“Tuberville Blocking Promotion of Navy Captain Who Allowed Drag Shows Aboard USS Ronald Reagan”

“Drag performances took place on board the USS Ronald Reagan under the command of a Navy captain whose promotion to rear admiral is currently being blocked by Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville.

Capt. Michael Donnelly served as commanding officer of the aircraft carrier the USS Ronald Reagan from April 2016 to September 2018. During that time period, Yeoman 2rd Class Joshua Kelley was performing as a drag queen at Morale, Welfare, and Recreation department-sanctioned events on the carrier under the drag name “Harpy Daniels.”

As commander of the USS Ronald Reagan, Donnelly would have been aware of, and responsible for, that activity, according to William Thibeau, director of The American Military Project at The Claremont Institute.

Donnelly declined to comment for this article through the U.S. Navy.

“Every military officer takes command of units large and small with the understanding they are responsible for everything that does and does not happen under their command,” Thibeau explained. “It’s the basic truth of military leadership, whether you command an infantry company or an aircraft carrier.”

“The USS Ronald Reagan drag shows of 2017 and 2018 were not random acts of entertainment for sailors, but were sanctioned Navy programs under the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of the ship,” he noted. “As commander of the ship, Captain Donnelly would have been ultimately responsible for this program.”

Thibeau also noted that large media outlets, such as NBC and the Military Times, had covered the drag shows during Donnelly’s tour—significant press attention that “would have been a standard reporting requirement directly to Captain Donnelly at the time.”

“My biggest performances here are the lip-sync competitions we hold to build up morale,” Kelley said in a August 2018 interview with NBC News.”

Gee, why do our recruitment numbers totally suck?

  9. The FBI is corrupt.

“Wait, That’s How Many Clinton Probes the FBI Quashed Ahead of the 2016 Election?”

“The FBI’s dirty laundry continues to be aired, stemming from the 300-page report filed by Special Counsel John Durham, who investigated the origins of the Russian collusion hoax. No solid evidence of collusion existed for the FBI to execute any investigations into this political circus. The Steele Dossier formed the basis for the counterintelligence investigation, even though the brass at the bureau had evidence that the document was not just an opposition research project funded by the Clinton campaign but loaded with Russian disinformation. This development was suppressed to secure illegal spy warrants on Trump and his aides.”

“Political bias drove the FBI to shed its long-standing commitment to apoliticism, professionalism, and objectivity in its investigations. And now, we’ve learned that the Clintons were the subject of not one but four criminal investigations that evaporated before the 2016 election. This all happened before the email server fiasco befell the former first lady. What the FBI was investigating the Clintons over is similar to what Joe Biden is doing with his son Hunter (via NY Post):

The FBI had at least four open criminal investigations into Hillary and Bill Clinton that were suddenly dropped in the months before the 2016 presidential election, special counsel John Durham’s recently released report shows.

The bombshell report released by Durham — which concluded that the bureau’s probe into former President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia was “seriously flawed” — also shed light on the quashed probes.

The feds had been looking into claims that foreign countries and other individuals were trying to influence the Clintons through donations to their namesake non-profit and Hillary’s presidential campaign.

Three of the FBI’s four investigations that were launched in early 2016 were looking into allegations that the Clinton Foundation has a hub of “criminal activity.”

Those federal probes originated from field offices in Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, DC and New York — all of which opened audits into the charity as Hillary was in the midst of her presidential run.

The Little Rock and New York offices were investigating a claim that an outside commercial industry “likely engaged a federal public official in a flow of benefits scheme, namely, large monetary contributions were made to a non-profit, under both direct and indirect control of the federal public official, in exchange for favorable government action and/or influence,” according to the Durham report.

The fourth investigation looked into allegations made by a “well-placed” source that Hillary continued accepting those illegal donations throughout her presidential campaign.

“Beginning in late 2014, before Clinton formally declared her presidential candidacy, the FBI learned from a well-placed [source] that a foreign government was planning to send an individual to contribute to Clinton’s anticipated presidential campaign, as a way to gain influence with Clinton should she win the presidency,” the report said. ”

And all of this got deep-sixed. When the Clinton email probe began, of which disgraced FBI Agent Peter Strzok was one of its supervisors, he reportedly confided to his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, that the bureau might be going too hard on Hillary, adding that she could be the next president. Did the FBI pull any punches with that probe? Who knows, but they suffocated these four with a pillow. His communication with Page over this matter also shows how Strzok and others at the FBI at the center of this collusion hoax were confident of Clinton winning, ensuring that these illegal investigations could be put through the shredder. History had other plans.

