Prayer Requests 5-28-20

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 107:1-9

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south.

Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty,
    and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

  1. I have a prayer request for my mother in law.

She had been diagnosed with kidney disease. It appears to be worsening and her numbers went from 33 to 26 in 2 weeks time. This means she moved from stage 3 to stage 4.

We would appreciate prayer on her behalf. Also, if anyone knows anything about this stuff, info would be appreciated since we know very little. We have lots of questions and few answers. Mom doesn’t share much. Straight forward info would be helpful, but please, be gentle. My wife will be reading this too.

  2. I am so sorry AJ…the unknowing is so difficult. Hoping some of our nurses can bring insight for you. My Dad had congestive heart failure and disease of the kidneys. I didn’t understand too much of what what going on other than he ended up going in for dialysis three days a week. I shall be asking the Lord to bring you answers for your questions, direction and wisdom for those caring for your mother in law….and healing ❤️

  3. My mom has stage 4 kidney disease and has for quite awhile. My sister encourages her to drink water, which is a battle.

My husband has stage 2 and also has a difficult time drinking much water. That does affect the test, too.

Other than that I would refer to the Mayo Clinic information.

  4. Very sorry to hear about Cheryl’s mom and the kidney disease. I have never been around anyone with that. I prayed about it just now and will also pray that new ways of treatment can be found to reduce the severity.

  5. AJ, we are getting an electrical storm so I can’t stay on. But both my father and my father-in-law died of kidney failure (very different ages, very different reasons), so I do have some knowledge firsthand. the good news is that it isn’t a painful issue, and that the progression can take a long time.
