Prayer Requests 3-27-20

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 54

Save me, O God, by your name;
    vindicate me by your might.
Hear my prayer, O God;
    listen to the words of my mouth.

Arrogant foes are attacking me;
    ruthless people are trying to kill me—
    people without regard for God.

Surely God is my help;
    the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness destroy them.

I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
    I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
You have delivered me from all my troubles,
    and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

  1. Prayer for the first responders. I know a lot of ours are believers and do this with a heart of service. All volunteer. I see in the news that the team down in Riggins is mostly on self quarantine as they responded to the first case in the area, without knowing it was possible.

  2. I’m functioning okay with vertigo, as long as I don’t lie down, look down, or move abruptly.

    The very simple exercise to get the tiny ear crystals shaken back into place are done five times and repeated twice a day. Not hard at all, 10 minutes total, any of you could easily do this exercise.

    However, it makes me throw up and then I’m so wrung out I need a nap–in a recliner.

    As a result, I’ve only managed to do the whole “rep” once and had to give up the other two times after only three attempts.

    I can still do most everything in my real life–we took an hour-long walk yesterday in the sunshine without any problems. But if I lie down, move quickly, look down, the room spins and I have to grab onto something.

    When I had vertigo 18 months ago, our daughter was home and performed what is called an “Epley maneuver,” a slightly different exercise. She did it once and I was fine.

    We have a video and I may ask my husband to manipulate me for this one–it doesn’t look complicated–but if I only have to be dizzy sick once, I can handle that better than twice a day with a nap.

    Anyway, prayers for healing would make everything easier!

  3. Praying for you, Michelle. That feeling of the room spinning is very disorienting.

    I’d appreciate prayers about some health symptoms I’m having. Last night I had some sudden cramping and diarrhea that was off and on for an hour or two, then stopped completely. After that I slept for 11 1/2 hours. My body hasn’t adjusted to the time change yet, and I’ve slept poorly every night since then except one time before last night.

    Weird dreams, and a sense of not knowing whether I was awake or asleep at one point, were part of that. I had a dream within a dream where I couldn’t remember if my youngest slept in our bed or in a crib. I “woke up” from the first dream and realized my daughter wasn’t in our bed, but I couldn’t remember if we had a crib or if she was in another bed somewhere. (I was picturing her as a toddler.) Then I woke up from the actual dream and was horrified to realize that I had been so out of it and confused about my youngest’s age. She is 12 years old and has her own bed in her own bedroom. I had been in some twilight state between wakefulness and deep sleep, I think, and though I wasn’t feverish or delirious, my mind was like that, not being able to process reality for a while.

    Other physical symptoms I’ve had include a mild, come-and-go sore throat the last few days, but today it is more persistent, though still mild.

    Shortness of breath is my other symptom present today. Walking up my driveway or the stairway brings it on, though it’s not particularly debilitating.

    Overall I don’t feel very sick at the moment, but would be grateful for prayers that none of this gets worse. Thanks.

  4. Michelle, I’ve done the Epley maneuver with success with my husband. I did have several days in a row with it a few years ago, one or two days really horrible. But I think it was after the first couple of days that I remembered my oldest brother said he knew of a treatment if I ever had it, and so we called him and did it. I don’t remember the exact timing, just that the first day with it was hideous.

    6 Arrows, praying for you. Keep an eye on that!
