Prayer Requests 4-18-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 70

Hasten, O God, to save me;
    come quickly, Lord, to help me.

May those who want to take my life
    be put to shame and confusion;
   may all who desire my ruin
    be turned back in disgrace.
May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”
    turn back because of their shame.
But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
   may those who long for your saving help always say,
    “The Lord is great!”

But as for me, I am poor and needy;
    come quickly to me, O God.
   You are my help and my deliverer;
    Lord, do not delay.

  1. Follow-up to my prayer request the other day about missing tuition checks at the studio where I work:

    The checks, which were dropped off early this month (not mailed), are still missing, and none of the other studio teachers responded to an inquiry email by the studio co-owner that they had seen the envelope that had my name and one of the violin instructor’s name on it.

    The family who wrote the checks is going to write new ones to cover April & May tuition for each of us who teach their children, and the studio is going to pay for the cost of putting a stop payment on the two missing checks, and notify the family and shred the previous checks if they show up.

    Thank you for praying. Please continue praying that future checks won’t disappear. The studio is still closed to the public — we’re all teaching remotely — so the family can’t physically hand the checks to us teachers. The mom has been very patient through all this, but I can imagine she would be concerned about how safe it would be to either drop the new checks in the outside box like she did before, or to send them through the mail. (The co-owner reported to the mom and to us involved teachers that the postal mail has been unreliable lately in the community where the studio is. She knows of two cases from January where she mailed something on the same day to several local teachers, and two of them never received it.)

    Prayers, too, for closure, if God wills it, on finding out what did exactly happen to the missing checks. Which might be a frivolous request… God knows, and I can learn to be satisfied with not knowing everything I want to know…

  2. I prayed for your request, 6 Arrows.

    After praying I had a thought that people can make payments to individuals through PayPal or other such means. I am not sure how it works. The money they send from their credit card may sit in your PayPal account until you use it to make a purchase.

  3. With online banking, you can pay an individual or a business. The bank sends the check to the address. (Although, I’m guessing many folks already know that, I didn’t know it until I had to start paying our bills online.)

  4. Thanks for the information, Janice, Kevin, and Kizzie. I have a few questions about PayPal and bill-pay, but put them over on the daily thread just now. 🙂

  5. Heavenly Father,

    I hear the thunder and rain that reminds me of Your great power over the natural world which You created. You are sovereign over all and though we at times feel fear You give us something good to do with our fears. We can give them over to You in prayer. You tell us to do that because You don’t want us to carry around a weight of anxiety on top of troubles we may be experiencing.

    Lord, tonight I lift up my Sister in Christ, Annms who has suffered with an illness for a week. It has been rough on her and those who care about her. I ask that the test she had for COVID-19 will show accurate results so the doctor will know how best to proceed. If she does have that virus, I ask that she will receive the best of care and not have to have a lengthy stay in the hospital if that should be required. I pray no one else will get the virus through exposure to her. Thank You Lord that every day progress is being made on knowing more about the various ways the virus attacks the body. Lord, You know I have cried out this afternoon asking for You to give supernatural immunity to COVID-19 to all humanity around the globe. I ask that specifically for Annms now as I did for others earlier. Please do not let our bodies that You made continue to be hospitable to the virus. And, Lord, if Annms has some other illness, I pray the correct meds can be given and that she will quickly regain strength. I have heard, Lord, how much people are helped by the plasma donations of those who have antibodies built up from prior infection. Please make that and all other helps available should Annms need them. And may she help others as she is helped. You are so good to keep us good company when we feel alone. Be present with Annms this evening in tangible ways helping her in this trouble time. May she have a quick recovery. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
