Prayer Requests 2-24-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Let’s pray God would give her relief from whatever illness is ailing her and causing her fever, and that He would restore her to good health.

Anyone else?

Psalm 33

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
    it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
    make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
    play skillfully, and shout for joy.

For the word of the Lord is right and true;
    he is faithful in all he does.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of his unfailing love.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
    their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
    he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
    let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
    he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
    the purposes of his heart through all generations.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people he chose for his inheritance.
13 From heaven the Lord looks down
    and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches
    all who live on earth—
15 he who forms the hearts of all,
    who considers everything they do.

16 No king is saved by the size of his army;
    no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
    despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
    on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death
    and keep them alive in famine.

20 We wait in hope for the Lord;
    he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
    for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
    even as we put our hope in you.

  1. Prayers for oldest daughter. Her ENT visit docs recommended sentinel lymph node surgery. They said the melanoma, occurring in one so young, appears quite aggressive and probably was not sun induced.

    On other front, the grieving dad now requires a root canal. Prayers.

    The grieving mom is dealing with anger. I am suggesting she cry instead.

  2. Still feeling sick and tired, but my fever is down.
    My friend told me that they cancelled Kinder yesterday. I wondered why I didn’t hear from school. Then when I woke up this morning, I realized that i hadn’t checked my school email which is a separate account. Found out that they did keep me updated on everything and told me why. They will have school today with Wendy being the teacher, so prayers needed for Wendy as she has never done this before.

  3. Friend is thirty five. Her husband was a little older but not much. Maybe forty. They have two children at home. Her fourteen and his fifteen year old. It will be tough.

  4. Heavenly Father, i lift up Mumsee and all who have been touched by death very recently in her realm. It seems like too much, like what one might expect in a war zone, but this is just civilian everyday life in Idaho. Please, Lord, if possible make a way of comfort and peace for Mumsee as she tries to process it all and help others as they suffer and process. Please give her tangible signs that You are there with her. May she get an impression of Your closeness that can not be denied. Please help the grieving children not to be angry at You. Give them wisdom beyond their years. May the reason for Your plan to save people through the death of Jesus on the cross be firmly planted in hearts that were closed before. I pray You will show some good to rise up through these painful days. May relatives draw closer to one another and to You in nonjudgemental and supernatural love. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Twenty is way off. Constant yelling and maniac laughing. She does not know. My friend is one of her workers. Daughter knew the husband as well. I am not telling her at this time. We have not told her about grandson. We are not ready for the mocking she will throw out. Meanwhile, I am enjoying Casting Crowns with several very appropriate songs.

  6. DJ, he thought he had a sinus infection, went to the doc and they put him in the hospital with pneumonia. His oxygen improved, they sent him home. He did some more tests. They decided he needed oxygen at home (he lived very close to the hospital). He was on antibiotics and then he died. He tested neg on Covid but is that accurate? And neg for flu.
    We are sad.

  7. So heartbreaking, mumsee. Praying to the God of all comfort for you and yours.

    Some churches seem to make it so hard to join. That always strikes me when I see the numbers (3,000 etc.) given in Acts as to the number of people added to the church. Clearly, they were not sitting down and writing faith statements and answering a whole lot of questions before being baptized. Only God knows hearts no matter how many hoops people jump through. Not advocating for no instruction or discussion, of course.

  8. Well, just took another nap. Temp is down to 99.4. Symptoms were crazy today – first I was so cold that I put on everything I could, must have been hearing Mumsee and others talk about their cold. Then later I got hot and took all of my jackets off. Then diarrhea. So I decided that it was time for another nap so now I feel better.

  9. Well, I was sorta bad as I went to the store, wearing an N95 mask. So just at the last minute the government informed us that Monday is a national holiday. So I have time to get well
