  1. Of course they did.

If you didn’t vote for Trump, this is what you voted for.

“Dems Include Money for Abortion Providers in $1.9 Trillion COVID Aid Package

Massive stimulus bill stacked with progressive priorities”

“Tucked inside the Biden administration’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package is a provision to restore millions in government funding to Planned Parenthood.

The $1.9 trillion stimulus package Democrats say aims to reboot the economy provides a $50 million boost to the Title X family planning program, which under the Biden administration will supply abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood with government funds. The Trump administration had amended Title X to make abortion providers ineligible for the funds, which are intended for health services and family planning, but the change is in the process of being reversed, restoring a giant revenue stream for Planned Parenthood.

While the stimulus is intended to reboot an economy suffering the after-effects of COVID-19 and government restrictions on economic activity, it also features major progressive policy goals. In addition to expanding taxpayer funding for abortion services, the aid package also includes a provision to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Senate Democrats are planning on using the budget reconciliation process to pass the package, meaning it can pass with just 50 votes in favor and Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the tie.

The boost to the Title X program comes after lengthy battles over Planned Parenthood’s role in government funding and stimulus packages. Some states declared abortion to be an essential service and allowed abortion clinics to remain open while others ordered the clinics to close as part of coronavirus-related shutdowns. In Pennsylvania, for example, Gov. Tom Wolf (D.) ordered all elective surgeries suspended during the crisis while exempting abortion clinics. States like Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas all moved to suspend abortion services, prompting legal battles.

Additionally, some blue states also moved to expand access to abortions through telemedicine in the early days of the pandemic. A group of Democratic state attorneys general called on the Food and Drug Administration to loosen restrictions on abortion drugs. In January, however, the Supreme Court ruled against allowing abortion medication to be prescribed remotely.

With Biden in power, Planned Parenthood has a far friendlier administration after four years of repeated clashes with the Trump administration.

Planned Parenthood left the Title X family planning program during the Trump administration after the administration changed its requirements to forbid abortion referrals.”

    Own it.

  2. The Traitor Wing, soon to be the new Feckless Cucks Party.

Romney, Murkowski, Sasse, Collins, Toomey, and Cassidy.

“Senators say as many as a half-dozen GOP lawmakers could vote with Democrats to convict former President Trump for inciting an insurrection on Jan. 6 after the powerful presentations by impeachment managers, including chilling footage of the attack on the Capitol.

That would not be enough to secure a conviction of Trump, something that would require at least 17 Republican votes assuming every Democrat in the chamber votes to impeach. But it would be the largest bipartisan Senate majority in history for a presidential impeachment vote.

Here’s a look at the six GOP votes seen as being in play.”

  3. Xi probably gave Joe the CCP handbook for Xmas.

“Rep. Mark Green: Cancel culture eerily similar to Communist China playbook to control its people

China seeks to shape its ideal citizen: don’t ask questions, disobey or think for yourself”

“Totalitarians of the past kept their lists of dissidents in paper files, but the CCP keeps records on all citizens digitized, complete with facial recognition, biometric material and intensive data tracking.

More than threats of physical force or imprisonment, China’s social credit system uses social shaming and ostracization to ensure total control of citizens. Anything from jaywalking, traffic violations, smoking in a non-smoking area, missing a payment or disturbing neighbors is used to determine one’s social credit score.

“Bad” behavior lowers a person’s score and can make it difficult for them to buy, sell, travel, get loans or send their children to college. “Very bad” behavior, such as political dissent, can get someone and their family members blacklisted, making it difficult for them to function in society.

China’s social credit system is about power and conformity. It’s an attempt to shape citizens into the CCP’s ideal subject: don’t ask questions, disobey or think for yourself.

It’s easy to look at China’s repressive regime and think that it could never happen here. Yet after hearing demands from the far left to silence conservative voices, and after watching big tech and big business band together to deplatform conservatives, I’m beginning to think America could be like a frog boiling slowly in a pot.

What are the signs that the U.S. has its own social credit system? What else do you call it when a Democrat senator demands Republicans be put on a no-fly-list for how they voted, or when an editor is forced to resign for allowing a Republican to publish an opinion piece in the editorial section of his newspaper?

