Prayer Requests 7-26-23

It’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Joanne and The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 14

For the director of music. Of David.

The fool says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
   They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
    there is no one who does good.

The Lord looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
   to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

   They devour my people as though eating bread;
    they never call on the Lord.
But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
    for God is present in the company of the righteous.
You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,
    but the Lord is their refuge.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
    When the Lord restores his people,
    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

  1. Nightingale arrived home safe around 1:30 last night. We spent quite a while this morning with her telling me all about the trip. She had a wonderful time.

    But when they landed at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport, their texts came through. The friend/co-worker she was traveling and rooming with got a text telling her that her niece had been murdered by her boyfriend. It was a murder-suicide that I had just read about that day in the news, but didn’t realize who they were.

    Marianna was an emotional wreck, as you can imagine. Nightingale took charge in steering them through the airport in all they had to do, such as going through customs. On all the previous flights, they had seats together, but on this one, they were going to be seated far from each other. So Nightingale talked to someone, explained the situation, and asked if they could be seated together. It worked out somehow that they could be. I am proud of her for taking charge like that, and helping Marianna.

    Please pray for this woman who has had such a tragedy touch her family, and for her other family members, too. Thank you.

  2. Praying.

    Cat rescue friend (the one who matched me up with Annie Oakley) will have surgery Aug. 3 for colon cancer. She doesn’t seem to be a believer, so prayers on all fronts. She’s married with two teen/young adult daughters, seems to be close family.
