Good morning. Should be an interesting day in the media. If they get rid of all the money in politics it would seem a lot of people will be out of business. Unreal that money.
Consider this:
If Trump doesn’t win re-election, who will lead the country”
If no strong man leads the country, where does America stand in the world?
If America isn’t dominant in international intrigue, where is the world headed?
QoD
What is the future for your children?
“Even so, Come Lord Jesus” But I fear that it will get worse before then.
Well, it isn’t the first time the results have been delayed. Took a month the last time…
Chas’ QoD: I do not know the future of the next generations, but there is only one concern for them, that they will follow Christ. My mother often relates the story of when she was expecting her first child, and her mother said, “I don’t want to discourage you dear, but it is a terrible time to have a child.” It was 1979. That Eldest child of my mother’s grew up, married, and had children of her own, all of whom are US citizens, since they were born there, and the eldest of whom is now 18 and voted yesterday. I do not fear for them in any way, but I long to see them all know and follow the Lord. The eldest two have both been confirmed in their church. That is the only concern for all my nieces and nephews, that they might know Christ “and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” (Philippians 3:10). That is the only security for them. There is a well known Christian blogger who happens to be Canadian and fellow southern Ontarian, who posted a heartbreaking post this morning. He has suddenly lost his only son, who collapsed and died while at college from an unknown cause, and this brother’s only comfort is that his son knew the Lord: https://www.challies.com/articles/my-son-my-dear-son-has-gone-to-be-with-the-lord/
Strange indeed. The “left” still doesn’t get it. I think some “shenanigans” will be pulled and the presidency will be given to Biden, but that won’t solve the problem.
Morning! We had a lovely time of gathering last night with our small group. We prayed and left fully convinced He indeed has a purpose and plan for such a time as this.
Dentist appt this morning then a shopping trip with my unbelieving neighbor who voted for Biden…. 😳 have mercy….
Ultimately God allows the country to be run by whom He wills to run it. All we do right now is speculate and worry, or we can choose to pray and be anxious for nothing. This is excellent training ground for flexing our faith muscles. Today has enough troubles of its own so why worry about many tomorrows from now. God is good and turns bad to good for those who love Him and are called to His purposes. It is true that I have my definite preference and here in Georgia we have two Senate races I feel much concern over. My county has not finished counting. But overall, I must trust in God and the unseen rather than the seen.
Still, today will be fraught with angst on both “sides;” there will be all kinds of chest pounding, wailing and threats.
Yes, results have been delayed before. But I don’t think the nation, in recent years, has been this much on the brink of a political nervous breakdown — even without what happened last night.
We can pray that all those outstanding votes can be counted asap, states need to pull out all the stops to accomplish that. The longer this uncertainty lingers, even another day or two, the worse it all will be. Even after that’s “done” one side clearly won’t accept the result considering how close this is.
I think we need to be praying for a shield of protection around the vote counters. The job has got to be stressful and the reactions of some frightening. They need to do their jobs unencumbered and without fear of harassment or pressure from onlookers.
Over the last several weeks, inspired especially by one of the Colson Center’s weekly times of prayer for the Church and the nation, I’ve been struck by a particular part of Jesus’ “High Priestly Prayer,” which is recorded for us in John 17. A central theme of this most important of all prayers, in which God the Son appeals to God the Father on the evening before His crucifixion, is unity. “Holy Father,” Jesus prays, “keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are.” Unity would even, Jesus said, help the world believe that He was the Son of God.
It would take months to unpack this prayer, especially the mind-blowing idea that our unity with each other is to be such that it reflects the unity Jesus has with His Father. Such unity seems impossible, of course, unless we remember how such unity is achieved. We may, Jesus prayed, “all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us…”
In other words, it is only through vertical unity with God that the horizontal unity of His people is possible. This is why true unity is never achieved by compromising what is true. As we are unified with God in Christ, we are unified with each other.
Cast your vote with an air of bold and defiant levity. Don’t take yourself, or this election, so seriously. No string of unfortunate events can stop Christ’s beating heart of mercy. No politician can un-Easter our Lord.
Whatever happens in Tuesday’s presidential election, I can tell you one thing for sure: God’s not worried about it.
… But if Biden wins, you say…
But if Trump wins, you say…
“But if.” Do you, even for a fleeting moment, imagine that this is God’s first rodeo? Do you honestly think Jesus’s blood pressure has risen a mere one half of one percent during this election cycle?
Tell me something.
Where were you when God laid the foundations of the earth? …
… Should Biden win, all shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
Should Trump win, all shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
You know why? Because Christ is risen and is seated at the right hand of God. …
… May things get worse? Sure.
May they get better? Sure.
Whatever happens on Tuesday, Tuesday will still be a day when Christ is risen. Your sins will still be forgiven. Your life will still be redeemed. Death will still be conquered. …

Listening to the radio on the way into town. Seems as though many citizens of CO are preparing to leave the state now…I don’t think they will be heading to CA , WA or OR….Wyoming may be a destination.
So thankful for my ladies’ Bible study this a.m. where we studied worshiping God in spirit and in truth. We had our focus on Him and He gave us peace in our hearts. And I have just been on the phone for about an hour with my friend, Karen, and she has peace over the election, too. I feel so blessed and joyful about this unexpected gift.
Little girl does not seem too concerned with the election. She seems more interested in playing with thirteen.
I had a nice visit with the other nineteen. He sent some pic of his baby. His girlfriend was not happy that he was not responding to her texts. But he did not have service here. I tried to encourage him to hold on to his responsibility and step up. We will see.
Good morning! We watched two wonderful Hallmark movies until midnight last night. Then we took a glance at the election news. And it continues . . .

It’s a mess from our limited view, to be sure.
But we can’t see the “big” picture.
