It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.
Anyone else?
Psalm 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
I have an appointment tomorrow with a local heart rhythm doctor (electrophysiologist or EPh). After a 2-week heart monitor in October, my regular cardiologist in Cleveland said I should see an EPh because there were arrhythmias that concerned her. She didn’t make it sound very urgent, even after a long delay in getting the monitor report back.
I’m a little concerned about having yet one more twist in my long complicated heart saga.
I saw this EPh six years ago when he fixed a previous arrhythmia with an ablation, so I’m comfortable with him. It’s the first time I’ve had a “virtual” doctor’s appointment. He has the report from the 2-week scan, so I guess he doesn’t need to examine me hands-on at this point.
Prayer for peace for me and Mrs B, skill and insight for the doctor, and a good outcome.

Wiped out this morning from recognizing a bitterness I have fed for 40 years. Forgiven, cleansed, closer to my husband as a result of his overseeing and then joining in prayer. Thanks be to God.

Lots of work stress for me today, a big and potential political race in our front yard I may likely be heavily involved in covering; a year-long unionization effort within our news group finally broke out into the open and was publicly announced today, which is expected to lead to much distraction and dissension within even our own beaten-down ranks.

Really trying to focus on the truth (so easy to forget or just lose sight of) that for believers, trials are meant to refine our faith.
Right now I’m ready to up and quit, chuck it all and move to a cabin in the mountains — where I wouldn’t be able to do (or afford) the work to maintain such a thing, would have to pay a gazillion in fire insurance, and it likely would just burn down in the next wildfire season anyhow.

And I’d probably just slip on some winter ice and re-injure my knee.
OK, talked myself out of it.
For now.

Prayer for me working. I had a few days off, which I needed, but I am dreading going back. Just lacking the emotional strength to face it all again.

Praying that He will give you what you need to accomplish well what He has put before you and prepared you for.

I’m having to go out on a story at 6 a.m. tomorrow — to a homeless encampment where activists are expected to show up and block city sanitation trucks from doing a cleanup (so police also are expected to be on hand). Prayer as this is one of the first big things I’ve had to cover live in the covid era (a little premature since my 2nd shot was just Sunday and they say you’re not fully protected for another 1-2 weeks, but will just have to make due with that) and of course there’s the knee issue. But it’s my job and I’m just going to have to deal with it, hoping it won’t be too long of a walk from where I can find parking. And this encampment is hard to find, as I recall, I was there once before maybe a year ago now.