Big tech has increased its censorship of those they disagree with as well. Before the election, Twitter suppressed the New York Post’s story on Hunter Biden, YouTube removed two videos from a Senate hearing about COVID treatments, and in another instance, Google blocked ads from a legal group against court packing. Then Amazon, Apple and Google exercised their monopoly power to deplatform Parler, the biggest conservative alternative to Twitter.

And this is just the beginning of the left’s activity to silence dissent.

A PBS lawyer was caught on camera calling for reeducation camps for the kids of conservatives, and numerous political pundits have called for cable companies to deplatform Fox News.

The push by the left to censor viewpoints that do not conform with liberal orthodoxy is dangerous and antithetical to the freedom of speech and free exchange of ideas our country holds dear. “

“Twitter Permanently Suspends Project Veritas, Locked James O’Keefe’s Account

O’Keefe: “Does Twitter consider reporting information the public has a right to know private information? This is quite the Rubicon we’re crossing if Twitter wants to ban this particular piece of information.”

“Twitter kicked off Project Veritas from the platform for breaking its “private information policy.”

It also locked founder James O’Keefe out from his personal account.

It comes after Project Veritas posted a video of Facebook executives discussing censorship tools:

“We have a system that is able to freeze commenting on threads in cases where our systems are detecting that there may be a thread that has hate speech or violence, sort of in the comments,” Vice President of Integrity Guy Rosen can be seen explaining in the footage.

In a second video posted by Project Veritas, one of its staffers is seen confronting Rosen about his remarks outside his home as he returned from a jog.

“When you talk about freezing comments containing hate speech, what do you mean by that?” the Veritas staffer standing on the sidewalk asks Rosen as he enters his home. “How do you define ‘hate speech?’ Is it just speech that you hate?” he continues in the seconds-long interaction.

The numbers on the exec’s home address were visible in the clip, but the street name was not. License plates on surrounding cars are blurred.”

  5. A judge has slapped down one of Soros’ plants in Cali.

“George Gascón is the far-left district attorney in Los Angeles. He’s among those prosecutors who, with the backing of George Soros, have gained power and are using it to let criminals walk, or at least to treat them leniently.

To the latter end, Gascón issued a directive to his attorneys forbidding them from seeking longer sentences for repeat offenders under the state’s Three Strikes Law, as well as in several other types of cases where the law mandates sentencing enhancements for those convicted of serious crimes who have prior convictions.

Gascón’s willful refusal to follow California law didn’t sit well with his prosecutors. The Association of Deputy District Attorneys for Los Angeles County (ADDA) brought a lawsuit against Gascón.

Now, a local judge, James Chalfant, has granted a preliminary injunction against Gascón’s directive. The judge said:

The District Attorney’s disregard of the Three Strikes law ‘plead and prove’ requirement is unlawful, as is requiring deputy DA’s to seek dismissal of pending sentencing enhancements without a lawful basis.

Judge Chalfant went further. He declared that the district attorney’s order forbidding all three-strikes sentences puts prosecutors at risk of being found in contempt of court for illegal and unethical conduct.”

  6. You may want to look up “cuck” and “cuckold” in the urban dictionary before you use it as an insult. About 20 years ago, young neo-cons adopted the insult to signify conservatives who were weak and would let their party/ideology to be ****** over by an other party or ideology, the parallel to its original meaning is quite clear. There are better words to express distaste for a politicians actions.

  7. The social credit system everyone thinks the Chinese are creating has yet to fully exist and the current verision seems to be more of a gov’t run voluntary program similar to what business’s here use as loyalty cards. There’s some overreach esp in Uyigur but its not yet the Black Mirror episode everyone thinks it is. That being said, even the minimal system in place is not analogous to whatever people think is happening in “cancel culture”.

