  1. Good morning, all.

Just to be clear, the message was clearly presented. Whether or not my dad heeded remains to be seen. And, no, Janice, he can’t hear but he can read closed captions.

46 degrees this morning and I am hearing Pikes Peak is covered in snow with more to fall. Oh those poor runners going up to the Peak this weekend running the Ascent….one of which will be husband…brrrr ❄️ ❄️

  3. Yes, it’s a bumble bee.

Layoffs and reassignments at Cheryl’s work have begun. This will drag out thru tomorrow. No word yet on Cheryl’s job.

It’s aggravating that they feel a need to drag this out. Unprofessional too.

  4. Kind of like this custody hearing. We would just like to know.

Son in law turned the children over to daughter who came with the side dish yesterday. In his truck, no car seats.

I told him to call and find out his responsibility. He called CPS and they told him to call the sheriff immediately and every time.

  5. Mumsee – I had mentioned that story to Nightingale, and that Son-in-Law’s reluctance to bring it up in the custody case. Her reply was that the children’s safety should be the most important issue. I am glad that he asked for advice, and I hope he will apply it. If Daughter loses custody due to that, or is only granted partial custody, that is her own fault, not his.

  6. Kizzie, you and I know that and in his perspective (which is correct) tearing down the other parent is not in children’s best interest. He is still trying to find the balance. They will figure out their mom soon enough.

Meanwhile, after refusing to allow him to enroll the children in his choice of preschool, she enrolled son without consulting or informing their dad. Sent him a pic of his first day at school as her notification.

  7. Home from the consultation with the 15-year-old eye doctor/surgeon, I have to be at the surgery place by 6:30 a.m. Thursday but should be going home only a few hours later, by 9 or so, I’m told.

He reassured me about the “dropless” cataract procedure, it’s been around 10 years, he’s used it in about 99% of his cases (unless people didn’t want it) and he thinks it’s much better and more dependable than the multiple drops people have to juggle for a month.

I asked why it wasn’t being use more (none of my friends who have had the surgery in recent years and months had heard of it.) “How can I put this,” he said. “Younger surgeons use it but older surgeons like to stick with what they know.” In fact, my one friend from church who’s just winding up the recovery from her 2nd eye asked her doctor about it and he only would say, “I’m old-school.”

Anyway, the drops do sound cumbersome and a very big hassle, so I’ll go ahead and do the shots and hopefully that’ll be it; he said sometimes they’ll add a single drop if there is some inflammation during recovery but he said that’s extremely rare, about 2% of his patients, he said.

When I got home I hauled the 6-foot ladder into the house, which Abby didn’t like much, and replaced the 2 burned out recessed lights in the kitchen ceiling (out of about 10 lights, but it really has made a difference and it is so much brighter in there now, really helps).

Also cleared out the bathroom sink drain using one of those long notched plastic wands which has really worked well for me.

  8. Mumsee – Please excuse my wording, but that really sucks. 😦

The way you are describing her reminds me much of X. He has fought Nightingale on everything and done things to undercut her. Before Boy started school, she had one option she wanted to try, and X was against it.

But, similar to Son-in-Law, Nightingale does not want to turn Boy against his father, so she doesn’t tell him (Boy) what he doesn’t need to know. To use your wording, he will figure out his dad soon enough.

  9. Got a call and then met up with a gardener today. He is so cheap, but I will see how he does the work. I am having him take out a whole long row of rosemary that hasn’t been pruned for 20 years and then trim the row below. Hard work, but not too skilled. And he will haul it off.
