Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 42
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
among the festive throng.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
6 My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God my Rock,
“Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?”
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
Wisdom and healing with two very sick children here. Don’t want to take them in and get them more sick if it is just a passing thing. Don’t want to wait if it is needed to get extra help. Thanks.

We have one of those here, too, Mumsee. Nine-year-old was officially diagnosed with the flu about three weeks ago, seemed to recover, and now seems to have relapsed.

In light of the two above posts mine seems less of a concern, except….
I am panicked. I have weathered this storm before, but once again am not prepared for it. I am an independent contractor and will qualify for nothing.
All the calls I have been on have talked about cutting expenses and renegotiating contracts. I am terrified I will be one of the expenses cut and at the very least my contract renegotiated. I have nagged for two and a half years that we needed to save more. It fell on deaf ears. I’ve tried to squirrel away some, but not nearly enough.
Because on paper I made decent money, taxes are higher and insurance is higher. Anyone know if you can renegotiate your health insurance cost?

Praying, Kim, for wisdom and peace for you. Your concerns are valid. So glad God cares for all His children and doesn’t laugh at our concerns anymore than a good parent would.

Little Isabelle who was in three different the hospitals for a few weeks is now home. Neither her mom or dad (they are divorced) seem to know the Lord. Please pray for all. She still has some months of healing ahead to recover.

Kim, not a light concern at all, it’s your livelihood. It’s made me wonder, too, about the many freelancers we now rely upon. While we’re all busier than ever right now with so much “news” to cover, things will settle in and slow down at some point.
Carol is doing fine (and I’m especially glad now that her phone service is back). They’ve been told no one can go outside (she’s not been outside anyway due to her declining mobility) and no visitors can come in unless they have business there. Carol tells me they’re taking temperatures of any who have symptoms of a cold, etc. Not sure residents would hear if someone wound up being tested positive for this disease — and I’m not sure if they have test kits available on the premises, but perhaps they do through their visiting medical personnel.

You all know how to pray well, but here are a few ideas from my friend Amy Boucher Pye:
Do you know these breath prayers? It’s just a simple exercise. Pray one word on the inhale and another on the exhale. Or take one word and pray a syllable as you draw a breath and the second syllable while letting it go:
Fa-ther
Je-sus
Spi-rit
Or you can focus on asking God through his Spirit to take something from you and to fill you with his attributes:
Lord, I give you my anxiety,
I receive your peace.
I release to you my fear,
I welcome your love.
I hand over to you my fretting,
I accept your guidance.
I exhale my stress,
I inhale your rest.
You can pray special lines from Scripture this way too:
Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
1 Samuel 3:9-10
Speak, Lord,
your servant is listening.
Jeremiah 31:3
You love me
with an everlasting love.
You draw me
with loving kindness.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord is with me;
he is might to save.
Psalm 17:8
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 57:1
In you
my soul takes refuge.
Psalm 34:8
Taste and see
that the Lord is good.
Psalm 32:7
You are
my hiding place.
Isaiah 40:11
He tends his flock
like a shepherd.
A final line to ponder is that by Thomas Traherne, which I often repeat when I can’t sleep:
Lord, have mercy
Into Thy hands
Thee I adore.

Did I mention that twin girl is now off oxygen during the day? And twin boy has been cleared to let mommy sleep at night, no more every three hour feedings and their accompanying time consuming making of special formula. Thanks for praying, don’t stop!

Please pray for Anne. She and her husband bought a lot on the river to build a retirement home. He died several years ago. All she wants for the lot is enough to pay it off and get our from under it. She has received an offer but it isn’t what she wanted. I have worked the numbers several times, cut commissions, gotten the other agent to contribute and will zero out the loan when it closes. At least she won’t have to bring money to the table.
She is accepting this offer because routine bloodwork last week led to a bone marrow test yesterday.
I asked her if I could ask you to pray for her. She is such a sweet lady.

Praying for the above requests. God is good to listen to each request brought before Him. More prayers than ever these days.
