Prayer Requests 7-2-20

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 128

A song of ascents.

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
    who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
    blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
    within your house;
   your children will be like olive shoots
    around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
    for the man who fears the Lord.

May the Lord bless you from Zion;
    may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
    all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children—
    peace be on Israel.

  1. Prayer for Chas and Elvera, with praise that he has found a working solution to helping her eat. May God bless their time together and his service.

  2. I looked up the nursing home Carol is in and it has no reported cases of Covid according to the LA County Public Health site. She’s also in a room by herself.

    But I worry that this is all part of what will be a more permanent transition for her into a place with more full-time care. It’s probably getting to be warranted, but I hate to see it just the same. Still, with the lockdown at their assisted living place, she already was confined to her room anyway.

    Meanwhile, she got paid and ordered 120 bags of chips and other junk food which will be delivered today to her old residence.

  3. Thank you to all those who offered their advice and encouragement yesterday. As I said, it is a tricky situation I am in, and I somehow have to balance not rocking the boat with standing up for my own self. I am pondering how to approach it with Nightingale, and have somewhat of an idea formed in my mind.

    But I think I will wait until her next day off, which will be next Tuesday, to talk to her. She has texted me that this has been a horrible week with falls, a psychotic patient starting to get out of control, and a new Covid case being serious enough to have to be sent to the hospital, among other things. And one of her favorites is being moved to another wing to make room for a patient, who is difficult, coming back from the hospital.

    For those who don’t know, when a patient falls, even if it seems minor, a full assessment has to be done, along with lots of paperwork, and calls to the appropriate relatives. So even just one fall is very time consuming, and ordinary days are already packed full of duties for the nurses.

  4. Father God, Thank You for Kizzie. Please help her through this balancing act with grace, compassion, truth, and love. I ask that You give her perfect timing, the right words, and also a peaceful spirit in the delivery of her message. Please prepare her daughter’s heart to express love and respect. Please open her heart to greater understanding of Your plans for her life and her son’s life. You are ultimately in charge and know all. Humans form opinions based on our own past experiences and partial knowlege of situations. Forgive us when we make wrong judgements even for what seems like fof loving reasons. I pray for Your will above all to be done. May Your commandment about honoring one’s parents be taken to heart from all angles in the whole situation and may peace give rest in the home as truth and love are shared. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Kizzie we love and support you. We have Little Miss 3 and a half days a week and Friday night. It is almost as if we have a 2 year old. I have to remind us both that we are the grandparents not the parents. I am a little more strict with her than Papa is. He finally has his girl. I’ve already raised one and know how manipulative they can be.
    You will figure this out. I have faith in you.