All I see is private corporations gurading the use of their intellectual property. If Project Veritas broke the terms of service then Twitter or any other company can ban them. If you adovacte gov’t intervention into the use of intellectual property, you set a dangerous precedent…. one by the way I might enjoy watching play out. If its okay to tell Twitter who they may or may not ban, then its definetely okay to tell Twitter they need collect a gov’t tax on media use similar to a sales tax. And if the gov’t can control corporate terms of use then they can control a corporation in other aspects — wages, benefits, health and safety, use of technology, use of tax shelters etc. Socialism could use the backdoor of gov’t interevetion the Republicans seems to want to create.

The fact Republicans are upset with private corporations makes me wonder if they were sincere in their adherance to free market capitalism — perhaps its a case of trust the market unless the market is no longer on our side. Amazon etc deplatformed Parler bc it violated the terms of use. You can’t sign a contract and then violate it and expect not to be tossed out. 30-40 years ago the right demanded ideas be decided by the market. In a free market, the better ideas will triumph we were told — gov’t rules and regulations just coddled weak and bad ideas. Now when its apparent that captialism doesn’t support their ideas they want gov’t intervention.

The most amusing and ironic episode of cancel culture is the video I shared by Newsmax. They had the pillow guy on and were set to talk to him about his Twitter account and cancel culture. He wanted to talk about election fraud — a no-no in any media now that DVS will sue any form of falshehood. He was shut down and told you are here to talk about cancel culutre — they cancelled him bc they wanted him to talk about cancel culture not election fraud. This of course indicates “canceling” is not reserved for leftist — all media does it based on legal, or marketing reasons.

  8. btw, I’ve always censored what I’ve said on Facebook — I will only say things there that I would say in my class room. Its a public forum, it has a terms of use, and I am a member of the College of Teachers which has a morals clause right in the Education Act. I save my private thoughts for private discussion with friends and family in real life.

Even here, I self-censor mostly out of respect for the people who read the posts here and for the general reason that if you won’t say it in real life why say it when you are hiding behind a screen and a fake name. Self respect is important.

  9. I haven’t really followed the Trump trial — the outcome is predetermined but some things struck me as strange. Apparently several Republican senators haven’t bothered to show up for some of the proceedings or are sitting in the gallery doing other work/playing on their phone. As the Senate acts like a jury, can a Senator be dismissed as a juror if he doesn’t attend?

The other strange thing is Trump’s legal strategy. They seem deteremined to defend by discussed other politician’s behaviour. This is similar to arguing a speeding ticket by showing other people speeding. It may indicate others are guility but it doesn’t take away the fact you are guility. I’m sure this strategy plays to Trump’s base in that it allows them to point fingers elsewhere but everyone does it is not an excuse for illegal behaviour.

  10. And a favorite from Scripture: The tongue is a fire (James 3:6).

  12. hwesseli: Repeating your version of the Newsmax/Mike Lindell exchange over and over here doesn’t make it any less dishonest. Lindell responded directly to the question that was posed to him, i.e. his stance on the election fraud was the very reason why Twitter censored him.

Heather Childers: “What happened with your Twitter account, and the company page?”
Lindell: Well, first mine was taken down b/c we have all the election fraud with these Dominion machines… we have 100% proof.”

After Bob Sellers interrupted Lindell with the prepared Newsmax statement and they were talking over each other, Sellers then asked Lindell if he thought the ban could simply be temporary instead of permanent, and Lindell replied that he wanted it to be permanent because “they did this b/c I’m revealing all the evidence on Friday of all the election fraud with these machines.”

Sellers acted like Twitter, and he himself ended up censoring Lindell (and even walked off the set).

Newsmax realized their terrible mistake (and all the viewers they would lose) and invited Lindell to come back for another discussion of cancel culture.

  13. Watched the video you linked — it backs up what I said. Newsmax wanted to cancel Liddel’s desire to speak on election fraud. They invited him back on the network but its obvious he was told what not to say and in exchange he was given a 5 minute infomerical. Not a single mention of election fraud not even a hint in his second interview. He took the slap on the wrist and moved on to selling pillows. Clearly Newsmax and others knew they were lying and now that DVS is ready to litigate they are cancelling any mention of election fraud. Cancel culture at its finest

  14. Correct me if I’m wrong, but of the seven, Richard Burr voted for impeachment but previously voted that the impeachment was uncostitutional — an unusual position.

