Prayer Requests 9-15-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 39

I said, “I will watch my ways
    and keep my tongue from sin;
   I will put a muzzle on my mouth
    while in the presence of the wicked.”
So I remained utterly silent,
    not even saying anything good.
   But my anguish increased;
my heart grew hot within me.
   While I meditated, the fire burned;
    then I spoke with my tongue:

“Show me, Lord, my life’s end
    and the number of my days;
    let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
    the span of my years is as nothing before you.
   Everyone is but a breath,
    even those who seem secure.

“Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom;
    in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth
    without knowing whose it will finally be.

“But now, Lord, what do I look for?
    My hope is in you.
Save me from all my transgressions;
    do not make me the scorn of fools.
I was silent; I would not open my mouth,
    for you are the one who has done this.
10 Remove your scourge from me;
    I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
11 When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin,
    you consume their wealth like a moth—
    surely everyone is but a breath.

12 “Hear my prayer, Lord,
    listen to my cry for help;
    do not be deaf to my weeping.
   I dwell with you as a foreigner,
    a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
13 Look away from me, that I may enjoy life again
    before I depart and am no more.”

  1. Thank You, Father God, for this Tower of Babel moment. Your love is so evident through Your discipline when You allow calamities to reveal what is really important in life. You have confused our speech in this time when communication technology has the greatest capacity. We have super cell towers and have even placed things high in the space above the globe. But so much of what we’ve had has been used for evil. Now it is being used more to call out to You in prayer, and to broadcast sermons and Your word globally. So many of our words have lost their meaning because of the devil’s schemes and lies at work in the lives of the spiritually blind and foolish. Good means bad and bad means good, but that has nothing to do with Your truth. Please forgive our nation for taking of innocent lives through abortion. Thank You for highlighting how all lives matter beginning with conception. Thank You for hearing those crying out to You asking for mercy, healing, a great awakening unlike being woke to lesser things, a huge revival of milktoast Christians, and a new respect of all people because You made them in Your image to glorify You. May You be seen as the ultimate authority in this fallen world arena where we are utterly hopeless without Your providential good gifts, favor with people and You, and Your saving grace and mercy. May we all be more pleasing to You each day that passes than we were the day before. In Jesus’ name, Amen
