It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.
Anyone else?
Psalm 140
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
protect me from the violent,
2 who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.
3 They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.
4 Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
protect me from the violent,
who devise ways to trip my feet.
5 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me;
they have spread out the cords of their net
and have set traps for me along my path.
6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”
Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.
7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
you shield my head in the day of battle.
8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;
do not let their plans succeed.
9 Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;
may the mischief of their lips engulf them.
10 May burning coals fall on them;
may they be thrown into the fire,
into miry pits, never to rise.
11 May slanderers not be established in the land;
may disaster hunt down the violent.
12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence.
I’m going to be reading the first chapter of Mrs. OC today for a possible recorded book. (I’ve got the rights back). Could you pray it goes well for both me and the recording engineer?
I’ll spare you the issues. 🙂
This is a trial. If it goes well, amen, and I’ll read the whole book. If it does not, well, back to the listening board. 🙂

Please pray that I will remain calm, and have peace in my heart, as I begin slowly gathering whatever I need to apply for Social Security (survivors’ benefits). For the past month, whenever I have merely thought about it, I have felt somewhat anxious. (So I tried to not to think about it.)
A little while ago, I was looking at the SS website, finding the page to tell me what I will need and what to do. There is a long list of things I need to gather, and I’m not sure I will find all of it. The site said not to worry if you can’t find everything, because they can find some of the info themselves. But just looking at that stuff online has me feeling anxious a bit. But I also feel more prepared, knowing what I need to do.
So please pray that I will be able to find as much of the info as I can, but most of all, that I won’t panic or feel anxious as I do all of this. Thank you.