Burr, Collins and Toomey know that in a statewide vote a pro Trump vote will make for a difficult reeelection. For Toomey especially, gerrymandering may save Penn reps and state Republicans but will not save him. Sasse, Cassidy and Romney then voted by their consciences and I’m never sure about Alaskan politicians.

It will be an interesting mid terms

“Fury at ‘do not resuscitate’ notices given to Covid patients with learning disabilities

Vulnerable people have encountered ‘shocking discrimination’ during pandemic, says Mencap charity”

“People with learning disabilities have been given do not resuscitate orders during the second wave of the pandemic, in spite of widespread condemnation of the practice last year and an urgent investigation by the care watchdog.

Mencap said it had received reports in January from people with learning disabilities that they had been told they would not be resuscitated if they were taken ill with Covid-19.

The Care Quality Commission said in December that inappropriate Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) notices had caused potentially avoidable deaths last year.

DNACPRs are usually made for people who are too frail to benefit from CPR, but Mencap said some seem to have been issued for people simply because they had a learning disability. The CQC is due to publish a report on the practice within weeks.”

  20. https://web.archive.org/web/20210107040203/http://bestnewshere.com/judge-releases-dominion-audit-report-system-designed-to-create-systemic-fraud/

“A Michigan judge has released the bombshell report on the audit of Dominion Voting Systems, revealing that the machines and their software were “designed” to “create systemic fraud.”

The report covers the forensic audit of Dominion’s machines in Michigan’s Antrim County — which received national attention after it was discovered that 6,000 votes for President Donald Trump were “flipped” to Democrat Joe Biden due to an “error.”

13th Circuit Court Judge Kevin Elsenheimer ordered the report’s protective order to be lifted on Monday night, allowing the details of the audit to be unsealed and released to the public.

The data firm that conducted the forensic audit of Dominion Voting Systems determined that the machines and software in Michigan showed that they were designed to create fraud and influence election results, the report reveals.

“We conclude that the Dominion Voting System is intentionally and purposefully designed with inherent errors to create systemic fraud and influence election results,” Russell Ramsland Jr., co-founder of Allied Security Operations Group, said in a preliminary report.

“The system intentionally generates an enormously high number of ballot errors.”

“The electronic ballots are then transferred for adjudication,” the report continues.

“The intentional errors lead to bulk adjudication of ballots with no oversight, no transparency, and no audit trail.

“This leads to voter or election fraud,” Ramsland Jr. explains.

“Based on our study, we conclude that The Dominion Voting System should not be used in Michigan,” he added.

“We further conclude that the results of Antrim County should not have been certified.””

  21. A full nationwide investigation of these fraudulent Dominion machines needs to be undertaken.

“There have been some rather significant updates to the current battle going on in different key battleground states concerning the possibility of voter fraud that took place during the 2020 election and resulted in former President Donald Trump being cheated out of a second term in the White House.

According to Gateway Pundit, there is some new information to go along with a report they published on their website on Wednesday of this week concerning voter fraud in the state of New Hampshire. They previously reported that a recent hand recount revealed that every GOP candidate in Windham, New Hampshire was shorted by 300 votes by Dominion-owned voting machines.

The folks over at GP then spoke with Dr. David Strang M.D., who is the Belknap County Republican Committee State Committee Member for the New Hampshire Republican Party.

David said that the GOP candidates in Windham had a total of 6 percent of their overall votes removed by the Dominion machines. Strang also said that these same Dominion-owned machines are used in around 85 percent of the towns in the state.

This makes the results of the 2020 election all the more suspect in New Hampshire, especially when you take into consideration the fact that Republicans actually turned the state red in their Senate for a total of 14 seats to 10 in 2020.

The GOP also flipped the House red by taking 213-187 majority. And yet, somehow, despite Republicans winning such huge victories in New Hampshire, Joe Biden, who was 4th in the overall primary, managed to beat former President Trump 52.7 to 45.4?”

“New York Democrats join Republican call to strip Gov. Cuomo of emergency powers

Members of the New York State Assembly have expressed calls to strip Gov. Andrew Cuomo of his emergency powers following revelations that the New York governor’s administration deliberately hid the true extent of coronavirus-related deaths in nursing homes throughout the state.”

