It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.
Anyone else?
Psalm 119
א Aleph
1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.
ב Beth
9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
I’m heading to the doctor at 11 to have a tumor/cyst removed from my forearm. It had been there for about 2 years with no issues, but recently I banged it into the edge of a table. That made it painful and even though it wasn’t opened, it got infected. We drained it (gross) at the visit last week, he biopsied it, and I’ve been on an antibiotic for a week. It looks rough, but feels much better, and today, that sucker comes out.

Prayers it goes as easily as, apparently, my daughter’s cyst removal last night in Urgent Care.
She texted me a photo of a large bandage on her chest: “No big deal, it didn’t involve open-heart surgery,”
Hers just suddenly grew over the last couple of days. She’s had no time to visit her own doc, so she went in last night just before the local closed. Doc congratulated her on being a calm patient and advised her to have a nurse at work unpack today.
Prayers for both of you to recover without any trouble. Hers was nearly abscessed.
And prayers, too, for Kizzie still fighting that pneumonia-related issue.

I pack drained abscessed cysts all the time… The clinic goes through a lot of packing. Most heal pretty quickly, and antibiotics seem to help speed up the process.

So thankful to God for competent and careful medical personnel to take all procedures, even the smallest, seriously to prevent infections.
A doctor from my church recently posted to Facebook an article about how the low humidity in hospital buildings can lead to pneumonia. It was quite interesting if anyone did not see it. Seems like it was from the Harvard Medical School but I may not be remembering correctly.

Janice, a doctor who worked in the mid-1900s in Nunavut found that humidifying the air in buildings helped to lower the rate of meningitis. The dry air was causing infections to spread from the dried and irritated lining of the nose and throat to the brain. As we have all experienced in winter, nosebleeds can happen when the air is very dry, and the nose has a direct connection to the brain through the olfactory nerve.
