Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 66
1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
2 Sing the glory of his name;
make his praise glorious.
3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
4 All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing the praises of your name.”
5 Come and see what God has done,
his awesome deeds for mankind!
6 He turned the sea into dry land,
they passed through the waters on foot—
come, let us rejoice in him.
7 He rules forever by his power,
his eyes watch the nations—
let not the rebellious rise up against him.
8 Praise our God, all peoples,
let the sound of his praise be heard;
9 he has preserved our lives
and kept our feet from slipping.
10 For you, God, tested us;
you refined us like silver.
11 You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs.
12 You let people ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.
13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings
and fulfill my vows to you—
14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke
when I was in trouble.
15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you
and an offering of rams;
I will offer bulls and goats.
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
19 but God has surely listened
and has heard my prayer.
20 Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!
Just a quick update on me and Cyrus: he’s got no lung clots from the covid pneumonia. He’s still in ICU and maxed out on the old machine, but he is being constantly monitored now. He’s mildly sedated but still able to send brief texts from time to time. That’s my lifeline with him. He’s relying on prayer and his faith is strong. He’s determined to come home.
My dr said I have got over most of the covid pneumonia and I’m not covid contageous, but I have a case of bacterial pneumonia now. So I expect, that with prayer, it can be knocked out with the antibiotics and steroids they prescribed. I’m hoping to go back to work next week or perhaps the end of this week.
Thanks to all of you prayers. I have read most of the prayer requests for the past few days and have been praying for you as well.
Still Trusting Him,
Debra

In another related matter, I received a phone call from the Philippines from a young man (well, a few years younger than me anyway). He was a protege of my Dad when he was a missionary in the Philippines. He served my Dad faithfully as a servant, guide and protector in dangerous territory for several years. I have been connected with him on facebook for several years where he primarily posts scriptures which I have often found edifying and encouraging.
His name is Nilo and he is a strong believer and prayer warrior himself, but now he needs prayer badly. He said he’s got covid with bad symptoms and is being quarantined at a workplace. He has no access to medical care; he can only pray and wait. His wife Anna Marie is showing symptoms at home with their two young daughters, Daniella and Sarah Joy. The grief and desperation in his voice as he begged for our prayers broke my heart.
Even with all the medical care available to us here in the US, diseases like this bring us to the point of praying and waiting on the Lord. And surely He is sufficient. Please pray for our brother Nilo and his family as you are led.
Still Trusting Him,
Debra

Amen.
And prayers for the Chauvin trial jurors who are under a great deal of pressure and likely have safety concerns as this process winds to an end. May their decision be clear-headed and fair under the law — and may all of us accept their decision.

Thank you for your reports, Debra, both on how you and Cyrus are faring and also regarding Nilo and his family. I’m praying for all.
DJ, amen. The jurors have been on my mind; they do certainly need prayers.
I remember an Andree Seu article in World many years ago where she remarked that thinking about a situation is not the same as praying about the situation. That’s true, of course, but how many times don’t we just think about something, maybe often, but then frequently neglect to pray about it?
Thank you for the reminder to pray.

Prayers for all. A retired missionary to the Phillipines prays with me weekly. I wonder if she possibly knows these who need prayer. Recently we prayed for the wife of a Christian college president in that nation. The wife died.

Prayer for Chauvin.

I don’t know, 6 Arrows. There are only about 60 in the congregation and it’s closed communion–even for a Missouri Synod Lutheran.

Hmmm… ok, thanks Michelle.
Regarding Chauvin: has anyone heard if he has family? Wife and kids perhaps? If so, prayers would be in order for them, too.
Update: my rash is almost gone, and both the itch and the pain are completely gone. Many thanks for your prayers on that.
