  1. But some of them belong on the Politics thread anyhow. I’ll be glad when this election is over.
Only, my rant: I’m afraid it won’t be.
Unless Trump wins by an overwhelming majority, this will go on for years.

  2. 😦 So agree, Chas. We knew this was coming, but it is still sad to see the breakdown of our society.

🙂 So grateful for those standing in the gap, being light and salt and wisely speaking out.

😦 Sorry for my SIL, daughter and all those missing their loved one now. I know we are all glad she is not suffering anymore. I am especially sad for those in the family who do not know the God of all comfort. Praying someday they will.

  3. 🙂 Certain things that Nightingale and I have planned to do had been stalled for quite a while, and I had become discouraged. But now it seems like all of a sudden, things are moving forward. The basement has been mostly cleared out (there is still some stuff down there, of course, but the junk is gone), the valves in the pipes down there have been installed, part of a side yard that was looking trashy has been cleaned up, the carpet that was ripped out of my living room has finally been taken off the back porch (when we had the dumpster), and we are finally in contact with a lawyer about getting the house into Nightingale’s ownership. And there are some other things that have been accomplished, too.

🙂 Also, Nightingale has finally been able to start her classes working towards her RN degree. As I mentioned sometime recently, it will take her eight to ten years to finish, but she is determined. After all, those eight to ten years are going to pass anyway, so they can pass with her wishing she had pursued her RN degree, or end with her attaining it.

😦 It is sad, though (but also a relief), that Nightingale has resigned from being the secretary of the Cub Scout pack and from being a den leader. (And Boy will not be continuing with Scouts.) She had initially planned to keep doing all that as well as school, not to mention work, because she enjoyed it so much. But a combination of the fact that she is already very busy, and that some key figures in the pack are not returning – the ones who had really kept the pack going – made her (and her friend Beth, who also did a lot for the pack) decide it was time to move on.

  4. 😦 The state of the nation. Whichever side wins, by a landslide (unlikely) or a whisker, “this” will be going on for years, I’m afraid. The culture seems to be unraveling from the bottom up; thus, ‘we have what we have’ at the top of the political food chain.

  5. And for a piece of good news, I may have already mentioned. Twin girl went in for her nine month check up and is at the seventy ninth percentile for nine months old, though she was three months premature. That is huge.

  6. This has been going on for some time. I’m just mentioning it now.
Elvera doesn’t recognize me as her husband. She sleeps in the same bed, etc. But she doesn’t believe this is “home”. She keeps thinking that “Charlie” is going to come for her and take her home.
One good thing I gather from this.
She likes “Charlie”. She keeps hoping he will come to rescue her.

  7. That must be very hard Chas.

And whether she ever realizes it or not, Charlie already did come to her rescue, and he continues to every day. She may not see it, but God, your family, and your friends do. You are a blessing to her, and us.

  8. I’m so sorry, Chas. 😦

But it seems like even though she may not know that you are her Charlie, she trusts and likes you anyway. My theory is that deep down, she does know, but her brain just won’t let her remember. Does that make sense?