“Members of the New York State Assembly have expressed calls to strip Gov. Andrew Cuomo of his emergency powers following revelations that the New York governor’s administration deliberately hid the true extent of coronavirus-related deaths in nursing homes throughout the state.

Cuomo’s emergency powers were granted by the Assembly last March with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and allowed him enact zones throughout the state and enforce lockdowns in accordance with guidance provided by the state’s Department of Health.

Earlier this week, a Cuomo top aide admitted that the administration covered up nursing home deaths to avoid scrutiny from the Department of Justice.

Newsweek reports that a number of Democratic state senators have joined with their Republican counterparts to repeal the governor’s powers, following a virtual press conference on Friday.

The powers, which were initially set to expire on April 30, provide Cuomo the ability to “suspend specific provisions of any statute, local law, ordinance, or orders, rules or regulations of any agency” and circumvent normal legislative procedures. They effectively grant the governor unchecked rulership over the state of New York.

“Without exception, the New York State Constitution calls for the Legislature to govern as a co-equal branch of government,” the senators’ joint statement read. “While COVID-19 has tested the limits of our people and state –– and, early during the pandemic, required the government to restructure decision making to render rapid, necessary public health judgments –– it is clear that the expanded emergency powers granted to the Governor are no longer appropriate.”

“While the executive’s authority to issue directives is due to expire on April 30, we urge the Senate to advance and adopt a repeal as expeditiously as possible,” they stated.”

  25. The incestuous relationship between Dem admins and propagandists pretending to be journalists continues….

“White House deputy press secretary T.J. Ducklo has resigned, the day after he was suspended for issuing a sexist and profane threat to a journalist seeking to cover his relationship with another reporter.

Ducklo had been put on a weeklong suspension without pay on Friday after a report surfaced in Vanity Fair outlining his sexist threats against a female Politico journalist to try to suppress a story about his relationship, telling her “I will destroy you.” The journalist had been seeking to report on his relationship with a political reporter at Axios who had previously covered the Biden campaign and transition.

In a statement Saturday, Ducklo said he was “devastated to have embarrassed and disappointed my White House colleagues and President Biden.”

“No words can express my regret, my embarrassment and my disgust for my behavior,” he said. I used language that no woman should ever have to hear from anyone, especially in a situation where she was just trying to do her job. It was language that was abhorrent, disrespectful and unacceptable.”

Before Politico broke the story Tuesday, People Magazine published a glowing profile of the relationship. It was the first time either one had publicly acknowledged that they were dating.

It’s the first departure from the new administration, less than a month into President Joe Biden’s tenure, and it comes as the White House was facing criticism for not living up to standards set by Biden himself in their decision to retain Ducklo.

During a virtual swearing-in for staff on Inauguration Day, Biden said that “if you ever work with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I will fire you on the spot.”

“No ifs, ands or buts,” Biden added.”

  28. Not sure if you can call Pelosi a failure in the impeachment process — the second Trump impeachment was the most bipartisan in history — convincing 7 Republicans to vote for convinction clearly shows that they had a case and those with little political risk (full term to go, retirement, jungle primary) did vote to convinct.

Tychicus — voting for one party in state elections and another in federal or presiential doesn’t indicate fraud. Its happened before and will happen again especially in New England where the Republicans are still the country club Republicanism of Rockefellor. In neighbouring Maine, Collins won overwhelming as did Biden. These results actually indicate that fraud was unlikeley — if Democrats wanted to steal Senate seats, Maine would’ve been easy to slip through as Biden won by double digits.

Interstring infor on Burr but he’s retiring. Just quickly glanced over his political bio in wikipedia — he’s quite the conservative republican and almost always votes the party line (98.5%). He was against imprechment #1 and called the second impeachment unconstitutional yet voted to convict.

  29. In NH, the issue was that Dems managed to skim 6% of the vote off the top of every Republican candidate in races where there was a recount, and fraudulent Dominion machines were used in 85% of the counties in the state. Their machines were behind the fraud in too many states.

