Prayer Requests 7-15-20

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 138

Of David.

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
    and will praise your name
    for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
   for you have so exalted your solemn decree
    that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me;
    you greatly emboldened me.

May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
    though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
    You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

  1. I am now staying at my friends home in an upstairs bedroom. I have turned in my van and am now sharing her car.

    No one has been able to return to PNG. Flights keep getting cancelled or more restrictions put on them.

    They are still requiring folks to quarantine in the capital of Port Moresby. A very difficult thing and not wise. Please pray that we will all be allowed to quarantine in our homes in Ukarumpa. I am being told that my age makes me too high a risk factor for covid to be able to return. Leaves me in limbo, unsure of what to do.

  2. In light of Jo’s comment mine seems trivial. I awoke multiple times with the situation at work.
    This morning I have had my bone scan and will see the endocrinologist at 11. Hopefully all will be well.
    I also argued with my husband this morning over politics. He hates the south and if he didn’t have a granddaughter here he would leave. He is irrational in his hatred of Trump. I despise Trump on a personal level. But I don’t rant and rave over it.

  3. I had wondered, Jo. I should think if you get stuck here, you could step into some homeschooling roles for your family or church members. It’s certainly part of the conversation around here.

    Alas, we have no kindergartners.

  4. Kim, I’m just curious, why do you even “go there?” I can’t really relate, but I think if Hubby and I disagreed about something as trivial as politics, we just wouldn’t discuss it. Or the ever popular, “You may be right, Dear.”

  5. Sounds like she gets dragged “there” against her will 🙂

    I’d say it’ll soon be over once 2021 arrives, but sadly I think the political angst gripping our nation will continue — and could even get worse, if that’s even possible

  6. Even just listening to or “hearing” people going on and on about politics right now can really ramp up stress levels, whether a person is participating or not.

  7. Linda, I don’t know. I should know better by now.
    DJ, you are mostly correct. Soetimes I feel the need to point something out and don’t keep my mouth shut.

    I just believe all the protesting, apologizing, and pandering is going to backfire on those who want change. I can’t even tell him how many people I know who tell me secretly they are voting for Trump but they can’t let anyone know. THAT’S SAD. I can’t let my politcal views be known to many because if someone doesn’t agree with me now they will look up where I work and start bombarding the company and saying that “if that’s the kind of agents who work their I won’t be using any of their agents”. I had it happen a couple of weeks ago. The person had to quit and has moved out of state.

  8. There are a few degrees of separation between me and the couple for whom I’m requesting prayer, but please pray for M and K. He (M) and she (K) had twin boys born around midnight this morning — very prematurely — and both babies died around 3am. M is 3rd Arrow’s boyfriend’s brother.

    M seems to be doing ok; K is devastated. Please join me in praying for this young couple.
