Prayer Requests 8-13-20

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 13

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

  1. Prayer for the people in Cedar Rapids. That believers would hold strong and pass that strength to their neighbors as love is poured out from the Endless Supply.

  2. There are still thousands of people without power here in Connecticut due to Tropical Storm Isaias. We have been having temps 90 or over, and high humidity, which must make being without power even so much worse. 😦 (I am grateful that we only lost power for a very short period of time.)

  3. Ninety degrees with high humidity, seriously? I could virtually complain up another storm for you all in those conditions. Be glad I’m not there.

  4. My medical procedure from last week came back perfectly fine, just as the doctor anticipated. It did, however, indicate some brain changes consistent with age–but nothing to worry about.

I went downstairs to look at the mail and I had an invitation to visit a senior housing center.

How do these people know? LOL

My friend who went back east to see her mother and discovered Mom had Lyme’s, has returned home. Mom roared back on the antibodies and sent my friend home. Praise God!

The friend with lung issues has stabilized, too.

    Thanks for prayers.

  5. Home from the followup with the orthopedic surgeon. I was disappointed, though, when he said the shot I received a month ago is probably what’s caused all this improvement. I really was hoping it was a natural “going away” at last of this pain.

But it was one of the slower acting shots apparently — it’s supposed to last 4 months, some folks go a couple years and do fine; but it if wears off much sooner than 4 months I’m to go back and then they’ll look at an MRI. But he did say that from all outward appearances and the office exams he’s done of my knee (bending it and moving it), this doesn’t appear to be a major or serious injury or tear. Still, he said sometimes they just don’t know until an MRI is done, but for now one isn’t needed, he doesn’t feel.

In the meantime, he’s advised low-impact exercise, walking, swimming, exercise bike (which I’m thinking of buying for the house). PT will continue for a while until therapist feels it’s time to cut me loose with a program for home.

I’ll start walking the dogs short distances soon, maybe this evening?

Pray for the pain to stay gone for as long as possible, forever would be good 🙂 thank you

It actually still does hurt a bit with each step, but not horribly so, not enough to cause me to limp or wince as I’ve been having to do ever since this began so many months ago.