A few days ago, Maria Zack provided an update of the situation in Italy. She received Intel that before the inauguration, Biden called former PM Matteo Renzi and asked him to “pull your support for (PM) Conte – tell him that he needs to go back to teaching. We want to get a more leftist, pro-China PM in place.” Renzi pulled his support, and Conte actually had to resign 11 days later. The government collapsed, there was total chaos. A new pro-family, pro-truth-and-transparency party has surfaced, and it has rapidly grown in strength.

Just a few days ago, the pro-Chinese 5-Star party split into two, so it is crumbling and China is freaking out. Which means that Biden is also freaking out, b/c there are a lot of people who want to rip the Band-aid off and show true transparency to the Italian people and to the USA.

The US election was stolen, as anyone who is willing to look at the evidence already knows. Perhaps it will have to be Italy, which was “ground zero” for the fraud operations of Nov 3-4, where the “transparency cloud” will have to be broken through so that the lid is finally lifted to expose all the corruption for all the world to see.

  30. Took them long enough…. And the damage and slandering of Trump supporters was

This is old fake news at this point.

“The New York Times Retracts the Sicknick Story

Like so many fake news stories about Donald Trump and his supporters, millions of Americans believe the Sicknick story as truth; even a correction won’t change their minds.”

“In a quiet but stunning correction, the New York Times backed away from its original report that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was killed by a Trump supporter wielding a fire extinguisher during the January 6 melee at the Capitol building. Shortly after American Greatness published my column Friday that showed how the Times gradually was backpedaling on its January 8 bombshell, the paper posted this caveat:

UPDATE: New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.

The paper continued to revise its story within the body of the original January 8 story: “Law enforcement officials initially said Mr. Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher, but weeks later, police sources and investigators were at odds over whether he was hit. Medical experts have said he did not die of blunt force trauma, according to one law enforcement official.”

What’s missing, however, is how the Times first described what happened to Sicknick. “Mr. Sicknick, 42, an officer for the Capitol Police, died on Thursday from brain injuries he sustained after Trump loyalists who overtook the complex struck him in the head with a fire extinguisher, according to two law enforcement officials.”

The account of Sicknick’s death was reported as fact, not speculation or rumor. Further, it appears that the anonymous sources were not law enforcement officials but people “close” to the police department—which means they could have been anyone from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to inveterate liar U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to the Democratic mayor of Washington, D.C., Muriel Bowser.

Not only was the Times’ untrue story about Sicknick’s death accepted as fact by every news media organization from the Wall Street Journal to the Washington Post, political pundits on the NeverTrump Right also regurgitated the narrative that Sicknick was “murdered” as did lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

In an outrageous effort to create more favorable optics before the impeachment trial, House Democrats honored Sicknick in a rare memorial at the Capitol Rotunda on February 3. Joe Biden, in a statement issued after Donald Trump was acquitted Saturday afternoon, repeated the lie about Sicknick. “It was nearly two weeks ago that Jill and I paid our respects to Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who laid in honor in the Rotunda after losing his life protecting the Capitol from a riotous, violent mob on January 6, 2021.””

Liars, liars, everywhere…. as far as the eye can see on the media/Dem landscape.

  31. I hope you’re enjoying the fall from Dem and media graces for these sanctimonious @#$%^% as much as I am.

    Morally superior? No.

    Morally reprehensible? Yes.

    “The Wages of Trump Hatred

Hating Donald Trump in the hater’s eyes makes one moral. But in the real world, such pathological fixations usually result in abject immorality and moral decline.
    By Victor Davis Hanson”

“Over the last five years, the pathology of Trump Derangement Syndrome has been widely described. It was more than a chronic disease and was often characterized by an array of rapidly advancing symptoms of deterioration in reasoning, emotional stability, and personal ethics.

More practically, often the deranged Trump hater found in his odium a cover for all sorts of prior personal intemperance and careerist dissipation. Loudly hating Trump became a passport for excess, private and public, and a sort of preemptive insurance that excused or rather greenlighted smears, slander, and personal misdeeds.