They killed four criminal probes into the Clintons before the 2016 election and then worried about going too hard over their assessment of the unauthorized and unsecured email server Hillary used to conduct all official business as secretary of state. This reported whiplash is like the waffled statement then-FBI Director James Comey issued after the agency’s review of the server, wherein he all but declared Clinton guilty of mishandling classified information but stopped short of recommending charges. “

“Democrats Cook the FBI’s Books on Domestic Terrorism”

“The projection of dystopian America mired in a terrorist war waged by the Democrats’ political adversaries is false.”

“Even before the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021, congressional Democrats had formulated a plan to project the illusion that the most perilous threat to American national security — not just in our time but in our history — was domestic terrorism fueled by white supremacists. This was, and remains, a political narrative through and through. Democrats are not even subtle in signaling to the public that they should think of Trump supporters — not just the unabashed MAGA faction but any of the over 70 million Americans who found Trump preferable to Democrats — as white supremacists, or at least sympathizers of white supremacists, and ergo abettors of domestic terrorism.

I laid this plan bare in January 2021. Again, even before the Capitol riot, House Democrats were proposing their so-called “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act.” They haven’t gotten it enacted yet, but they’re trying hard, calculating that they can demagogue the Republicans they need to get it across the finish line by masquerading their political project as pro–law enforcement and pro–national security. And, of course, by inveighing that anyone who opposes the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act must necessarily be in favor of domestic terrorism, right? That’s why House Democrats, while they had a slim majority, reintroduced and passed the legislation in 2022. That’s why, just a few days ago, Dick Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, rolled out his symmetrical version in the Judiciary Committee.

The objective of this proposal is not to improve national security. As I explained in 2021, and as NR later editorialized, if that were the aim, Democrats would not engage in the subterfuge of attempting to change federal law’s perfectly serviceable definition of domestic terrorism — for the purpose of insulating jihadists and left-wing radicals while targeting their phantom white supremacists (i.e., Republicans, pro-life activists, parents who object to woke-progressive indoctrination in the schools, et al.).

The real purpose of this legislation is twofold: (1) stigmatize as terrorism policies that progressives oppose; (2) establish in law requirements that induce the FBI and other federal agencies to inflate the number of domestic-terrorism investigations, the better to insist that — though you’d never know it given the absence of, you know, actual terrorist attacks — the country is under a white-supremacist siege.

Exposing this demagogic scheme is an important purpose of House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan’s subcommittee on the weaponization of government. As our Brittany Bernstein has reported, that subcommittee held a hearing on Thursday at which three FBI agents testified as whistleblowers, relating both how the bureau has been politicized into serving this Democratic political gambit, and how they have been retaliated against for reporting the situation to Congress.

Jordan’s subcommittee issued a report that is startling.

Brittany noted that Thursday’s hearing focused, in part, on testimony from Agent Steve Friend, a twelve-year veteran and SWAT-team member, who has detailed how the FBI labors to inflate the number of terrorism cases and uses SWAT resources unnecessarily in arrest scenarios to create the impression that it is apprehending dangerous terrorists:

Friend said the FBI’s handling of the January 6 Capitol riot-related investigations “deviated from standard practice and created a false impression with respect to the threat of DVE [i.e., domestic violent extremism] nationwide.”. . . He testified that the FBI is in need of reform in several areas: “the integrated program management system incentivizes the use of inappropriate investigatory processes and tools to achieve arbitrary statistical accomplishments” and there is “mission creep within the national security branch [that] has refocused counterterrorism from legitimate foreign actors to political opponents within our borders. . . . The FBI weaponizes process crimes and reinterprets laws to initiate pretextual prosecutions and persecute its political enemies[.]”

Jordan’s report excerpts portions of a subcommittee interview with Friend, in which he explains that the bureau is deviating from its normal case-opening and accounting practices in order to make it appear that there are more domestic-terrorism cases and that the suspected terrorists are making mayhem throughout the country. As you’d expect, these shenanigans are woven out of the events of January 6.

That should tell you much of what you need to know. The operating premise of congressional Democrats, the Biden administration, and — therefore — the FBI is that the Capitol riot was a terrorist attack. That is absurd, for reasons I explicated when Attorney General Merrick Garland, putting his office in the service of this narrative, preposterously claimed that the Capitol riot was the most dangerous threat to American democracy he had ever seen.”

Garland needs to be impeached for repeatedly lying to Congress.

  11. Recruitment numbers plummeted due to the “wokeness” of the military institutions. What normal healthy young person wants to subject themselves to demands of “proper” pronouns… don’t call parents Mom or Dad…and don’t forget about the problems of Whiteness and White rage taught at Westpoint. They keep blaming it on Covid…that pony has run out of steam!!
