Prayer Requests 9-2-21

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 30

I will exalt you, Lord,
    for you lifted me out of the depths
    and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
Lord my God, I called to you for help,
    and you healed me.
You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
    you spared me from going down to the pit.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;
    praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;
   weeping may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.

When I felt secure, I said,
    “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, when you favored me,
    you made my royal mountain stand firm;
   but when you hid your face,
    I was dismayed.

To you, Lord, I called;
    to the Lord I cried for mercy:
“What is gained if I am silenced,
    if I go down to the pit?
   Will the dust praise you?
    Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me;
    Lord, be my help.”

11 You turned my wailing into dancing;
    you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
    Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

  1. Please pray for my friend A. I am now one of only 5 people who know her daughter is pregnant. Daughter has mental and physical health issues. There is a true and likely chance that her body will not sustain a pregnancy. Her body can barely sustain her.
    My friend said she is not a Steel Magnolia and she isn’t Sally Fields. This is just one more burden for my friend to carry. Husband is in his 60’s. Cannot find a job. He has always managed restaurants and lost his last job when he was sick with covid. He carded their insurance which covered the daughter. It’s just one thing on top of another for them.

  2. Praying for the family, Kim. That is way too much to bear.

    I hope the dad feels qualified to branch out to other work opportunities. Many employers are trying to fill positions and can not find employees.

  3. I watched the chapel program for Dalkas Theological Seminary today.

    The message is so inspiring. I have heard better music from their chapel before.

    I listened while washing dishes. I will try to post it on here.

    I hope Chas can listen to the message to better understand his value in God’s plans.

  4. Ok, I’m not sure who to thank or who’s prayers are responsible for this but… yesterday morning, I received a very unexpected text from Orazio (the young guy that Cali bit).

    He said he wants to move to England next year and needs English lessons! I didn’t see that coming! He still hasn’t told me how much money he wants me to give him but maybe I can pay him in English lessons?

    I’m super curious to see what the Lord has up His sleeves! Keep praying!!

  6. Michelle, I thought about Hill yesterday as I was working in the kitchen. I thought how surprised and concerned she must be, and I wondered if the dog had gotten some bad food or something. How devastating to train a service dog and have that happen. Art and I had recently watched a documentary about a ladies prison taking on the duties of training service dogs for companions to vets. That is probably why I thought about Hill’s situation a lot and prayed. Also my friend in CA was bit by a dog and the dog was put down some years back. I was thinking about that, too. What a creative thing that God is doing in working this all out!
