It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her former students, and the people of PNG.
Anyone else?
Psalm 94
1 The Lord is a God who avenges.
O God who avenges, shine forth.
2 Rise up, Judge of the earth;
pay back to the proud what they deserve.
3 How long, Lord, will the wicked,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?
4 They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, Lord;
they oppress your inheritance.
6 They slay the widow and the foreigner;
they murder the fatherless.
7 They say, “The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob takes no notice.”
8 Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans;
he knows that they are futile.
12 Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
the one you teach from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,
till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not reject his people;
he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
17 Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—
a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?
21 The wicked band together against the righteous
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my fortress,
and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
23 He will repay them for their sins
and destroy them for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will destroy them.
Prayer for daughter and son in law. Special needs children often bring to bad conclusions in marriages, We are praying for solidifying of marriage instead.

Mumsee, I know of a case that a marriage that got off to a very rocky start ended up strengthened by the husband and wife both loving their second child, who had intense physical needs (and who didn’t make it to her third birthday . . . among other things, she had to be fed by tube and her throat suctioned several times a day, so she was an extreme level of special needs).

Cheryl, that is the path I am praying for.

It’s going to be hard either way, but it will be harder without the person who loves the children as much as she does. 😦

Mike is headed down, to offer assistance at son in law’s request. He may mediate, babysit, bring children back up here so they can work on them….wisdom.

Please pray for my friend Nadine. (She is mostly a Facebook friend, but she is local, and we have met in real life.) She needs an emergency hysterectomy, and will be having the surgery tomorrow. Her doctor insists on keeping his hysterectomy patients in the hospital overnight afterwards, while hysterectomy patients are usually sent home the same day. She is glad about that.
Nadine is self-employed, and will be out of work for at least a couple weeks (but I think she said longer than that).
Please pray that the surgery will go well, without any complications, and that the GoFundMe account that a friend set up for her, to help her make it through this time financially, will bring in enough funds to help. (She has her main business, but also works a part-time bartending job to make ends meet.) Thank you.

Maybe I should mention that she is around 50, and her kids are grown, so there is no sorrow about not being able to have children.

I forgot the most important part of my request, to please pray for her salvation.
Nadine had a bad childhood and has been on her own since she was 15. She is fiercely independent, as well as being skeptical about people (although she does have some close friends she trusts). She has been deeply touched that so many of her friends have donated to the GoFundMe and offered her their prayers and concern.
Please pray that the gratitude she feels will turn her heart to God.

They have decided they are both too stubborn to leave so they will work it out. Mike was headed down when he came to an impasse on the road and decided God was letting him return home so he did. We remain available.