    The Anti-Lincoln Project
For over a year, the theme of the NeverTrump Lincoln Project was the organizers’ professed superior morality. They had it; most others on the Right did not. Only a select heroic few of the Republican Party would dare to break ranks to end the danger to the country posed by a supposedly morally inferior Donald Trump.

Forget Trump’s economic, domestic, cultural, and foreign policy record that had belied critics by its successes—despite historic opposition, investigation, denigration, and obstruction. No matter. Character was king. Again, the Lincoln Project had it; Trump followers did not.

The Lincoln Project’s Band of Brothers—initially four financially strapped, embittered middle-aged white male Washington insiders—lectured the country that those few, those happy few, that band of brothers would fight for us. If only they were adequately funded, they could save us from the moral turpitude of four more years of Trump.

Their ostensible promise to the Left was that they would hold down their end of the bargain by maintaining the 10-12 percent of Republicans who did not vote for Trump in 2016. In truth, they may have had nothing to do with preserving a bare six percent of Republicans who would again vote against Trump. That was a modest aim, but apparently, every bit of Trump derangement was fundable. Or as the departing, now mansion-buying Steve Schmidt put it, “I really didn’t give a sh-t how many Republicans were voting for Trump or not.”

If one were to believe all the sermonizing of these latter-day Elmer Gantrys, then their inherent paradoxes, hypocrisies, and selfish agendas might magically disappear.

For example, it was quickly evident that the Lincoln Project luminaries were not just fixated on destroying Trump and derailing the most conservative presidential agenda since Ronald Reagan’s, but also on refuting their own supposedly lifelong commitment to conservative causes by abetting the Biden campaign and the hard-Left interests that drove it.

When Republicans hired them, they were conservative; when they did not, these buskins were liberal. To ensure their own continued largess, they were not just to be Romneyite rejectionists, not just Bidenites, but abettors of the neo-socialist cause of Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and the squad.

Money was the prime impetus to the project. Again, we were supposed to forget that some of the Lincoln Project luminaries were flat broke. Who cared that others owed huge sums in back taxes, with no apparent way of repayment—given their own reputations for failed campaigns and expensive, but otherwise mediocre consultancy?

Almost all were eager to set up shadow service companies to siphon off the expected huge sums from rich leftists. The project’s directors eagerly assumed their roles of useful idiocy, their donors that of cynical manipulators. Both conspired to destroy their shared bogeyman, Donald Trump, and with him all obstacles to the new hard progressive future.

Before November 3, the media was not so much interested in the backgrounds or details of these handy moral preeners. Then suddenly Trump lost the election. Biden was inaugurated. And, again mysteriously, a recalibrated media found the grifters of the Lincoln Project expendable, although not so idiotic—given that they had diverted millions of dollars into their own private coffers in the form of “consulting fees.”

After November 3, we also learned that co-founder John Weaver was a sexual bird of prey. He had leveraged his newfound Lincoln largess and influence as quid pro quos for his own sexual predations—with little apparent regard for the age of his targeted young male victims.

This sordid fact was apparently known to many of the pre-election sermonizers at the Lincoln Project. But again, disclosure of that fact, in a cost-to-benefit analysis, was considered secondary to preserving the growing revenue stream from the Left.

So these moralists lied about their ignorance of their own pederast, and apparently on one occasion at least would-be pedophile, in their midst.

Only after the election, we learned that Rick Wilson and Weaver in particular were raking in and largely disguising exorbitant fees, in part to pay huge back tax bills. After the election, the project’s legal consultants suddenly were “shocked” by such disclosures, and began leaving the now-discredited project—at precisely the time when it was in dire need of a legal autopsy and full disclosure.

Rarely has the abyss between the pretense and the lie been so vast: a group subsidized on purported conservative moral principles, and aimed at stopping the cultural damage to the cause by Donald Trump, was funded by left-wingers eager to buy off a few financially imperiled has-beens, who exaggerated their vestigial consulting clout among the Washington swamp. But then again, beggars cannot be choosers.”

And there’s much more. Read the rest. VDH never disappoints.

  32. Good quote (and, frankly, an understatement) from a preacher in the past:

“God doesn’t necessarily need the United States in order to carry out His will.”
