Prayer Requests 11-4-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 85

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.

Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;
    righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
    and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,
    and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

  1. Thank you for your prayers yesterday. By the end of the day, the pain had mostly turned into an occasional twinge and ache. The best part was that I went to bed early was actually able to fall asleep quickly. Getting up early this morning to get Boy on the school bus was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Even though I felt colder last night than the night before, I did not get a recurrence of the shivering.

    This morning, unbeknownst to me (he had told his mother earlier), Boy did not want to go to school. As we were at the top of the lane with the others, waiting for the bus, he was playing with the other children, but sometimes it looked like he was trying to sneak down the lane. I really wasn’t sure if he was trying to sneak away or if going down the lane a bit was part of their game. Then the game would go on with him playing, so I thought (hoped) that was all it was.

    When the bus came, the other kids rushed to get their backpacks and get on the bus, but Boy was slowly walking up, with his head down, and even before he raised his head and looked at me, I could tell he was crying. I don’t know if something happened with the kids or if it was just that he didn’t want to go to school.

    Denise, my neighbor who runs the daycare next door, jumped in and grabbed his backpack and hurried him over to the bus. (She was nice to him about it, as if she was helping him.) By then all the others were on, and the bus driver was calling for him. (I had to wipe his nose from some thick yuckiness coming out.)

    I didn’t have much time to try to comfort him, but I told him that whatever the problem was, it would be alright. I hope he has a good day today. Btw, this is a praise, that even though he clearly did not want to go, he went.

  2. My brother and SIL’s house was on fire! I read that on a local Facebook page right before I had to go out to the bus stop. Someone said they are okay, but I don’t know any other details.

    Someone said that the garage was engulfed in flames, but wasn’t sure how far into the house they may have spread. 😞

    You may remember that they are not believers, and have been quite hostile to Christianity in the past. After my mom died in 2010 (my dad had died in 2004), they stopped getting together with us for any holidays. SIL and I exchange emails every now and then, but not often.

    Please pray that God will draw them to Himself through this, and that He will bring them a good Christian friend with a good witness. Thanks.

  3. SIL replied to my email. (Nightingale had texted her for me – I don’t have her cell phone number – to ask if they needed anything. My email was a little longer than that.) She and my brother and their cats are okay (the cats are being monitored at the vet’s), but they “lost mostly everything,” as she said. They are staying with their good friends at least for tonight.

    I am stunned. From what I read, I thought it was the garage and then maybe part of the house.

  4. Kizzie I don’t recall but is brother living in the same area as you? Will be praying for their hearts to be softened towards our Lord….sometimes we just need to come to the end of ourselves….to look up….❤️
    And praying for our Lord to bring rain to the dry and parched lands Michelle…and to quiet the winds….unsettling for sure…
    Bible study was good and there was a mishap with a chair and my foot…I held back the tears but it is swollen and painful…same foot that has been broken three times and a toe or two may have some damage…ugh…and ouch!
