Prayer Requests 11-26-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 106:1-5

Praise the Lord.

   Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord
    or fully declare his praise?
Blessed are those who act justly,
who always do what is right.

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people,
come to my aid when you save them,
that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may share in the joy of your nation
and join your inheritance in giving praise.

  1. Prayer requests:
My husband. I think God is working in his heart on some things. Things he is not ready to discuss. There is a Christian man who is influencing him.
BG. She came to me recently and asked about going to see a therapist. I told her yes, I thought that was a good idea. I tried to get her to take the action to get there but she wasn’t capable. I did the research, found someone I think will be good and emailed them that I have a 22 year old who wants counselling but is incapable of making the appointment herself and part of the goal is for me not to have to do things like this in the future. The woman called me and we had a brief discussion. BG has her first appointment today at 11. I spent part of my drive in talking to her about it. “You have to tell the therapist the truth. You have to tell her everything. Short of you telling her you want to kill yourself or someone else, she cannot tell me anything. This is all about you. No one else. Yes, it is scary. Everyone feels that way… You can do this.

The therapist is a Christian but we had the talk about BG being atheist/agnostic. She will tread delicately.

  2. Both of those sound very promising, Kim. Praying for them both.

Speaking of therapists. . . As you know (I think), I am not pleased with what I have heard of Chickadee’s therapist. Praying she is replaced by a better, hopefully Christian, therapist.

  3. Encouraging news, Kim! Will be praying.

Praying that Chickadee’s therapy will bring blessing, and honor to God.

How are you recovering from your pneumonia, Kizzie? I did some catching up here at the blog and was astounded to read of all the pneumonia and other ills faced by blog members and loved ones!

Praying for the new and expectant moms and babies, too.

RKessler asked recently what ever came of the job opportunity (teaching as an independent contractor at a colleague’s studio once a week). Well, today it’s official: the answer is YES! We’re in the process now of getting me a key, writing my bio for their website, having one of the co-owners take my picture, and of course sign their agreement, which I’ve seen and is very reasonable in its terms. (The co-owner with whom I’ve been in contact the most was my District Auditions Chair mentor, and she is so friendly, smart, encouraging, supportive; you name a positive adjective, she’s it.) 🙂

But besides all that, here is one of the greatest blessings to come out of this whole deal: the studio is in a city near us that is also the city where our synod has a special needs ministry program once a week — the same day of the week I’ll be teaching down there. The location and timing of the program and my teaching coincide beautifully. So I can drop off 5th Arrow at the church where the program is held, go to the studio 10 minutes away and teach, then pick him up after we’re both done. (I finish about 15 minutes before he does, so will probably be arriving during the last few minutes of his activities.)

I cried when I realized how God blessed our family as he worked out the logistics of both of these things. He is so good, and in this season of Thanksgiving, I want to add a big thank you to all you lovely friends who have prayed for me and for my family. This was a tremendous answer to prayer! Thank you so much for your past and current prayers.

  4. 6 Arrows – That made me cry joyful tears. What an incredible blessing! So happy for you!

As for my pneumonia, supposedly the infection should be healed, but I am still coughing (although not as much as before) and not feeling up to par. I’ve been told that this is normal for recovering from pneumonia, but of course I will keep an eye on it, so to speak. I am just tired and want it to be gone finally. (Trying not to pout. 🙂 )

  5. Cheryl, indeed He is! And yeah, as I typed “coincide” up above, I thought to myself that this was no coincidence to God. 🙂

My husband has been saying fairly often lately that 5th Arrow needs more outside involvement. What a beautiful thing that this ministry is one way he can now get that involvement on a regular basis.

Kizzie, I’ll be praying for you as you hang in there. Coughs can be so hard to get rid of sometimes, even without pneumonia. Hope you’ll soon regain your health and stamina!
