Prayer Requests 8-2-23

It’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Joanne and The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 21

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.
    How great is his joy in the victories you give!

You have granted him his heart’s desire
    and have not withheld the request of his lips.
You came to greet him with rich blessings
    and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
    length of days, for ever and ever.
Through the victories you gave, his glory is great;
    you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
Surely you have granted him unending blessings
    and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
For the king trusts in the Lord;
    through the unfailing love of the Most High
    he will not be shaken.

Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies;
    your right hand will seize your foes.
When you appear for battle,
    you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace.
   The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
    and his fire will consume them.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
    their posterity from mankind.
11 Though they plot evil against you
    and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.
12 You will make them turn their backs
    when you aim at them with drawn bow.

13 Be exalted in your strength, Lord;
    we will sing and praise your might.

  1. Praying for the pastor and for Mumsee’s relatives with Covid that were on yesterday’s thread.

    Also praying for AJ in the waiting. And others here, especially for unsaved family members.

    Praying for Kizzie’s home renovation needs as well as our needs here. It is an elephant, one bite at a time! God help us, please. Wisdom in what to do next.

  2. You can pray for our needed kitchen makeover, too. I had a Christian acquaintance agree to do it. He was supposed to have everything ordered and the work done in April. He admitted it was his ‘bad’ for not doing so. Haven’t heard a word from him since. I am sure he is working on a big job; however, an agreement is an agreement (especially from a Christian). I am stressed by his lack of concern over the whole thing. He offered to do the job, after I asked for a recommendation from him.

  3. Kathaleena, very familiar with that situation. A reminder to me to not make commitments I am not certain of, especially with my ever changing lifestyle.

    Grandmother tested positive. Daughter in law appears to be through it.

  4. People around here like to engage in cliff jumping. Though often the young inebriated but also often the young and stupid but there I repeat. And also just folks having fun. He is fine but yesterday son in law took a couple jumps after work into the Salmon. He either bruised or cracked his tailbone. Mind you this was on the first jump, not the second. Anyway, his calculations were it was about seventy feet. That will leave a bruise. Prayer for quick healing, body and brain (he does have two children he is responsible for!)
