenheim was the host of our small group. She opened every door we wanted to enter and a few we didn’t even know existed. Fern has now written “An Open Letter to Presidents of American Universities and Colleges That Are Too Numerous to Name.” You know who she’s talking about. She writes:

This week we have been witness to the greatest atrocities and mass slaughter perpetrated against Jews since the Holocaust. Sickeningly, on many of your campuses, events are being held to support those who carried out this savagery and to blame the victims, innocent Israelis.

As a child of a Holocaust survivor in whose memory I write, I have spent my life trying to understand how such a heinous crime against humanity could have happened. The short answer is that the groundwork needs to be carefully laid. There are clear-cut steps, outlined by Natan Sharansky and others, that turn regular people into anti-Semitic vessels of hate and rage.

And, dear Presidents, your respective institutions have been complicit in accommodating this toxic process on your campuses for far too long. Specifically:

    1) Demonization – In your Middle East Studies curricula and in student groups and events, Israelis (i.e., Jews) are consistently portrayed in the most defamatory and vile terms. Entire courses are devoted to teaching that Israelis are “colonizers,” as if it is perfectly acceptable to position Jews as the only people in the world that are not indigenous to any place on earth. Israel is routinely accused of being an Apartheid state guilty of human rights abuses. While Israel is an imperfect democracy struggling with extraordinary threats on many fronts, it tries to protect the rights of all its citizens — unlike its neighbors. It protects and provides access to holy sights to all religions. Arab Israelis sit in its Parliament. But the drumbeat of outrageous false accusations, many of them lodged by professors, go unchallenged by your administrations.

    2) Double Standard – For years there have been ongoing chants across your campuses of “From the river to the sea, all of Palestine will be free.” This is not a call for a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it is a call to wipe Israel and the Israeli people off the map. Jewish students rightfully feel threatened. Would you allow students to openly call for the destruction of any other nation or homeland? “Safe spaces” are required for all identity groups but not for Jews. To cite another egregious example, a university recently hosted a Palestinian cultural event that featured Roger Waters, a vile anti-Semite who staged a concert this year dressed in a Nazi uniform. Would any university in 2023 host someone who performs in blackface? Thankfully, I think not, but Jewish sensitivities are not accorded the same consideration.

    3) Dehumanization – Once you have sufficiently demonized a people, it is easy to forget that they are human. The very first room that you enter in Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum, displays the newspaper articles that portrayed Jews as vermin and sub-human animals throughout Germany in the 1930’s. So when the time came to implement the Final Solution, Germans no longer thought of Jews as fellow human beings and were therefore able to routinely slaughter them. Likewise, the foul ways that you have allowed Israelis/Jews to be portrayed on your campuses have brought us to the point where student groups feel justified in openly supporting Hamas’s depraved actions against innocent human beings.

We are seeing videos of heart-wrenching atrocities. Israelis are crying for their missing and dead and decent reporters weep as they witness the untold human suffering. And you are hosting rallies in support of this carnage on your campuses? Shame on you for the moral depravity and ignorance that is festering under your watch.”

  8. “Israeli billionaire blasts Harvard leadership and quits board in protest”

    https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/13/business/harvard-idan-ofer-board/index.html

Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer and his wife Batia are quitting a Harvard executive board in protest of how university leaders have responded to Hamas’ terror attacks on Israel.

“Unfortunately, our faith in the University’s leadership has been broken and we cannot in good faith continue to support Harvard and its committees,” the couple said in a statement to CNN.

Idan Ofer has amassed a fortune valued at nearly $20 billion, according to Bloomberg’s billionaire index, where the Israeli ranks No. 80.

The decision by the Ofers to step down from the executive board of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government adds to the swirl of controversy at the university following the release of an anti-Israel statement by a coalition of student groups.

That letter solely blamed Israel for the deadly attacks by Hamas, setting off a firestorm and prompting some students to distance themselves from it.

The anti-Israel letter was not the main reason the Ofers decided to resign and criticize Harvard leadership, a person familiar with the matter told CNN on Friday. Instead, the resignation was driven by how Harvard leaders responded to the attacks on Israel, the source said.

“We denounce those who seek to place blame on the people of Israel for the atrocities committed by the terrorist organisation, Hamas,” the Ofers said.

“Our decision” to resign from the board “has been precipitated by the lack of clear evidence of support from the University’s leadership for the people of Israel following the tragic events of the past week, coupled with their apparent unwillingness to recognize Hamas for what it is, a terrorist organization,” the Ofers said.”

    —-

“Harvard did not comment on the resignation and criticism from the Ofers. The university instead pointed to a video statement released Thursday night by Harvard President Claudine Gay.

“People have asked me where we stand. So, let me be clear. Our University rejects terrorism — that includes the barbaric atrocities perpetrated by Hamas,” Gay said. “Our University rejects hate — hate of Jews, hate of Muslims, hate of any group of people based on their faith, their national origin, or any aspect of their identify.”

Gay added that Harvard “rejects the harassment or intimidation of individuals based on their beliefs” and “embraces a commitment to free expression.”

“That commitment extends even to views that many of us find objectionable, even outrageous. We do not punish or sanction people for expressing such views,” Gay said. “But that is a far cry from endorsing them.””
