Prayer Requests 4-22-21

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 68:1-6

May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
    may his foes flee before him.
May you blow them away like smoke—
    as wax melts before the fire,
    may the wicked perish before God.
But may the righteous be glad
    and rejoice before God;
    may they be happy and joyful.

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
    extol him who rides on the clouds;
    rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
    is God in his holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,
    he leads out the prisoners with singing;
    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

  1. Pray for me not to feel sad. Again Wesley will get the opportunity, which was missed last year due to Covid, to wear his cap and gown and walk for his diploma but it will be a week before the tax deadline so we won’t attend (also I have not had the Covid vaccine). I had already gotten past that sadness but here it is again.

  2. Asking our Lord to bring you comfort and rest Janice. Wesley I am sure knows how supportive you have been and continue to be of him….he sounds like a fine young man ❤️

  3. Janice, I think it’s those missing family celebrations and enforced separations that have caused so much sadness, low-level depression, grief, and stress during this current covid era. Praying for your heart to be cheered.

    UPDATE: I was able to talk to C again yesterday for about an hour and a half in several sessions! His voice was strong and more clear. He texted this morning at 5 am asking if I was awake. As soon as my phone light went on I was immediately wide awake and we texted for 15 or 20 minutes. His dr said he’s improving! He’s still not able to sit up, but his oxygen is beginning to stabilize and they turned down the breathing machine a little. I’m so thankful for the prayers and helping hands of God’s faithful ones. It’s both humbling and gratifying.

    I texted with Nilo as well. He said he is still fighting for his life and for the life of his family. The isolation from his family is wearing on him. But he was especially comforted to know that prayers and supplications are continuing, and that PaPa (Dad) is also praying for him.

    Nilo has been heavy on my heart. I know I have said this before, but it seems that God brings us to the end of whatever resources we have, whether small or great, and there we are left with prayer and waiting on Him. It is a very painful and stressful place to be, but oddly it’s a place of blessing, because His Presence seems so near, and His Word seems ever more dear.

    Thank you all of you Pray-ers. You’re WONDERFUL!

    Still Trusting Him

  4. Debra! Thankful for that report as we continue to life C up before our Lord…believing for complete healing and a fresh knowing of His careful watch over His children…all the time! 😊 How are you feeling?
    The Lord brings to mind the needs of Nilo…oh that he will sense the presence of our Lord surrounding him even in this time of physical separation from his family…..trusting the Lord to work it all out in His timing, deepening Nilo’s reliance upon Him…
    thanks for the update! ♥️

  5. Debra – Your update brought tears of relief to my eyes. Continuing to pray for you two and for Nilo and his family.

    As for me, this week I have been feeling quite down, even depressed, discouraged, worn out and a little achy physically. Trying to lean on my Heavenly Father to see me through whatever this is. Prayers appreciated.

  6. Please pray for my niece, T. She has had so many hurts and disappointments in the last few years. She is autistic but still graduated with a B.Sc. (with 5 minors). She really wants to get her Masters, but all the professors who seem to be able to be her advisor (is that the right term?) get her hopes up but then for one reason or another turn her down. The last one decided to go on sabbatical after reaching out to her, getting her hopes up and then dashed yet again.

    She lost her dear Grandma earlier this year as well as her cousins in the helicopter crash in January.

    She is really struggling but still looking to Jesus. Please pray that she will feel God’s presence and that He will be her strength.

  7. Praying for Janice, Kizzie and Kare’s niece — and for Debra and C; what a good update, though, that brought smiles to all of us, I’m sure. Continued prayer that this trend will continue.

  8. We will miss a grandson’s graduation this year. He is graduating a year earlier than he should, so we were not expecting this graduation. We have another grandson graduating closer to home, so should be able to attend that one. I hate not being there for any of them.

  9. Praying for the above requests. They cancelled our graduation and pinning due to a rise in cases.

    Please pray for me the next two weeks as i take numerous final exams. I had a SIM scenario today while i totally bombed as i woke up very late and could not get my brain focused. I need to keep my reaction to stress to a minimum and focus on being clear headed and able to remember all of the previously learned information.

  10. Lifting the above requests before our Lord…
    Kizzie I pray you would experience the lows being lifted from you this day…I have been feeling a tad bit out of sorts this week…a sense of uselessness….pressing in and asking the Lord what would He have me do ♥️
    Kare how frustrating for you precious niece…asking the Lord to bring to her encouragement as she leans on Him for direction and timing….
    Rk..praying for you…asking the Lord to give you clarity of thought and concise recall of the information you have studied….breathe deeply sister…He goes before you ♥️

  11. Prayers for each request mentioned. Thanks to you all for praying for me. I could feel the relief that God gave through your prayers. And hearing that Wesley has at least one class to teach for the summer encouraged me greatly.
