  3. Curious about this impeachment inquiry. Is it the norm to have a House vote to begin an impeachment inquiry. On the left side of the internet, some have pointed to the lack of a House vote as proof that McCartney doesn’t have the votes. Was there a House vote prior to the impeachment process in the two Trump impeachments?

I also wonder if this impeachment inquiry will backfire against the Republicans? Ironically many who said Trump’s popularity increases as he is charged are the same people who want an impeachment inquiry. If indictments help Trump won’t impeachment threats help Biden?

Republicans finally found a gun control law they like as Hunter Biden is indicted. As a father, I wonder if this is a breaking point for Joe Biden and might induce him to not run again. Its pretty much a certainty that the minute Biden announces he’s not running, the Republicans will lose interest in Hunter. On the other hand, I wonder if the continued persecution of Hunter might generate sympathy for Joe Biden.

  4. I think as MLK and Gandhi have become icon figures, people forgot civil disobedience is still disobedience and against the law. And breaking the law has consequences. Having said that, giving the context, jail time is inappropriate. However, it’s the US and it doesn’t take much to be sent to jail.

In any empire, eventually behaviour in the colonies and subjected lands comes home. Prison rates in Samoa, Puerto Rico, etc are now the prison rates of the US. And the prison rates of African Americans are now becoming the prison rates of the working poor. Imprisonment is now an equal opportunity activity for all Americans.
