Prayer Requests 1-6-21

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 128

A song of ascents.

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
    who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
    blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
    within your house;
   your children will be like olive shoots
    around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
    for the man who fears the Lord.

May the Lord bless you from Zion;
    may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
    all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children—
    peace be on Israel.

  1. Prayer for daughter, mother of the twins. After a lengthy text discussion last night, she has decided that the world is out to get her and everybody thinks she is terrible so she will come to get her children on Monday to relieve us of the burden. We had hoped they would be in a good place and ready for them on Monday, but evidently not. Wisdom. Open the eyes of their hearts.

  2. Her husband agrees that she is a ticking time bomb.

    Prayer for husband as he is struggling mightily with this election. Trust in the Sovereign God.

  3. It’s hard to know the best way to pray for her and her family situation. I like to pray for truth to be revealed, the innocent shielded, God’s glory to fall, and for the individual at the center to hit bottom sooner rather than later.

    Those prayers often hurt to pray, however, and are hard. I’m so very sorry.

    However, we worship a miracle-working God (see boy twin), and we can approach Him with confidence.

  4. Uncle Frank appears to be doing better and we are relieved. Thank you for your prayers.

    LA hospital situation is a nightmare; our physician family member is stressed almost beyond endurance. A close colleague’s husband took a bad turn on Day 5 and is now in the COVID ICU. We’re all horrified.

    My EMT was very fatigued on day 2 after receiving the vaccine. (A common side effect to Moderna). She went to bed at 7 last night.

    4 friends have lost an elderly (85+) family member since Christmas.

  5. The scene in the Capitol today is disconcerting, to say the least. Yes, it’s unprecedented (though in recent days with the flames being fanned, perhaps sadly predictable).

    All of it is alarming.
