Yes, these years are flying by! Some are in denial except the various failings of body parts keep folks aware at times.
Speaking of the word ‘folks,’ every time I hear that ad ditty, “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks”, I always want to hear “man” instead of “folks.” Another indicator of age.
Back to School — enough to send shivers down any kid’s back! I still remember the shock of seeing the first back-to-school ads on TV or the store window displays when shopping with my mom.

Totally forgot about the arborist appointment today, I was covering a meeting online when he arrived.
Looks like I will most likely be taking the huge ficus tree next to the patio out, he’s working up an estimate.
And the washing machine agitator (using it today for the first time since the repair) now makes noise; supposedly (according to a friend) it’s just too tight and only needs to be loosened).
So good thing the repair guy will be returning to fix the refrigerator within the next week or so.
And I managed to get a pre-op consultation meeting set up with eye doctor/surgeon, I have questions and was feeling frustrated they couldn’t provide a time when I could ask them. Now they have, 1 p.m. next Tuesday, two days before the surgery.
Anyone here ever use or hear of droplets cataract surgery — where they inject the drops in one step after the surgery instead of giving you a gazillion drops to take over the course of the next month?
I never heard of that, Dj. My place had an independent pharmacy compound a formula so the drops were all in one bottle that they sold instead of getting from our regular pharmacy. That was more convenient for patients. Dropless would be more convenient, maybe the newest thing? Research as much as you can to be sure it works as well or better.

“You-ins” Isn’t that shortened to “yins” in Pennsylvania? And I thought all Southerners said y’all.
Ace Hardware- I wish there was one here. There used to be, but it closed years ago and a convenience store took its place. There is one in the town 20 minutes from here, but that’s too far for my seldom hardware needs.
Also, an older man named Ace works at the cave now. When I see him I sing “Ace is the man with the helpful hardware face” since he has a lot of practical knowledge.

Kathaleena, and I hadn’t heard they have combined drops; friend at church is coming out of her 2nd eye surgery now and told me what a hassle it is to have all the different drops to use, several times a day, for a month.
Dropless procedure has been around for 10 years but one of my questions is why it isn’t being used more? Neither of the people I know who recently had the surgery (and the husband of one of them, so that’s 3 folks) ever were broached with a “droplets” option. Why aren’t more doctors using it?
Anyway, a few pointed questions I can ask my surgeon which will help ease my mind and make a decision I’m comfortable with.

When it is a rainy day with a lot of glare, you can put on sunglasses to help cut the glare. I know that it sounds strange,but it helps with cataracts, fyi.
Well, it seems that I must have had my cataracts surgeries done back in the old days when I had to use the different drops for a few weeks. (I forget how long.)
My husband had his cataracts out just over a year ago. We paid a lot extra to get the combined drops. I was advised I can make an appointment anytime to have the surgery myself. I will probably wait until my next yearly appointment. I had reasons to not want it until fall, but don’t want to wait too long. Then my thyroid was off again, so I put it off again. My friend kept putting it off and then her husband passed away. By that time, she really could not even drive without getting the cataract surgery. It made everything even more stressful.
We were surprised to get a small bill for anesthesia a year later. Makes me wonder if it were legit now. Maybe I should have called the eye doctor. It was a little less than 25.00, so nothing major. Still..

It is fun to see all the back-to-school photos on Facebook. It sure does remind us of the passage of time. That is a good thing. Life is short.

I also put a call into an eye specialist I have seen to get his take on the options, office staff said he should call me back sometime tomorrow.
