Prayer Requests 11-5-21

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
    or you brought forth the whole world,
    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn people back to dust,
    saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
    they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new,
    but by evening it is dry and withered.

We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins in the light of your presence.
All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
   yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
    that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
    for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us—
    yes, establish the work of our hands.

  1. Our daughter is home with her possessions–which mostly fit into the closet of the guest room.

    She’s getting her hair done today, attending a family gathering tonight (must chill the champagne for two celebrations), and is excited to return to work on Monday.

    Thank you all, so much, for your prayers over the years.

    Really. We’re so thankful.

  2. Praising with you, Michelle.

    As to here, Mike is off with the three to speech therapy so I head to Moscow today if the fog lifts, after morning chores and exercise.
    Then Mike goes to Boise but due to a miscalculation, twenty does not have work this weekend and does not want to go to her worker’s house so will be here with me for the weekend. I will do my part to not engage but if last night is any indicator, she is highly motivated to provoke though I don’t usually take the bait.

  3. In other news here, other twenty has set out for his deployment. Off to Fort Bliss for a start. However, the day before departure he got the results back from the check on his kidney. You may recall they found a lesion when xraying him after his car accident. The lesion has grown significantly. Whatever that means, he is leaving it for the military doctors to figure out. Along with the broken neck deal. He is no longer wearing the neck brace but was not cleared by the neurosurgeon. So, wisdom for the mil doctors.

  4. I had to google EHS. 🙂 (For others who may not have known, it stands for Environment, Health and Safety.)

    May God richly bless her in her new job.
