Prayer Requests 5-15-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 92

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.

It is good to praise the Lord
    and make music to your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning
    and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
    and the melody of the harp.

For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!
Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.

But you, Lord, are forever exalted.

For surely your enemies, Lord,
    surely your enemies will perish;
    all evildoers will be scattered.
10 You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox;
    fine oils have been poured on me.
11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
    my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.

12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
    they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
    they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
    he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

  1. Yes, Nothing is beyond God’s ability or reach. Praying with you all.

    My leg is on again and off again in healing after that missed step on our carpeted stairs. As DJ well knows, it is the constant use of the leg that never gives sufficient time to totally heal up. If one did not ever have to go to the bathroom it would heal much sooner! Truly, it’s not as bad as what I have experienced in the past, but it is a hindrance and at times a bit painful. All that to say prayers are welcome for my small affliction.

    Praise that Wesley had an interview and received a request for a Zoom demonstration of his teaching. Please pray he will do well. God’s will be done if it is His choice for this next year. It is a one year visiting professorship. He has the proper requirements that they are looking for. I have no idea of competition.

  2. Continued prayer for Shirley my neighbor who seems to be making progress in her stroke recovery work. She remains in a rehab, it’s been at least a month now, but R, her husband, told me yesterday that they’re making headway in walking and using her right arm. She also gets occupational therapy — they have a mock “car” they bring in so she can practice getting in and out of a vehicle.

  3. Urgent prayer request…. Amy and Jeremy’s boys ran away last night. They have been in trouble this week for slipping school and vaping. She took away their phones. They were gone when she got up this morning. She found where they had been in touch with birth parents and it appears they made a plan to go with the mother. Police cannot find her or the boys today. Please pray fervently that they will be found safe and that there will be reconciliation. Amy and Jeremy have been through a lot this year. Please pray for them.

  4. Yes, my daughter. The one who adopted the boys right before Miguel had his wreck. The same one whose husband has Guillain Barre syndrome.

  5. Again today I’ve been feeling anxiety on and off (more on than off). I feel it all through my body, too, and have felt dizzyish when it is at its worst. There is also a guilty feeling that goes along with it. Please pray that if the Holy Spirit is convicting me of something that the conviction would come through more calmly and clearly so that I can recognize it from Him, but that if this is strictly anxiety, He would heal it and bring calm to my heart and body. Thank you.

  6. I just found out a former babysitter, Dawn, (who now has her own grown children) has stage 4 lung cancer. She is on her third round of treatments and not doing well. I know she would appreciate prayer..

  7. So difficult, Kathaleena. This reminds me of my late best friend Karen’s same diagnosis about one year ago to the day. Prayers for Dawn and her family.

    RK, praying for Amy and Jeremy and their boys. It is the bio mom who is missing along with the boys, correct, and not Amy? I think I misread your post at first.

    Prayers for Debra & Cyrus, Janice, Shirley, and Kizzie as well.

  8. A Christian author’s brother, Curtis Dustin Williams, an avid hiker has been missing for several days in a TN wilderness area. His dog was found pretty early on. He’s in his 40s. Please pray he can be found and that he will be okay.
